Shao Ming had already guessed her intentions for this visit and said upfront, "If it’s about your uncle, then there’s no need to talk."
Shao Yuwei’s face froze for a mont, then she stamred, "Brother, do you have to be so heartless?"
Shao Ming lazily took a cigarette from the pack, held it with his lips, and lit it, "Because of your uncle, my restaurant was shut down by Fu Yinli, and your uncle even beat up my woman. Do you think I can swallow that?"
He took a drag from the cigarette, and the smoke spread freely around.
Shao Yuwei frowned unconsciously. Originally, she thought he had a good relationship with Yinli and could easily ask him for a favor. Who would’ve thought he was also affected?
But her cousin usually lived a frivolous life without seriousness, and this was the first ti she’d heard of him standing up for a woman. Was he just making up an excuse to brush her off?
"My uncle is seriously injured and hospitalized, and he’s already been punished. After all, he’s still a distant relative of the Shao Family, and he used to help my mom a lot. Can you ask Yinli for a favor?"
Shao Ming frowned, "Understand that his woman got into trouble on my turf, and it cost my restaurant. He treated like this; do you think he’d care about my face?"
Shao Yuwei was montarily speechless.
This path didn’t work; she couldn’t think of another way.
But seeing his restaurant shut down, he didn’t seem to have any complaints, as if he was happy to let it happen, which made her sowhat doubt his words.
"You haven’t tried, so how do you know he wouldn’t care about your face?"
Her question was t with silence.
Shao Yuwei ultimately couldn’t persuade him and left, feeling disheartened.
However, despite Shao Ming not responding verbally, after a cigarette, he left the private room and drove to Jing Garden.
An hour later, he parked his car at the entrance of Jing Garden.
Shao Ming looked through the car window at the gate for a while, hesitated, then got out and rang the doorbell.
Housekeeper Zhao ca out and opened the door for him, "Young Master Shao, what brings you here?"
"Did Fu Yinli co back?" Shao Ming asked.
Housekeeper Zhao shook his head, "Sir hasn’t returned yet. Would you like to co inside and wait?"
"Sure."
He hadn’t visited for many years, and the front yard looked much the sa, but upon entering the house and seeing the ground covered with tactile paving, he couldn’t help but tense up.
No wonder he couldn’t et him after returning ho; seems he’s hiding a secret in a golden house.
Shao Ming crossed his legs and leaned back on the sofa, relaxed as if it was his own ho, and asked Housekeeper Zhao, who was making tea, "Is his lover asleep?"
Housekeeper Zhao glanced at him casually and replied, "Miss Su is already asleep."
Too bad. She’s already asleep.
After thinking for a while, he didn’t wait for Housekeeper Zhao to finish making tea and stood up, saying, "I’ll co find him tomorrow."
Housekeeper Zhao was taken aback; the seat hadn’t even ward up, and he suddenly left?
However, before Shao Ming could leave the living room, he bumped into the returning Fu Yinli.
Shao Ming’s face stiffened, and he imdiately changed his tune, "Why are you back so late? I’ve been waiting for you all evening."
Fu Yinli carried his suit jacket inside, glanced at him indifferently, and walked straight into the house.
Shao Ming found himself at a crossroads, backed up, took out a cigarette pack, and offered him a cigarette.
Seeing he didn’t take it, Shao Ming twitched his lips, then sat on the sofa opposite him, couldn’t help but complain, "Shut down my restaurant, beat people like that, and you’re still not satisfied?"
Fu Yinli lit a cigarette, engulfing himself in smoke, and in that instant, his deep aura reached its peak, his eyes filled with weary intensity.
"What’s the purpose?"
Shao Ming paused, didn’t beat around the bush, "The person you beat up is Yuwei’s uncle. Considering your past relationship, give the guy a way out."
Fu Yinli t his gaze, "Did she send you here?"
"Yeah." Shao Ming didn’t deny it, "Her mom’s really pressuring her; don’t make things difficult for her."
"Does it have anything to do with ?"
"..." Shao Ming was montarily speechless, "It seems my face is worthless compared to your treasured one."
"Just so you know."
Shao Ming frowned slightly, "After all, he’s Yuwei’s relative. If this issue reaches Elder Fu, you’ll eventually have to compromise, so why bother?"
Without a response from him, Shao Ming took a breath, picked up the tea in front of him, and took a sip.
At this mont, the first-floor bedroom door opened, Su Lingzhi ca out squinting, her hair ssy on her shoulders, and her pajamas hanging loosely on her body, sleepily oblivious to the guest in the house.
"Still looking?" Fu Yinli warned aloud.
Shao Ming quickly realized it was directed at him and promptly shifted his gaze.
Su Lingzhi paused suddenly midway, a bit shocked before noticing the two vague silhouettes on the sofa.
She instinctively hugged her arms, her cheeks slightly reddening.
She was actually wearing underclothes, but with Fu Yinli’s voice erging, she felt like there was sothing on her that couldn’t be seen.
Fu Yinli walked towards her and asked, "Why did you co out?"
Su Lingzhi pressed her dry lips, "I’m thirsty, ca out to find water. Didn’t interrupt you, did I?"
"Go back to the room and wait, I’ll get you so water."
"Okay."
After saying that, she decisively turned back into the room.
Soon after, Fu Yinli poured a cup of warm water and walked towards the bedroom, completely ignoring Shao Ming sitting in the living room.
Su Lingzhi took the water he offered, drank half, and placed the rest on the bedside table, "You go entertain the guest, I’ll sleep."
Fu Yinli tucked her in and kissed her lips, whispering indistinctly, "I’ll be back."
The unclear promise lingered as he left the bedroom.
Seeing him co out, Shao Ming got up tactfully, no longer lingering, "I’ve said all I needed to say, it’s up to you what to do."
Fu Yinli’s expression remained unchanged, "Just say it, see him out."
The housekeeper soon gestured to lead him out.
Within minutes, Fu Yinli went back into the bedroom and closed the door.
After a bath, he lay beside Su Lingzhi, wearing a robe, embracing her tightly from behind.
"Did the wound get wet?" Su Lingzhi’s sleepy voice erged.
Fu Yinli kissed her smooth shoulder, "No."
"Then turn off the lights and sleep."
Not hearing his movents for a while, Su Lingzhi shifted slightly, and heard him moan; she opened her eyes and instantly sensed sothing off about him.
His hot breath spilled beside her ear, her body inexplicably heated, her heart pounding wildly, losing rhythm.
"It’s already very late," she reminded with a flustered voice.
Sensing her reaction, Fu Yinli reassured in a low voice, "Don’t worry, I won’t touch you."
