Chapter 747: Chapter 464: Princess’s Night Visit

At the entrance of the Generous Church District, the archway was flanked by five marble pillars on each side, each engraved with the bas-relief of a human knight, symbolizing the ten Governing Officers of the Senate.

On the right end, there was a male figure with an indistinct face, wearing a high-collared cape over his armor, representing Chen Lun himself.

At that mont, a coach slowly entered the archway, following a path through the middle of the lawn garden, proceeding onward, passing by the “Speaker Statue” in the central circular rest area, and finally slowing down to a stop.

Beside the cobblestone path leading directly to the Generous Cathedral, under a streetlight, sat a man wearing a black flat top hat, with a silver cane resting gently on his thigh, calmly watching the arriving coach.

The coachman appeared to be a no-nonsense middle-aged man, holding the reins with one hand and removing his bowler hat with the other, bowing his head to Chen Lun.

Chen Lun’s gaze was striking, easily capturing the black Sun tattoo branded on the coachman’s hand. His pupils shrank montarily as he imdiately guessed the identity of the person inside the coach.

‘Solar Cross Society…’

The coachman gently shook the bell twice, moving a wooden stick extended from the top of the carriage and the windproof kerosene lamp hanging from it.

Ding-dong…

The light swayed, and the carriage door slowly opened.

A young woman with golden hair simply tied up, dressed in a white embroidered gown, stepped down from the coach. Her crystal flat shoes, sparkling with flowing light, lightly tapped on the cobblestone path, emitting a crisp sound.

In the tranquil environnt, only the chirping of cicadas in midsumr could be heard.

As the breeze passed, Chen Lun stood up in surprise, locking eyes with the beautiful woman. He took a deep breath, removed his black hat, and perford a gentlemanly bow.

“Good evening, esteed Princess,” he said.

“There’s no need for formalities, Mr. Jack. This isn’t a formal occasion; just call Anna,” replied Princess Anna, lifting her fair hand to smooth a strand of hair that the breeze had teased, smiling as she spoke.

“Won’t you invite in?”

She asked, hinting at sothing deeper with her question.

Chen Lun raised his eyebrows, pondering the Princess’s purpose for her nightti visit, while politely responding,

“This way, please, Miss Anna.”

He then led Princess Anna toward the residential area, where the ground floor of the main building was spacious enough to accommodate guests comfortably.

After parking the coach, the coachman followed closely behind Princess Anna, apparently doubling as her bodyguard.

The three of them walked along the path illuminated by streetlights, crossing two gardens before finally reaching the main building’s entrance. A girl in a black and purple long dress had been silently waiting there; upon seeing Chen Lun, she clasped her hands in front of her, slightly bowing to him.

Princess Anna glanced at Floey and gave a slight smile.

“I saw this lady at a ball before,” she said.

She then turned toward Chen Lun, her eyes conveying a question.

Realizing, Chen Lun gently introduced,

“Miss Anna, this is my… fiancée, Floey.”

Floey was montarily startled, then a blush spread across her coly face. She couldn’t help but smile, silently raising her eyes to gaze at Chen Lun.

Princess Anna appeared sowhat surprised; she nodded slightly, taking Floey’s hand.

“It’s a pleasure to et you, Miss Floey… You are very beautiful, and you and Mr. Jack are a perfect match,” she said.

“Thank you for the complint, Your Highness,” replied Floey, with a smile.

Straightaway, everyone entered the main door together and sat down on the living room sofa, while Floey headed to the kitchen to prepare a pot of warm tea for their distinguished guest.

“Miss Anna, may I ask the reason for your visit tonight?” Chen Lun removed his hat and placed it on the table, courteously inquiring.

Princess Anna gave him a aningful look, but didn’t disclose directly. Instead, she began talking about the past:

“Ever since I was very young, I could see fragnts of the future in my dreams. Initially, I didn’t care, but as I grew older, I noticed that these fragnts all ca to pass. From that ti, I realized it was a natural gift… sothing like precognition or perhaps a form of guidance from destiny?”

She shook her head.

“My father, the Sun King, scoffs at the idea of ‘destiny,’ even to the point of hatred, so I never ntioned it to him… But quite a while ago, I saw you in my dreams, Mr. Jack,” Princess Anna said, quietly watching Chen Lun.

Chen Lun’s eyes narrowed.

He silently cursed, another person guided by destiny; Alec had once received such guidance and even helped him find “Farr Dolim” and forewarned him about the Red Calamity.

Now, Princess Anna was making her way directly to him, openly telling him of seeing him in her dreams. This once again brought the sense of an unavoidable destiny, irritating Chen Lun.

“What did you see in your dreams?” he calmly asked.

“Calamity…”

Anna whispered softly.

“A calamity capable of destroying the world. When the Dark Ages descend, a pale giant dragon will tear through the skies, bringing an boundless light of hope, akin to the sun… And you, sir, are either that dragon or part of the light. In any case, you have an irreplaceable significance,” she said.

Chen Lun’s brow furrowed slightly, unimpressed and unconvinced by the Princess’s vague and enigmatic statents.

He remained silent for a few seconds.

“Miss Anna, as the legitimate daughter of the Sun Royal Family and the daughter of the Sun King, isn’t it inappropriate to compare others to the sun?” he asked.

“Do not be so tense, Mr. Jack. Even if my father knew I said this, he wouldn’t be angry about it… He is a tolerant Emperor,” Princess Anna responded with a smile.

“Moreover, long ago, another sun had already erged… but just…”

She shook her head and paused, stopping there.

At that mont, Floey ca over with a teapot and poured a cup for each person. Princess Anna expressed her thanks and then shot Chen Lun a glance.

“Floey, sit next to ,” she said.

Chen Lun smiled and beckoned, signaling to the princess that Floey was a person he trusted and there was no need for caution.

Princess Anna then nodded in agreent.

“Mr. Jack, Prince Dazlert was assassinated today, you must be aware of it?”

Although Chen Lun was sowhat surprised that she referred to his brother in such a manner, he rely nodded nonchalantly.

“Of course… I happened to be sharing a carriage with His Highness at the ti of the attack, I was at the scene and witnessed the entire process,” he said.

Princess Anna took a sip of her tea and said calmly,

“I had warned you before not to get too close to him… Now you have gotten yourself into big trouble.”

Chen Lun, recalling that his Serpent Parasitism had unexpectedly lost contact, glanced unintentionally at the coachman behind the princess and ventured,

“Solar Cross Society?”

A look of surprise briefly crossed the delicate features of Princess Anna.

But she quickly controlled her facial expression and looked deeply at Chen Lun.

“You know?” she asked.

Chen Lun silently nodded.

More than just knowing…

He was well aware of even the roots of the mbers of the Solar Cross Society. Queen Caplan had told him that the descendants from the underworld, produced through normal reproduction and bearing the mission to save their holand, had co to the surface and ford such a secret organization.

However, Chen Lun could not understand why they would assassinate the prince.

Princess Anna was silent for a few seconds, seemingly pondering sothing.

Then, she lifted her head and said to Chen Lun,

“The extraordinary ans you left behind have been noticed by them, and have aroused their vigilance and hostility. The Solar Cross Society is now planning to eliminate you.”

“I am not afraid,” Chen Lun said with a light laugh, after taking a sip of his tea.

“They dare to assassinate even a prince, and even though you have the backing of the Generous Council or are a mber of the Imperial Judgent Group, it’s not enough to make them wary… or should I say, are you very confident in your own strength? But in the Solar Cross Society, there exists a high-ranking saint! You have no chance of winning, Mr. Jack,” Princess Anna said slightly frowning, as if stating a fact.

Originally, Chen Lun was a bit puzzled about the princess’s intentions, but after hearing her remarks, he was pretty much able to confirm them.

‘She wants to win over…’ Chen Lun thought.

He set down his teacup and said with a smile,

“Is this also the reason for your personal visit? I think Her Highness has already figured out a solution.”

“It really is ti-saving and effortless to talk with a smart person…” Princess Anna nodded.

She looked directly into Chen Lun’s eyes, her expression serious.

“Mr. Jack, your current situation is very dangerous. How about coming to help ? I can remove the threat of the Solar Cross Society for you,” she proposed.

Chen Lun pretended to ponder.

“What would you have do, Your Highness?” he inquired.

“It’s not the ti yet, but when the ti is right, I hope you will support unconditionally,” Princess Anna said.

An idea suddenly burst into Chen Lun’s mind: a struggle for succession?

He imdiately dismissed the thought.

Because it held no significance.

The rulers of the Tresor Empire were not ordinary monarchy…

That was Emperor Andre!

At the very least, he was a high-ranking angel of Sequence Two! In Ancient Tis, he would have been a Sub-God! Having lived for thousands of years and ruled the entire Solar Era, his longevity was incalculable—how could it possibly be the Crown Prince’s turn to ascend the throne?

Unless He voluntarily abdicated, but such a thing was nearly impossible.

“Your Highness, without knowing the specifics, how can I support you unconditionally? At least reveal a bit of information to give a vague idea?” Chen Lun said sowhat helplessly.

Princess Anna realized that what she had said was too vague and abstract, difficult to make credible, so she fell into thought.

At this mont, the coachman behind her gently reminded,

“Princess, it’s not appropriate to reveal…”

Anna raised her hand to interrupt him, signaling that she understood.

After weighing the pros and cons, she finally took a deep breath.

“Mr. Jack, as a gesture of sincerity, I can tell you so more, but please don’t let down…” she said, constantly observing Chen Lun’s expressions.

“Actually, I am the current leader of the Solar Cross Society.”
