Chapter 473: Chapter 333 Encircling Points to Reinforce Assistance_2

Chen Lun smiled in response.

After Tobin had spoken, he returned to his half-asleep, half-awake state, slowly lowering his head and leading the way.

The five black-robed monks following him were just the sa, remaining silent from beginning to end, rely walking in silence.

Before long, the group arrived at the church district.

Suddenly, intense sounds ca from ahead, and even the ground began to tremble.

“It seems Corliss and his people have already encountered battle, we must hurry over,”

Bishop Tobin said.

Their pace quickened, and after passing through a few tall Gothic buildings, they arrived at a spacious open area, which was the size of two soccer fields and appeared to have been transford and rebuilt… The ground still bore many unfilled pits, and large slabs of stone were piled at the edge of the open area, waiting to be laid.

In the central region, a huge statue of a woman nine ters tall stood, her face unseen, draped in a luxurious robe, standing quietly, her raised right hand holding a rose.

This was the True God worshiped by the Red Apple Church, Lady Rose.

At the base of Her statue, three circles of upright stone slabs were surrounded, covered with carved floral patterns, but now they were stained with fresh blood, and hundreds of corpses piled within the crevices of the stone, horrifying and terrible.

Under the dim light, the statue of Lady Rose emitted a bewitching red glow.

“This is a sacrificial square… Damn the Red Apple Church!”

Tobin burst out in uncontrollable anger upon seeing this scene.

The group looked up.

They saw two factions fiercely battling it out in the distance, with thunderous booms resounding.

The transcendental monks clad in red robes, the Priest Ghouls transford into giant creatures, and the aged bishop with sinister bat wings on his back fought against investigators from the Shelter led by Corliss as well as Roxanne and the Black Knife Assassins.

Even with the alternating advantage and disadvantage afforded by the “Nightfall Domain,” Corliss and his allies were still at a disadvantage!

Just as Bishop Tobin was about to step forward to help, the battle on the other side underwent a drastic change.

The red-robed bishop flying through the air and the five Priest Ghouls on the ground suddenly exploded, turning into hundreds, thousands of densely packed bats, squeaking noisily.

The bats gathered together, forming a huge, weird pattern in mid-air made of three overlapping triangles. They seed to be initiating so kind of ritual, and the red light on Lady Rose’s statue beca even more dazzling.

Her stone rose began to take on a crimson sheen, turning as if it was a real flower. It even started to seep thick, dark Sin Blood from the petals, drop by drop, constantly evaporating into the air, giving off dazzling, strange colors.

Whoosh…!!

Suddenly, a torrent of crimson blood rain descended, containing terrifying contaminants and corrosive power, pouring down on Corliss and the others.

The diminutive Corliss’s complexion changed slightly, and he vigorously swung his hand, scattering droplets of starlight containing purple, green, and pale blue—a mixture of several transcendental perfus.

Hiss!!!

Mushrooms the size of houses sprouted from the ground, their vivid and wide mushroom caps shielding Corliss, Roxanne, and the others from the blood rain.

Dull thudding sounds ca from above them, as the blood rain pounded the mushrooms like heavy bullets. The splattered blood mist spread around, slowly falling and perating the atmosphere. Investigators and Black Knife Assassins who inadvertently breathed in the mist instantly felt numbness and pain throughout their bodies, their Sanity rapidly fading.

“Hold your breath, this blood rain is highly contaminated!”

Corliss roared.

He once again scattered pale blue perfu, and the air around them was refreshed, purifying the blood mist to so extent.

At the sa ti, the giant mushrooms, nourished by the “perfu nutrients,” suddenly shrank and expanded, releasing countless pale blue spores, which absorbed the blood rain from the sky and dissolved it on their own.

But the ghastly squeals and the ongoing sound of corrosion eating at the mushroom caps continuously challenged the nerves of Corliss and the others, pressing onto them with imnse pressure.

The power of the Red Apple Church was far beyond their expectations.

But at that mont.

The bat swarm, forming a triangle pattern in mid-air, suddenly clustered together and flew away to one side.

Corliss and Roxanne, among others, looked up, following the direction in which they were flying away… The expressions on the investigators’ faces changed dramatically.

“Lord Corliss, they’re heading towards Bishop Tobin and Mr. Jack!”

The subordinate next to the short man shouted.

“So this is the damn plan of those red madn! Intentionally trapping us with the blood rain, actually aiming to intercept the reinforcent squad! It was reckless of to enter this area ahead of ti… The enemy knew we were coming all along and deliberately set up a trap.”

Corliss’s face darkened, and he imdiately sat down cross-legged with a pile of supernatural materials and mixing vessels in his hands, instructing his subordinates:

“Keep watch with Miss Roxanne and the others. I need three minutes to mix a perfu temporarily, so I can…”

At that mont.

A group of eight or nine red-cloaked monks appeared from the other side of the clearing, behind the Moon Church and the Circus, with the Red Apple Church pressing from front and back, blocking Chen Lun and the others’ way out.

“That’s the ‘Red Rose Squad’… Bishop Tobin and Mr. Jack are in danger!”

Corliss’s pupils contracted.

Just as he was about to turn his head to speak to Roxanne, he realized that the people of the Black Knife Brotherhood had all vanished.

Only their parting words lingered in the air:

“We move with the shadows, fearless of the blood rain, so we will go support first.”

Chen Lun looked around.

The approaching swarm of bats gathered to form a red-cloaked bishop and five priests; the captain of the Red Rose Squad, leading seven elite monks, cut off their retreat, closing in.

Cruel smiles hung on their faces as if they held the winning ticket.

To the side, elongated shadows skimd the ground, running towards them—it was the Black Knife Assassins led by Roxanne. Yet it did not look like support, for even Bishop Tobin could feel the strong malice emanating from those shadows, assaulting them head-on.

When the shadows stopped a hundred ters away, they stood up from the ground, regaining human form.

Roxanne, leading them, was covered in pitch-black shadows, like a layer of black mud armor, with only her face exposed, a cold smile on her lips and undisguised murderous intent in her eyes.

She shaped her mouth as if to say:

“You’re done for, Qiaoke.”

Chen Lun first calmly surveyed the followers of the Red Apple Church before looking back at the distant figures of the Black Knife Brotherhood and others, then he shook his head lightly, saying indifferently:

“This many people is still not enough.”

He decided to take the initiative and waved his hand.

A card storm suddenly whipped up around him, hundreds of rapidly spinning playing cards swirling like a tornado around him.

Chen Lun lowered his black hat and, holding the Silver Staff like a conductor’s baton, gently twirled it around.

The card storm split instantaneously into two torrents, surging towards the enemies both in front and behind!

“Jack! You damned heretic! Stop struggling! As just a…”

The red-cloaked bishop sneered.

But his face changed drastically the next second.

For mixed within the incoming card storm were ten glossy black flying cards, each suppressing terrifying energy… It made his soul tremble, a strong sense of danger suddenly arising.
