86. The Answers You Seek Are All in Nordlin

That Bai Wei was an undercover agent remained just a guess. ng Lian spent the day in a daze, and when she returned to her dorm, she felt like a walking corpse.

Thump!

ng Lian didn't turn on the lights. In the darkness, she threw herself onto the bed. Feeling the soft bedding, she began to sob silently.

She hadn't cried in a long ti. The first ti was when her parents passed away. The second ti was when her little sister beat her up. This was the third ti, crying because she was lost.

ng Lian didn't know who she really was. She had abandoned her original identity with a sincere heart to go undercover among the witches, but in the end, it seed like she had been deluding herself all along.

Undercover agent, the Alliance, it all seed like sothing she had hallucinated in a ntal breakdown.

But her little sister, the little monts she shared with her sister, everything from before, it all felt so real. How could ng Lian possibly treat her past in the Alliance as an illusion?

Why... what exactly did I do wrong?

No training, no contact person. She had been so naively stupid, foolishly coming to the witches like this. Maybe the witches had already seen through her impure intentions for coming to the Witch Academy. Maybe those witches were hiding in so corner right now, laughing at her.

ng Lian rembered when she first learned she had to carry out an undercover mission. She was both excited and anxious. Without any training, she watched videos on her own, learning so-called witch etiquette, and even went through all the spy movies the Alliance had ever produced, just wanting to contribute her humble efforts to the Alliance.

But now, looking back, she seed like nothing more than a jumping clown. The Alliance had abandoned her, and the witches were secretly mocking her.

"Wuu..."

The crying was soft, but very sorrowful. ng Lian felt the pillow grow damp and cold, just like her heart at this mont.

After a day of thinking, she had accepted the fact that she had been abandoned.

"Master..."

At this mont, a trace of pink light flashed through the dark room. Yaoyao flew out from the book. Seeing ng Lian burying her face in the blanket and crying softly in the darkness, her heart ached.

But she also knew that the ti had finally co.

"I'm fine, hic, I just watched a touching movie earlier, hic..."

ng Lian was crying so hard she kept hiccupping, but she still insisted through gritted teeth that she was fine. Seeing this, Yaoyao didn't expose her. She pulled out a tissue and handed it to ng Lian.

"Thank you, hic..."

"Master... why don't you go to Nordlin?"

Those words again. At first, ng Lian didn't pay much attention.

"Yaoyao, I don't have the mood right now. Let's do it another day."

"Master, if you want to know the answers, go to Nordlin. Everything you want to know is inside."

Having said this much, ng Lian also sensed sothing was wrong.

ng Lian's hand froze as she was wiping her tears. The room fell into a strange silence.

At this mont, ti seed to be stretched infinitely. In the darkness, ng Lian could clearly see the mysterious smile on Yaoyao's face.

ng Lian couldn't help but shiver.

"Haha, Yaoyao, stop joking. What answers, what everything I want to know, I don't know what you're talking about..."

"Master, Teacher Bai Wei asked to tell you this."

Yaoyao smiled gently at the dumbfounded ng Lian.

"She said, go to Nordlin. Nordlin holds all the answers you seek."

Hearing this, ng Lian's breathing instantly beca rapid.

It was Bai Wei!

That Teacher Bai Wei who was suspected of being an undercover agent!

Why? Why would the other party have Yaoyao tell her such a thing?

Could she know my identity?

Then why didn't she reveal her identity from the start? Why wait until now?

Could it be that I really wasn't abandoned, and everything was just my wild imagination?

ng Lian suddenly felt a wave of fear. She didn't dare look at Yaoyao. She was afraid this was a trap, afraid that once she jumped in, there would be no coming back.

"Haha, Yaoyao, you're too good at joking. Teacher Bai Wei..."

"Andra Galaxy."

At this mont, Yaoyao suddenly spoke a place na, one that ng Lian had morized thoroughly from her falsified identity.

Yaoyao ignored the shocked ng Lian and continued, "No one would write the na of their childhood ho wrong. Andra versus Andera, a difference of one character, yet worlds apart."

The unease in ng Lian's heart was rapidly expanding. She suddenly rembered a very strange question Bai Wei had asked her before.

"ng Lian, are you interested in star navigation?"

At this mont, ng Lian felt like she had been struck hard by a giant hamr. Cold sweat covered her forehead.

Star navigation, star navigation, star navigation!

Was Bai Wei hinting at her?

Her falsified docunts had traps?

ng Lian's trembling hand pulled out her phone and searched for Andera. Instantly, a three-dinsional star navigation map appeared.

There was also a string of introduction beside it. ng Lian quickly skimd through it, then her gaze fixed dead on one sentence, her pupils contracting sharply.

"Andera Galaxy successfully achieved total witch conversion in Star Calendar year 19876, actively responding to the Universal Witch Conversion Project, becoming an inseparable part of the Witch Empire!"

ng Lian felt dizzy. The Andera Galaxy was entirely composed of witches. How could she possibly co from the Andera Galaxy?

One had to understand that witch academies like the one ng Lian attended only accepted students of other races who were not witches. Those from witch families had their own schools.

And how could soone write the na of the place they grew up in wrong?

In other words, if a witch happened to co from the Andera Galaxy, or was thoroughly familiar with star navigation, she would imdiately identify ng Lian's docunts as fake.

And forging fake docunts to apply to a witch academy, that didn't seem right no matter how you thought about it.

"Why?"

ng Lian's ears rang. She collapsed dizzily onto the bed. She had now vaguely realized that being abandoned might not be the worst outco.

What if soone wanted to harm her? What if soone wanted her dead?

But why?

She was just an orphan with nothing worth coveting. Why would soone go to such great lengths to lure her to the witches, and then use the witches' hands to eliminate her?

Wasn't that too much trouble?

Couldn't they just kill her directly in the Alliance?

Wait, unless there was sothing about her that they feared.

ng Lian suddenly had an "epiphany."

Xiao Zi!

It was Xiao Zi!

Right, that's it. Xiao Zi was a Nascent Soul cultivator. The other party definitely wouldn't dare make a move against her directly, so they had to use this thod to lure her away.

And the other party's true goal...

Was Xiao Zi!

A trace of killing intent flashed through ng Lian's eyes. The most precious thing in this world to her was Xiao Zi. Other than Xiao Zi, she couldn't imagine what the other party could possibly want from her.

Surely not her boring job?

Unless that person was sick in the head.

After thinking it over, ng Lian could only conclude that the person had designs on ng Zi, and she herself was the stumbling block. Maybe that person was using her whereabouts to threaten ng Zi, forcing Xiao Zi to do things she didn't want to do.

"You wouldn't want your brother..."

Aaaaaah, bastard! If you dare touch a single hair on Xiao Zi, I'll fucking slaughter your entire family!

Killing intent surged in ng Lian's heart. If the other party's target really was Xiao Zi, she would definitely find a way to kill their entire family.

But she was among the witches right now. How could she go back?

ng Lian paced anxiously around the room. Yaoyao watched, completely bewildered.

This wasn't right. Why was Master's reaction so strange?

According to Bai Wei's earlier speculation, ng Lian should be extrely depressed right now, then impatiently enter Nordlin to find the answers Bai Wei had prepared for her.

Why was ng Lian now muttering nothing but "kill you," "fuck your mother," and "fuck your mom" over and over?

Yaoyao couldn't figure out which step had gone wrong. She could only fly in front of the now-deranged ng Lian and try to snap her out of it.

"Master, Master, wake up. All your guesses right now are just wild speculation. The truth of everything is in Nordlin. Maybe things aren't as you imagine."

Her words woke the drear. ng Lian suddenly snapped back to reality.

She had indeed panicked earlier. But when it involved Xiao Zi, her rationality instantly hit zero, and she couldn't calm down at all.

"Why does it have to be in Nordlin? Why not just tell directly?"

ng Lian's eyes reddened. Why was everyone so cryptic? Things that could be settled in a sentence or two, why go through so much trouble?

If this were a novel, wouldn't this be so unscrupulous lazy author forcibly padding the word count?

Yaoyao didn't speak. She glanced at the Sky Mirage True Demon Technique on the cabinet nearby. Seeing this, ng Lian also fell silent.

She had forgotten. She was in the Witch Academy right now, surrounded by witches. The walls had ears.

And Nordlin was a phantom realm that transcended the real world. Exchanging information inside it couldn't be more suitable.

ng Lian took a deep breath. For the truth, for Xiao Zi, she had to venture into this Nordlin.

"Co then... Nordlin!"
