Chapter 76
Actually, She Really Likes Sister Jessica
“Ahhhhh!” Only after the man clearly saw Jessica’s face did he feel the excruciating pain coming from his hand.
Clutching his severed hand, he knelt on the ground, screaming in agony.
Everyone looked over in terror, their faces filled with shock.
“You… who are you?!”
They pointed their weapons at Jessica, their voices tinged with panic.
Hearing their words, Jessica’s gaze grew even colder.
These imperial soldiers in front of her didn’t even recognize her. They were probably just impersonating soldiers to do such things.
“Imp impersonating imperial soldiers is already a cri. Now you’re using this identity to deal with a group of unard children? Calling you scum would be too kind!”
Jessica wiped the blood off her sword and stepped closer to them.
“Brothers, don’t be afraid! This woman is delicate and tender. If we can capture her, she’ll be perfect for—”
Before he could finish speaking, a blade accompanied by flas swept past his throat. The searing wound emitted white smoke as his head rolled to the feet of one of the n.
The remaining few tried to rush forward, their weapons aid at Jessica’s head.
But Jessica gave them no chance.
With a cold shout, she spun around, her sword drawing a bright, full-moon-like arc. The scorching flas burst forth with a blinding light, lting their weapons.
Simultaneously, her sword cut several of them in half at the waist, splattering blood throughout the room.

Blood dripped onto Jessica’s cheek. Her cold gaze remained fixed on the last man.
The man imdiately dropped his weapon and knelt on the ground, begging for rcy.
“Don’t kill ! I was just following orders!”
“Who ordered you to do this?”
“It… it was the director of the orphanage! He was the one who ordered to do all this!”
The man kowtowed frantically on the ground, appearing utterly terrified.
But his hand slowly moved behind his back, towards a magic-powered bomb hidden at his waist.
Jessica’s pupils contracted sharply. Her sword precisely pierced the man’s palm.
A scream of agony echoed through the entire room.
“Stubborn fool! You beasts deserve to go to hell!”
Jessica swung her sword, the scorching flas burning the man’s body.
He scread in pain, cursing viciously all the while.
But as his voice grew weaker, all that remained on the ground was a charred corpse.
After confirming that no one else was around, Jessica finally sheathed her sword and hurried anxiously to the gap.
She saw the children looking up at her nervously.
When they saw Jessica, so of the children couldn’t hold back their tears and cried out her na.
After confirming Jessica’s presence, Milu’s legs went weak, and she slumped to the ground.
At the sa ti, she felt relieved. If Jessica hadn’t appeared, they all would have died here.

The frightened children gathered around Jessica, their small hands tightly clutching the hem of her clothes, unwilling to let go.
They were afraid Jessica would leave them.
The appearance of those people earlier had terrified them.
Milu leaned silently in the corner, watching the Magic Knights clean up the scene, her eyes still filled with caution.
She didn’t trust the empire’s soldiers.
But as she watched Jessica comforting the children, Milu bit her lip, unsure of what to say.
Yes, in her heart, Jessica was soone worthy of trust.
She was not only Aunt Eliana’s daughter but also their savior.
“Milu, are you okay?”
Jessica’s voice snapped Milu out of her thoughts.
Seeing Jessica’s smile, Milu seed a bit flustered.
“Sister Milu is shy.”
“Actually, she really likes Sister Jessica.”
“Shut up!”
Milu’s face flushed red as she retorted stiffly.
A gentle smile appeared on Jessica’s face.

Seeing Jessica’s smile, Milu was montarily dazed.
She really looked like Aunt Eliana…
Tears unconsciously fell from the corners of Milu’s eyes, and her expression beca sowhat vacant.
Seeing this, Jessica grew anxious.
“Milu, what… what’s wrong? Are you hurt sowhere?”
Jessica nervously stepped forward to check, worried that Milu might be injured but hadn’t said anything.
But Milu just shook her head without saying a word.
She simply reached out and hugged Jessica, burying her head in her chest.
Jessica was montarily stunned, then embraced her in return.
The other children all ca forward, gathering around Jessica.
The Magic Knights who witnessed this scene couldn’t help but smile.
This was the Princess Jessica they recognized.
Although they didn’t know why the King had imprisoned Princess Jessica, to them, Princess Jessica was the one they acknowledged.
“Speaking of which, if Her Highness the Princess escaped without permission, she’ll probably be punished by the King, right?”
“Actually, I think since Queen Eliana passed away, the King’s ntal state seems to have deteriorated significantly.”
“I feel the sa way. Even the Royal Knights around him seem to have changed.”
“Sigh, I really don’t know what will beco of this country in the future. I never want to experience turmoil again.”
“My relatives in Caucasus City haven’t written for a long ti. I plan to visit them after my vacation.”
The Magic Knights were still discussing sothing.
But the leader had already walked up to Jessica to report.
“Your Highness, we have identified these people. They seem to be mbers of a cult from sowhere, not soldiers of our empire. This incident proves there are traitors within the empire!”
“Roger, investigate who is behind this.”
“Understood, Your Highness. But you…”
Roger looked at Jessica, his face full of concern.
They didn’t want anything to happen to Princess Jessica.
“Don’t worry, this ti I won’t give anyone another chance, not even His Majesty the King.”
Jessica’s gaze was resolute, as if she had made so decision.
Hearing Jessica’s words, Roger was shocked.
But he said nothing more and silently retreated.
“I wonder how Henry is doing now. He should be fine, right? Yes, he will definitely be fine.”
Jessica silently prayed in her heart.
She prayed for Henry’s safe return.
By tomorrow, she would definitely clear Henry’s na and pull that person down from the throne!
At the sa ti, inside the palace.

Joseph held Selina’s waist, unable to sleep for a long ti.
He felt sowhat uneasy inside, as if sothing major was about to happen.
As if sensing Joseph’s restlessness.
Selina’s enchanting voice sounded by his ear.
“What’s wrong, Your Majesty? Can’t sleep even after such intense exercise?”
“You little minx, you’ve almost drained dry. But I just feel a bit uneasy.”
“What is there to be uneasy about? Tomorrow, Your Majesty, you will announce as your wife. By then, we will provide you with even more assistance.”
Selina’s fingertips traced over Joseph’s obese body, causing him to shudder.
Joseph cast aside his unease, turned over, and pressed Selina down.
But Joseph didn’t notice that a pair of lifeless eyes in the wardrobe were watching this scene.
