Chapter 133

Batman, You’re Really Amazing!

Trying to reason with idiots is utterly useless, especially when dealing with idiots who have brawn but no brains.

Henry had long known this fact, so he never intended to convince these people.

He just also understood Cliff’s dilemma.

Perhaps in Cliff’s heart, magic simply wasn’t ant to be used on ordinary people.

If Cliff was willing, these so-called adventurers before them could be blasted to smithereens in an instant.

But if she really did that, then she wouldn’t be Cliff anymore.

That’s why Henry asked Cliff to demonstrate her magic to them.

However, faced with Henry’s request, Cliff seed hesitant.

She quickly ran to Henry’s side and whispered cautiously.

“This… my magic can’t be used on ordinary people. They wouldn’t be able to withstand it.”

“Then just control your magical power, make them feel how powerful you are, isn’t that enough? Surely you can manage sothing that simple?”

Even his teacher Reina could control her magical power with precision. Henry didn’t believe Cliff couldn’t do the sa.

The strength of a legendary magician was far more than this.

Hearing Henry’s suggestion, Cliff’s eyes lit up.

Why hadn’t she thought of this thod before?

The adventurers, however, listening to Henry and Cliff’s conversation, couldn’t hold back their laughter.

Magical power? Magic?

Wasn’t that just the wild imagination of children?

How could such things possibly exist in the world?

“Hey, kid. Take the reward and go ho. Your mom will get angry if you’re late.”

“That’s right, you don’t want a spanking, do you?”

The crowd roared with laughter.

They watched as Cliff slowly raised her hand, graceful as if performing a salute.

Suddenly, a mug floated past one man’s eyes, the beer inside sloshing through the air.

The receptionist at the front desk widened her eyes, staring at the scene before her in disbelief.

Such a near-miracle was actually happening right before her eyes, startling her so much she subconsciously dropped to her knees.

Simultaneously, the other adventurers also looked at Cliff with panicked eyes.

In their view, everything Cliff did shattered their understanding.

Magic only existed in legends.

But now that it had truly appeared before them, the impact was simply too great.

So rolled their eyes back and fainted on the spot, while others muttered under their breath that Cliff was the holy child of God.

In short, the entire Adventurers’ Association descended into chaos.

“Alright, let them down now.”

Henry patted Cliff’s shoulder, signaling her to stop.

Cliff quickly returned everything to its original place, then looked shyly at Henry and asked.

“Is that good enough?”

“You did great. I’ll get you extra at later.”

“Really? I haven’t had at in so long, sob sob.”

Hearing there would be roast at, Cliff’s face was full of piety. One wonders what kind of hard life she had been living before.

Henry walked straight to the front desk and knocked on the counter, snapping the still-dazed receptionist out of her stupor.

“So, do you need any more proof from us?”

“N-no! So magic really exists in reality! This is very important, I must inform the other Adventurers’ Associations! Also, esteed adventurers, we will now proceed to upgrade your adventurer ranks!”

Smoothly, Cliff had her rank upgraded to S-class. Since Henry had just registered, he didn’t qualify for a rank yet.

But Henry didn’t particularly care about that.

After all, the na he registered under was Batman. Having a rank or not didn’t really matter.

What was important was that they could finally get the high commission reward!

However, they heard that in a few days the Adventurers’ Association would send soone to test Cliff’s abilities, as one couldn’t just get the S-rank casually; a test was necessary.

Cliff agreed and decided to stay in the village for a few days.

Before leaving, Henry kindly reminded the adventurers inside.

“Oh, and a friendly reminder: there’s a monster deep in the Deathwhisper Forest. If you don’t want to throw your lives away for nothing, don’t go into the Deathwhisper Forest at night.”

Henry didn’t want people to die for no reason either.

Of course, if soone really wanted to go seek death, Henry wouldn’t stop them. After all, he had seen too many fools like that.

They always thought they were more badass than everyone else in the world, only to get kicked to death when they actually encountered a powerful enemy.

Without even a chance to regret it.

Cliff followed behind Henry. She poked Henry’s shoulder with her finger and asked quietly.

“How did you know there’s a monster in that forest?”

“Guessed.” Henry didn’t tell the truth, instead fabricating a reasonable excuse. “When I got lost in that forest before, I heard monster sounds. By the ti I got to the scene, many animals were already dead there.”

“Batman, you’re really amazing!” Cliff’s eyes sparkled with admiration, seemingly quite in awe of Henry.

“Actually, there really is a powerful monster in that forest. I can sense it; it was probably created by Dark Magic. But it’s been hiding from , and I’ve had a hard ti finding its trail.”

Saying this, Cliff looked a bit frustrated.

Henry, however, stared gravely at the harmless-looking young girl before him.

Henry knew exactly how difficult that Death Knight was to deal with, yet the other party was actually hiding from Cliff.

Just how strong was Cliff’s true power?

Henry didn’t dare to imagine. She should be stronger than Lady Reina, right?

But she’s only a young girl’s age…

Having Cliff by his side made Henry feel very secure.

The only thing to worry about now was her being poached by others.

No good, he absolutely had to keep this human-shaped Gundam by his side!

“Let’s go, let’s go, let’s eat roast at!”

“Roast at! Roast at!”

When the fragrant roast at was placed on the table, Cliff’s tears mixed with drool instantly stread down.

Who knows what hardships she had endured during this ti, to react like this at the sight of roast at.

She piously said a prayer, then carefully cut a piece of at and put it in her mouth.

Instantly, she let out a soft hum. The expression of soone ascending to heaven made Henry’s mouth twitch involuntarily.

“This is the taste! The flavor of roast at is just too divine.”

“Is it that exaggerated?”

“It is! The aroma of roast at is sacred, not to be profaned!”

Cliff raised her fork, refuting Henry righteously.

This was one of the few tis she dared to stand up to Henry.

But just as the two were eating, people soon gathered around them.

“Miss Cliff, please form a team with !”

See, the young lady’s appeal was just that powerful.
