Chapter 111
Their Respective Choices
Honestly, Henry hadn’t expected that Ruf, who seed quite sleazy, would charge out at this critical mont to save Hebeth.
Perhaps their relationship was quite good, which was why he acted so decisively when Hebeth was in danger.
Henry’s opinion of Ruf improved slightly.
The two sat back-to-back on the ground, sweat streaming continuously down their foreheads.
Henry, however, calmly stepped out from behind the trees.
He clapped, genuinely happy for the two of them.
“Truly excellent coordination. With tacit understanding like yours, you should be able to survive for quite so ti in the Demon Forest.”
The teachers watching this scene from outside unanimously felt that Henry seed like he had co to reap their lives.
He gave off a distinct vibe of an evil major antagonist.
But Henry stepped forward, reached out a hand to pull the two to their feet, and then looked into the distance.
He could sense that in that direction, a powerful force was spreading.
****
A formidable Lightning Magic spell instantly pierced through a monster.
The monster slowly fell down, finally turning to ashes and disappearing before everyone’s eyes.
The ground was littered with monster corpses, and many students were panting heavily, seemingly having expended a great deal of stamina in the previous battle.
Luning drank a bottle of alchemical potion to replenish his magic power. His nearly depleted magic power was instantly replenished.
This move also drew envious looks from the other students.
This was the resources provided to Luning by the Rulter family.
They usually couldn’t bear to drink such luxurious alchemical potions, but during the test, Luning downed an entire bottle without a second thought.
“The monsters here are mostly cleared. Prepare to move to the next area.”
Luning’s icy words caused dissatisfaction among many students.
They had just put in so much effort, yet Luning treated them like tools, completely disregarding their condition.
“Luning, we need to rest!”
Soone stepped forward to refute Luning’s words.
But what greeted him was a fierce Lightning Spear!
The golden Lightning Spear pierced through the student’s chest. Under the student’s incredulous gaze, he saw the gloom in Luning’s eyes.
“Since you chose to follow , you must act according to my commands. Anyone who disobeys will end up like him.”
With that, Luning walked forward without looking back, leaving only that student to turn into points of light and vanish on the spot.
The remaining students couldn’t help but swallow hard.
They never imagined Luning would be so decisive, not even sparing a fellow student…
Right now, Luning had no interest in caring about these people’s lives or deaths.
He only knew that Henry would also participate in this class test!
He absolutely had to prove his ability in this test, and to that end, he would personally eliminate Henry!
As for the great fire in the Demon Forest, he didn’t care at all.
Luning gripped his magic staff tightly, eagerly wanting to find Henry’s traces.
“That Luning kid, his thods are a bit too heavy-handed,” comnted one teacher on Luning’s character.
“After all, he’s the heir chosen by Rulter. His personality is sowhat like Lore’s. Moreover, Henry is also in this test; he probably wants to defeat him face-to-face.”
“But he didn’t need to be so harsh on a fellow student, did he? They were companions just a second ago.”
“I actually quite agree with his approach. A team can’t have too much dissenting noise. To achieve success, everyone must follow the commander’s orders.”
The teachers debated amongst themselves.
So thought Luning’s thods were too extre, while others thought they were fine.
Lena sat next to rlin, looking displeased at Luning.
She always felt Luning was like a poser, putting on a cold face at the drop of a hat, not knowing who he was trying to impress.
anwhile, Henry was always smiling, seeming carefree.
It was hard to tell who was really Lore’s biological son.
“Professor Lena, who do you think will last the longest in this mory Fragnt?” rlin played with his white beard, looking at the screens with a smile.
He didn’t seem inclined to offer any opinion.
“Teacher, your views are too old-fashioned. Can’t you allow for a student to clear this test?”
“Oh? And this student you speak of is…”
“It’s .”
Lena refused to humor rlin and turned back to watch Henry’s screen.
rlin stroked his beard and said to himself, “This batch of students all seem to have their own ideas. Good, very good.”
Suddenly, a teacher alerted the others. “They seem to have found the source.”
The voice drew everyone’s gaze to one of the screens.
The students on the screen were Henry’s trio.
Hebeth seed to hear a girl’s cry for help from ahead.
She ran towards the sound without looking back, with Ruf closely following behind.
Henry, however, rode his Flying Sword high into the air to survey the situation from above.
By the ti Ruf and the others arrived, a girl in red clothes was on the ground, scrambling backward.
Her eyes were filled with terror, tears continuously streaming from the corners.
“No… Don’t kill !”
Before her, a giant Goblin nearly four ters tall was brandishing a spiked club, step by step approaching her.
But the sudden appearance of Hebeth and Ruf made it stop.
Its muddy eyes fixed intently on the two.
“Scram… off.”
It spoke human words, sending chills down their spines.
They hadn’t known this beast-like Goblin could speak!
“You’re the one who should scram!”
Ruf deployed a barrier, shielding the two behind him, while Hebeth pulled the girl behind herself.
But she was surprised to find that the girl was actually an Elf!
The pointed ears were the best proof.
Hebeth imdiately realized this girl must be one of the individuals who experienced the Demon Forest back then!
But before she could inquire for relevant information,
The Goblin raised its club and smashed it against the barrier.
The barrier instantly deford into an exaggerated concave arc, the runic patterns flickering violently under the imnse impact, as if on the verge of shattering the next second.
Ruf’s face turned red with strain, veins bulging on his temples. He pressed his hands hard against the constantly vibrating edges of the barrier, his knuckles white from the effort.
It was his first ti encountering such a humanoid monster, startling him into a cold sweat.
The Goblin let out a low roar, its arm muscles bulging, and raised the club to smash the barrier again.
This ti, Ruf could no longer hold on and was sent flying backward.
Ruf spat out blood, his eyes fixed intently on the Goblin.
This Goblin definitely had the strength of a mid-tier monster!
“Hebeth, run with her, now! This guy is beyond us!”
He quickly made a decision, the determination on his face a stark contrast to his initial sleaziness.
“Hmm… To recognize the disparity in strength so quickly, you’re quite smart.”
Before Ruf could react to who was speaking, he was thrown out, rolling straight to Hebeth’s side.
The three of them looked at the person now standing in front of them, their expressions surprised.
“Classmate Henry?”
