The silence that followed was deafening, broken only by the heavy breathing of the Goblin King who exclaid, "Impossible!"

"Your reaction is answer enough," Leo said, his voice calm, yet sending shivers down the goblin’s spine. "A reincarnator with a predictive simulation system. No wonder..."

Skivv’s breath hitched. System. He knows about the system. Panic, cold and absolute, gripped his heart. For centuries, his Simulation System had been his ultimate cheat.

It allowed him to foresee every assassination attempt, every political betrayal, and every dungeon boss’s attack pattern. It was the absolute authority of his life, the foundation of his demihuman utopia.

But right now, as he frantically tried to run a simulation for his survival, the system returned nothing but terrifying red text. He didn’t have enough points to perform a new simulation. He had already exhausted everything.

"How..." Skivv coughed, spitting out a mouthful of blackened blood. His healing factor was kicking in, regenerating the charred muscles of his legs, but it wasn’t fast enough.

"How could you possibly know that? Are you... are you like ? A reincarnator?"

Leo didn’t answer imdiately. He took a slow step forward, his boots crunching against the charred soil that used to be the mountain.

"Your system is quite fascinating. I can’t help but think how useful it would have been for ." Leo said, ignoring the goblin’s question.

Although he said that, if he had to choose between the two, he would have still chosen his wealth system.

Sotis, even after knowing the future, one couldn’t really change it. It was especially the case if the person was in the modern era where almost everything was possible, while they possessed nothing.

anwhile his wealth system could imdiately help him.

If he had the simulation system instead of his wealth system, Leo believed that he would still be struggling on earth, far from achieving the success he did in this life

The simulation system was only good as an auxiliary system in his eyes. That’s why he held quite a lot of respect for the Goblin, who had managed to use that sa system to rise to the top as a re goblin.

Still, just because he held so respect, it didn’t an he wasn’t going to complete the task of stealing that new auxiliary system. After all, who wouldn’t like to have more features if they could.

Even though the simulation system didn’t give him any money, or any real help, but it was still no different than being omnipotent and having multiple lives.

The only problem was that the system itself wasn’t omnipotent. If that was the case, why wouldn’t it see his presence and influence?

It was that confidence that had blinded the goblin king. It could also be said to be the simulation system’s fault that he was in such a condition.

Even if he was to get it, Leo was certain that he couldn’t completely rely on it like a gospel. There were definitely many things that it couldn’t see or consider.

As for the reason this goblin’s system couldn’t see him... Leo simply thought that it was because he had the shield of a system himself, and his appeared to be an even higher tier one.

What he couldn’t be certain was, if there were more people in this universe and beyond with such things.

In that case, there were definitely going to be many flaws in simulations, but having it was still better than not having it. He just had to be cautious to not make the sa mistake as the little goblin who once ruled a massive empire but was at his rcy now.

"It calculates physical laws and the local tiline. But it cannot predict what exists entirely outside of its jurisdiction. I could have said it was a pity to have such a flaw, but since it was what helped , it’s a good flaw."

Skivv’s eyes darted frantically toward the portal. It was glowing with a faint blue light. Just three ters. If he could just bypass this person... He could truly escape.

As for fighting, the young goblin was really conflicted.

"Wait! Listen to !" Skivv yelled, raising his half-healed hands in a placating gesture. He forced a pathetic, desperate smile onto his face.

"If you know what I am, you know my value! You have a ship, you have power, but I have the knowledge of an entire world! My empire, my resources, my won... I can give you everything! We can form an alliance. You don’t have to kill !"

"An alliance?" Leo’s lips curled into a faint, mocking smile. "What makes you think I have any use for all that?"

Skivv’s eyes flashed with a vicious desperation. He realized diplomacy was dead. In a split second, he abandoned his groveling facade.

Pushing all of his rapidly recovering mana into his legs, the Goblin King exploded forward. He didn’t attack Leo. Without knowing anything about that person or his ans, he knew that would be suicide.

Instead, he coated his body in a high-tier wind barrier, intending to slip past Leo like a ghost and dive straight into the portal.

Just two ters! One ter!

Skivv could almost feel the spatial distortion of the portal wrapping around him. He had made it. He was going to live.

Clang.

Just then, a sound ca which wasn’t too loud.

Skivv felt his montum completely halt, as if he had slamd headfirst into an invisible mountain. The wind barrier shattered into specks of useless light.

He fell backward, gasping for air as an invisible, crushing pressure forced him into the dirt. He tried to lift his head, but gravity itself seed to have turned against him, pinning him to the ground just inches away from the portal’s edge.

Leo lowered his outstretched hand, clapping lightly. "Good attempt. You almost had it."

However, the smile on his face soon disappeared, replaced by mockery. "You still don’t understand your position, Skivv."

Leo stepped over the goblin’s paralyzed body and stood directly in front of the portal. "I didn’t lay this trap to conquer your world. I laid this trap for you. Do you really think I would let you escape?"

"And unfortunately for you," Leo mumbled, pressing the device against the goblin’s forehead, "the extraction process requires the host to be permanently disconnected..."

Skivv’s eyes widened in ultimate horror as his vision faded to white, the final sound reaching his ears being the cold voice of Leo as his body started losing life force.

He couldn’t believe it. After all this ti, after all this fighting... He was going to die... And that too because of a human he saw for the first ti?
