"Honestly," he muttered to himself, secretly keeping the ring in his pockets.
He adjusted the explosive collar which was digging into his neck, leaving barely any room for even a finger between the collar and his throat.
He started walking deeper into the hall. It didn’t take long for the locals to notice the new arrival.
A massive, three-eyed alien with biceps the size of Leo’s torso stepped into his path. The creature, filled with scars, was currently picking his teeth with what looked like a shard of a bone fragnt.
"New at," the giant said, his voice sounding like soone was scratching a board with their nails. "You. Give your boots."
Leo stopped and looked down at his boots. Then he looked at the giant’s feet, which were roughly the size of small hovercrafts.
"My boots? Buddy, you’re a size fifty-eight and I’m a ten. Let’s use our logic centers here."
The giant blinked all three eyes in confusion. "I... take boots. I give to boss. Boss happy...’
"Listen, I’m in a bit of a mood. I’ve just been dragged down forty flights of stairs by a man with the personality of a brick. How about I give you a better offer?"
Leo leaned in, and said, "You should treat with more respect. I have been here longer than you have been alive."
The three eyed giant frowned, and exclaid, "You new here... How long? Boss longest here!"
"Hah... As I thought, you are very naive. It looks like that’s as far as your thinking goes."
Leo shook his head with disappointnt. He jumped lightly, looking quite funny for a mont as he tried to pat the giant’s shoulder.
"I have been locked up in the lowest floors of this prison for thousands of years. In fact, I was the first prisoner that was brought here when this prison was created."
Leo walked past the guard, keeping his hand behind his back like an experienced warrior.
His face didn’t show even the slightest fear, as if he had truly embraced the lies that he was planning to spread here.
In a place like this, there was only one way to protect himself. Before others could ss with him, he had to ss with them. He had to give them a psychological scar, so that they would know that he was dangerous.
"Lowest floors... You? How you here? I hard to believe..." The giant stared at Leo’s back in disbelief, following after him.
Even he had heard about the hierarchy of the prison. The lowest levels of this prison were reserved for entities that could threaten an entire space sector and beyond. They are truly gods amongst people.
Although the prisoners of this floor had only heard about the lower floors, they had never seen it. After all, prisoners on any floor couldn’t move to another floor.
Throughout these years, stories about the lower floors had only increased.
"Now, point toward the quietest corner of this dump. I have a very important date with a dium-rare steak and a high-definition screen, and I’d prefer not to be interrupted by any more of you people."
As the giant stood there, buffering like a slow internet connection, Leo strolled past him. He found a relatively empty space behind a pillar that looked sturdy enough to withstand a riot.
Sitting down and leaning against the cold stone, Leo checked his surroundings one last ti. To the other prisoners, he just looked like another broken man hiding in the dark.
"Why are you following ?" he suddenly asked, seeing a giant trying to peek at him from behind a pillar.
’Does he really think that a pillar can hide his body?’ Leo shook his head lightly, not knowing if he should laugh or cry at the innocence of the three eyed giant.
In any case, a person like this was perfect for his goals. After all, he didn’t plan to just sit idly in this prison. This prison was an opportunity for him to get what he had long been looking for.
That’s why Leo wasn’t in a hurry to leave.
"You... Really from the lower floor? How you on this floor? How you no boom?" The giant asked, in his broken language.
After all, even he knew that a prisoner, no matter from which floor, shouldn’t be able to move to another floor. Their bodies would simply explode.
"This little toy? Do you think this can block soone like ?" Leo lazily asked, lightly tapping against his collar. "I just blocked its energy signatures, blocking its ability to sense anything. It’s too technical for your little brain to understand."
"As for why I ca here... Let’s just say, I was getting bored on the lower floor, so I ca here for a little change of scenery," he further exclaid, building up on the lie.
"Now go away, and don’t disturb ..." Leo slowly closed his eyes, and stopped paying attention to the giant.
The giant looked at Leo. He felt his head heard, as these things were too much to process for his little brain.
"I should tell boss. He will do the thinking for !" The giant slowly turned around, and walked away to talk to the person he called boss.
Once the giant was far enough, Leo slowly opened his eyes and smiled. "I wonder who this boss is? Is he soone that’s the leader of this floor’s prisoners? If yes, then it might be easier than I thought."
Leo started observing his surroundings. He pretended that he was looking at the prisoners, but in reality, he was trying to see if there were any visible caras.
Fortunately, he was in an isolated corner, so the chances of one being present were really low.
Still, he didn’t do anything suspicious for the rest of the day. He only remained seated, as if he was either sleeping or ditating.
The other prisoners were curious about him, but none of them actually disturbed him for now. It was especially the case since the giant couldn’t keep his mouth shut.
Even on his way back, he told everyone what he had heard from Leo, and thus the story about Leo being the oldest prisoner in this place who could control these shackles, spread.
