"There shouldn’t be a problem, right?" Selene repeated, her voice as light as a sumr breeze, yet to Leo, it sounded like the closing of a vault door.
"N-no. No problem at all," Leo stamred, his brain currently performing the ntal equivalent of an ancient windows blue screen of death.
"I’m practically a professional at... keeping people entertained. It’s in my contract. Probably."
"Alright," Selene nodded. "Co, I will also introduce you to my daughter."
She reached out, her fingers hovering near his elbow as if she were afraid he might spontaneously combust if she touched him too hard.
"Walk slowly. I wouldn’t want the air resistance to be too much for your lungs."
’Lady, I’m really not that frail. Can you stop treating like I’m made of clay?’ Leo shook his head lightly, but he still followed her.
He still wasn’t certain if she knew his association with Necropolis yet. For now, he could only hope that she didn’t, and she was just being willful since she wasn’t accustod to seeing humans.
As soone that lived on an Ancient Planet that hadn’t made an appearance in a long ti, he was like a novelty for her, a creature that was the most intriguing in the universe in certain ways.
"You have really beautiful eyes." Selene said out of nowhere, making Leo montarily pause.
Was she really complinting him out of nowhere? She truly was an intriguing girl, and in so ways, quite unexpected.
"You’re also very pretty." Leo fired a complint back.
"Am I?" Selene shook her head lightly, but didn’t comnt on it any further.
"You are... Believe , I’m not trying to flirt with you when I say that you are probably the prettiest person I have seen," Leo said, expressing his honest thoughts.
There truly was no lust for beauty in his eyes. It was truly a genuine appreciation.
Selene didn’t reply. She just walked in silence until she reached her private room.
She waved her hand lightly, and an invisible force pushed the door open.
With silent steps, she entered the room. Leo also followed behind, regretting ever taking a step out of his own private room out of boredom.
’Wait a minute, isn’t that girl...?’
The mont his eyes fell on Selene’s daughter, he subconsciously lowered his head. The girl that was looking back at them, was none other than the person he had seen at the Galactic Union when he was hiding his face.
’She shouldn’t be able to recognise , right?’ He thought, rembering that the clothes given by Necropolis had features that allowed him to hide his aura and his face.
The only thing those clothes couldn’t hide was his voice and his physique. That’s why he had to speak in a heavy voice when he was talking with Blaze as an Envoy.
He didn’t use any such heavy voice when aura farming before the girl in Galactic Union.
"When you co for the King, you better not miss..." He even rembered the words that he had spoken to flex a little.
"Mother, who is this person?" The girl that looked only slightly younger than Selene stood up.
In the blink of an eye, she was right before Leo, looking straight in his eyes.
"Have we t before?" Her eyes narrowed as she asked. "I feel like we did."
Leo quickly shook his head, not even daring to speak as he was worried about being recognized.
He had used his real voice with Selene as Leo. He had also used his real voice with this girl as the envoy.
He couldn’t fake his voice for the girl, only to be questioned by Selene. For now, he could only pretend to be unable to speak.
"Can you not speak?" the girl asked Leo, who nodded repeatedly.
The girl’s frown deepened as she started circling around Leo.
She took a few steps back and started at Leo’s back, his face growing more and more serious.
"Hmm? You know what, if you had a black cloak, and a mask... You would appear just like that Necropolis Envoy."
Hearing her words, Leo gulped heavily. How could she recognise him just based on his physique? What nonsense was that? Was it really that easy?
Then what was the point of him going so far as to cover every inch of his body when he was in disguise.
"How strange... If we add a sword on your back... I swear you would appear just like that person from this angle," the girl further said. "No, you’re a human. It can’t be, right? Is it just a coincidence?"
’You bet your ass it’s a coincidence! Do I look like soone who will carry a sword? I haven’t even seen a sword in my entire life. I don’t even know how to spell the word, let alone carry it!’
Leo wanted to fire back, but he couldn’t even retort, as it would only further convince this girl with his voice.
"Who are you talking about? Have you two really t each other before?" Selene asked, taking a seat on the sofa.
Leo fiercely shook his head. He had a look of innocence on his face, as if he was being falsely implicated.
’You rember I told you about that strange envoy of Necropolis, who was looking for the Celestial Lotus? That who this person reminds of," the girl insisted, her instincts being as sharp as a fierce beast.
She studied Leo’s every reaction, searching for any flicker of recognition.
"The Envoy of Necropolis that you guessed to be an Elder of Necropolis?" Selene asked, rembering the story that she was told, which included every word spoken by the so-called envoy.
"That’s right. I don’t know why, but the mont I saw him, the image of that envoy ca to my mind. You know my instincts have always been sharp. It’s like an innate ability of mine," the girl nodded.
"This person is... from Necropolis?" she further asked, almost looking at Leo with hostility.
