The demon boy still in his human guise smiled.
It was a flash of white teeth in his brown-tinted face. He looked at Adam who was now free from the paralyzing Ti Stop spell.
"I haven’t introduced myself yet," he said his voice smooth and confident. "My na is Void."
The second-year student from the Red Team the one who had cast the "Ti Stop" spell stared at them in utter disbelief.
He was completely flabbergasted.
He could not believe that his most powerful magical spell his signature technique the one he was famous for had been so easily and so quickly broken by a re first-year student.
A mixture of profound surprise and a dawning fear was evident on his face.
He had never seen anyone break his spell like that before let alone a newcor.
Killua the representative of the Golden Team the yellow-banded faction had been watching everything closely.
Seeing his Red Team rival’s spell fail so spectacularly he gave a sharp decisive nod to the mbers of his own faction.
He was not going to let this arrogant upstart Eric and his mysterious new ally embarrass all the upperclassn any further. It was ti for his group to take action.
Instantly two students from the Golden Team leaped into action.
They moved with incredible speed. Their bodies blurred as they launched themselves into the air.
They were covering the distance to Adam and Void in a matter of just a few seconds. They were very fast.
One of the Golden Team students a lithe agile fighter with a slim build targeted Void.
He raised his leg high for a powerful kick. It was aid directly at Void’s head.
Simultaneously at the exact sa mont the other Golden Team student a more powerfully built individual shot through the air above Adam.
He brought his fist down in a devastating hamr blow. It was aid directly at the top of Adam’s skull.
It was a coordinated two-pronged attack ant to overwhelm and defeat them both at the sa ti.
But Adam and Void though they had been looking at each other just a mont before both sensed the incoming attacks. Their reactions were preternaturally fast.
They were unnaturally quick. It was a synchronized display of combat awareness a shared sense of battle that was far beyond what any normal first-year student should possess.
They moved at the sa ti as if they had practiced it.
Void spun on his heel his body a blur of motion.
As he turned to face his attacker he lashed out with his own kick. It was a swift powerful roundhouse kick that connected squarely with the midsection of the Golden Team student who was trying to kick him.
The impact was solid and loud. The Golden Team student was sent flying backward with trendous force.
He sailed through the air like he had been hit by a catapult.
At the sa ti Adam reacted to the threat that was coming from above him. He tilted his head to the side just enough to narrowly avoid the descending fist.
It was a close call.
As the attacker shot past him missing his head by inches Adam’s free hand shot out. He grabbed the collar of the student’s uniform. Using the student’s own downward montum against him Adam pivoted on his feet.
He used the boy’s own force to swing him around. And he slamd the boy face-first into the hard stone courtyard. The impact was brutal.
Both Adam and Void had anticipated that their swift decisive counter-attacks would be enough to neutralize their opponents. They had acted with great precision and with significant power.
They were expecting the two Golden Team students to be at the very least dazed and out of the fight. They had hit them hard.
They were both therefore genuinely surprised by what happened next. It was not what they expected at all.
The student Adam had slamd into the ground who should have been unconscious or at least severely stunned showed no signs of serious injury.
His body seed incredibly resilient incredibly tough.
It was as if he hadn’t just been driven headfirst into solid stone. He was still conscious. He was already pushing himself up.
And the student Void had kicked the one who had been sent flying backward with enough force to knock out a normal man for a week managed to do the impossible.
Instead of crashing to the ground in a heap as he should have he sohow managed to stabilize himself in mid-air. His feet seed to find purchase on the empty space itself.
He stopped his backward flight.
And then he landed gracefully on the ground. He was already coiled and ready to launch another attack. He was not hurt at all.
Void was quite surprised by this.
He thought to himself Amazing. These students are tougher than they look. I had significantly limited my own power so as not to cause too much damage to this human boy. I didn’t want to kill him by accident. But it seems I’ll have to show a little more of my true strength now.
With that thought Void prepared himself to re-engage his opponent. A new more serious expression appeared on his face. He was ready to teach this resilient opponent a real lesson this ti.
Adam was also surprised. He was surprised that the boy he had slamd to the ground was not only still conscious but was now reacting with incredible speed.
Before Adam could follow up his attack with another one before he could press his advantage the Golden Team student’s hand shot out.
He grabbed Adam’s wrist in a grip of surprising vice-like strength. It was like being caught in a steel trap. Simultaneously at the sa mont the student began to channel magical energy into his leg.
A faint golden shimr enveloped his boot. It glowed with power.
He then swung his leg upwards. He was aiming a powerful magically-charged kick directly at Adam’s head.
The tables had turned in an instant. This boy was not just tough he was a skilled fighter too. He was not giving up. He was fighting back hard.
