Mu Mingtang glared at Xie Xuanchen. Naturally, she couldn’t let him ss around.

Xie Xuanji, Jiang Mingwei and Wan Yanduo were welcod into the main palace. They sat down and drank a cup of tea, only to notice that the two protagonists were late.

Jiang Mingwei imdiately noticed with sharp eyes that the hairpin on Mu Mingtang’s temple was loose.

It was only morning, so the servants would not make such a mistake. Based on the appearance, it looked like this was sothing she put on temporarily by herself. This made others wonder what on earth went on that needed her to redo her hairpin by herself.

What Jiang Mingwei could see was also not overlooked by Wan Yanduo. Once the hosts and guests were seated again after greetings, Mu Mingtang asked, “Prince Jin and Princess Jin, it’s rather rare to have you as visitors. Pray tell, which wind has blown the three of you in our direction today?”

Xie Xuanji sat upright and lowered his eyes slightly before speaking in a gentle manner, “Sister-in-law, this brother is ashad of himself. I haven’t seen my Second Brother and sister-in-law venture out of the house for a long ti. Plus, I am worried that you two might need so help, so I ca to visit.”

After Xie Xuanji finished speaking, he saw a aningful smile break out on Xie Xuanchen’s face. Even when Xie Xuanchen showed up, he didn’t want to say a single word, but him suddenly smiling for no reason made Xie Xuanji suspicious, though he couldn’t guess the aning behind it for now.

Mu Mingtang was embarrassed. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to go out of the palace in the past couple of weeks, it was the fact that she didn’t even have enough ti to sleep, so why talk about going out? Afraid of showing the embarrassnt on her face, Mu Mingtang quickly lowered her head and took a sip of her tea.

Mu Mingtang thought she was covering up well, but soone was staring at her. Out of curiosity, Jiang Mingwei had been paying close attention to Mu Mingtang’s expression. She found that after Xie Xuanji finished asking the question, Xie Xuanchen had smiled strangely while Mu Mingtang showed a little tension. When Mu Mingtang lowered her head to drink tea, she raised her wrist and her bracelet slipped off, revealing an inconspicuous blotch of dark purple.

The bruise was on the side of the wrist, as if she had accidentally bumped into sothing. Both Jiang Mingwei and Wan Yanduo saw it, reacting either by pursing their lips or raising their eyebrows as they both guessed the reason.

As a Princess, Mu Mingtang wouldn’t be tasked to do heavy work, so what else could she knock herself into? Only under so uncontrollable circumstances, such as accidentally bumping into the edge of the bed, would there be bruises in that position.

Both the won were speechless as Jiang Mingwei suddenly felt that the situation was rather ironic. She rembered that when she was newly married, she even ca to flaunt in front of Mu Mingtang. At that ti, she was full of herself, boasting that she had married the right person and stating that the rest of her life would be filled with prosperity and wealth as she wished. On the other hand, Mu Mingtang would have to stay a widow for the rest of her life, which was extrely pitiful.

Who would have thought that the situation would be reversed in just one year. Mu Mingtang didn’t intend to show the marks on her body, but Jiang Mingwei was stabbed in the heart. No one expected that Xie Xuanchen would still be alive, going as far as to resist the poison and returning to the political stage.
