"Is this woman trying to seduce ?"

In just a brief 0.1 seconds.

Zhu Gui’s mind was operating at the peak of human capacity.

He had already considered many possibilities. In the apocalypse, how could there be a woman with a baby alive? It was clearly impossible.

"If I get out of the car later, I’ll definitely be ambushed. There must be other survivors hiding around."

Zhu Gui assessed the situation.

He must ignore it.

The current apocalypse is very dangerous, and trust between people has decreased to an extre. Showing kindness often yields the opposite result.

Zhu Gui locked eyes with the female survivor.

Sitting in the car, he never thought of getting out.

He saw the woman’s longing gaze, as if she wanted to approach but hesitated, stopping in her tracks, watching Zhu Gui remain in the car.

"Sorry, it’s hard for to trust anyone now. I have to find my companions."

Zhu Gui muttered to himself, changed direction, pressed the gas pedal, and drove away.

Glancing at the rearview mirror, he noticed the female survivor still standing there. In the distance, a zombie seed to appear, staggering clumsily towards the female survivor.

The female survivor in front of the shop glanced down at the child in her arms.

Her eyes revealed despair.

She turned to head back to the shop, but as she turned, she saw a zombie just ten ters away, running fast. The sudden situation made her face instantly pale.

She wanted to run but didn’t, as if she had already made so kind of decision.

She faced the current reality calmly.

Just when she thought she would die at the zombie’s hands.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out.

The charging zombie’s head exploded instantly, falling to the ground.

"Didn’t you know to run?"

The female survivor, hearing the voice, turned around and saw the jeep returning, with hope gradually erging in her eyes.

Zhu Gui ultimately couldn’t stand by idly.

He knew that to live well in the apocalypse, one must turn a blind eye; only this is true self-preservation. Any kind of pity often leads to tragedy.

That’s what they say.

But when faced with such situations, the heart is often in conflict.

"Can you take away?"

The female survivor appeared pitiful, her voice soft and longing.

Zhu Gui had already taken a risk by returning, and if things continued, he would surely get deeper into it. If there were any traps, escape would be impossible. He glanced at the slain zombie and then at the quiet store.

The female survivor seed to understand sothing, gently placing the baby on the ground and undressing to prove herself.

"I’m not bait. I have no weapons on . I just want to leave with the child."

She was wearing just a T-shirt and jeans. Undressing left only black underwear. Whether or not there were weapons, it was clear at a glance—there was nowhere to hide.

A decent person might cover their eyes, shouting, "Miss, it’s broad daylight, you’re making it difficult for —put your clothes on, put them on."

But Zhu Gui looked closely, from top to bottom and back up again, carefully observing to ensure she wasn’t hiding any weapons.

"Turn around."

Zhu Gui didn’t see any weapons on her front; the underwear couldn’t hide anything. If there were weapons, there would be bulges. At the slightest suspicion, he would have quickly driven away.

Yet, to his surprise, the female survivor, right in front of him, unhooked her top and lowered her underwear to her knees—such vulnerability usually reserved for the closest people.

"Put on your clothes and get in the car with the child," Zhu Gui said.

Would a normal man have a reaction after seeing this?

Definitely not.

It’s the apocalypse now. Outside is very dangerous. Your nerves are tense all day long, and having a safe rest is a luxury—where is there energy for such nonsense?

To him, those who are willing to engage in these antics must be in so shelter, satiated and idle.

"Thank you, thank you," the female survivor said gratefully.

In the car.

Zhu Gui noticed the child’s mouth wrapped in cloth, expressing so concern.

The woman explained, "The child is young and uncontrollable when crying. I’m afraid the noise will attract zombies, so I had to do this."

Zhu Gui sighed, knowing there was no other option. Which mother would want to treat their child like this? But reality leaves no choice.

"It’s okay now, untie it and let the child be more comfortable."

"Okay."

The woman quickly untied it, looking gratefully at Zhu Gui, her eyes wandering outside the window, perhaps thinking about the road ahead.

"It’s been months since the apocalypse began. How have you and the child survived?"

Zhu Gui was curious. It’s hard for even strong n to survive the apocalypse, let alone a woman with a child. It was inconceivable.

The woman recounted everything to Zhu Gui.

Knowing the situation, Zhu Gui admired her wisdom a bit. The shop had a basent; the entrance was covered by boards. She moved so supplies down there, leaving so outside.

She was afraid that refugees coming here would start searching if they found no supplies and discover her and the child’s hiding place.

During this ti, survivors ca intermittently, so leaving after collecting supplies, others fighting here over the supplies.

Zombies even wandered here, and she didn’t dare make a sound while hiding in the basent, only breathing a sigh of relief when they left.

"It’s good to be alive. I have three companions. I’m going to et them now. We received a notification from the Lao Fangshan Shelter and are thinking of checking it out."
