The four n outside the car.

One was cleaved in two, one had his wrist severed, and the other two stared blankly at Lin Fan, who was holding Frost’s Sorrow.

The driver was dumbfounded and, without thinking, quickly rolled up the car window.

He yelled inside the car, "Hurry up and get in the damn car, the zombies are coming! Anyone who can get in, do it quickly!" His voice was loud, but the car’s soundproofing was so good, let alone the fact that the people outside were already scared stiff.

"Roar!"

At this mont, the roaring of zombies could be heard, dense and intense, followed by the sight of a massive tide of zombies erging from every direction in the streets and alleys.

So zombies shattered glass to leap down, others broke their heads open, and so fractured their legs, but even so, they ran towards this side like mad dogs.

"Damn it!"

Seeing his comrades frozen in place, the driver didn’t think twice as he floored the gas pedal, charging through the zombie crowd like the wind, forcefully carving a path. It must be said that the car was really powerful, plowing through zombies as if they were tofu, without any difficulty.

"Fuck, I’m telling you to get in the car, and you just stand there like idiots. I’m not waiting for you guys," the driver said, his eyes bloodshot and his expression sowhat ferocious. His head shook violently with the montum of the car slamming through the zombies.

As the sedan drove off.

The surviving thug ca to his senses, "Motherfucker... co back."

But the only response to them was the drifting tailpipe exhaust, as the car fishtailed and disappeared at the end of the street.

"So many zombies."

Lin Fan looked around at the situation, as zombies, drawn by the noise, erged from dark corners. It was his first ti seeing so many zombies.

"It appears that these zombies, although not friendly, still want to bravely step up and capture the criminals when they know of them, but their way of capturing... is through biting and tearing with their mouths."

He bore no ill will towards the zombies.

But he knew that these zombies still possessed an innocent heart; they just lacked rationality.

Lin Fan grabbed the two thugs, planning to have the buzz-cut man whose wrist he had severed grab onto his companion, so he could lead them in jumping away, but who could have expected that the buzz-cut man would explode in rage.

"Even if I die, I will take you down with !"

With one wrist severed and the other hand free, he imdiately picked up a gun from the ground, pulled the trigger, and with a bang,

"Ah..."

The thug Lin Fan was holding scread as his backside exploded.

The sound of the gunshot spread, triggering the zombies’ bloodlust even further, and they ran faster, closing in on them.

One step, two steps...

Lin Fan, carrying the two n as if they were little chickens, easily leaped onto the rooftop of the second-floor building.

Looking down at the street below.

The buzz-cut man was overwheld by zombies, his screams incessant but short-lived. Listening closely, one could only hear the sound of zombies gnawing and the low growls of those who failed to get a piece of flesh.

The man who’d been shot in the buttocks covered his mouth, his eyes bugging out, trying not to make any sound.

Up to this point, he was still bewildered, unsure of what exactly had transpired.

The only unhard man watched Lin Fan in shock. Just a mont ago they were down below, and in the blink of an eye, Lin Fan had leaped to the rooftop—how was that even possible? Not even the world’s best high jumper could achieve such a feat.

He stared in shock at the young man before him, dressed in a security uniform and carrying a Simulated Divine Artifact.

"Big brother, thank you for saving ," he said, hoping to get on good terms with Lin Fan, feeling that switching to a sowhat powerful boss seed like a good choice. Following a powerful boss, one could command wind and rain in the post-apocalyptic world.

Lin Fan smiled and said, "Mm, it’s nothing. You stole guns from the police station, and I subdued you. The zombies also tried to stop you, but their thods are a bit brutal. I think I need to ensure your safety. Once the zombies leave, I will take you to the police station."

Was there anything wrong with what he said?

Not a bit.

In self-defense, accidentally causing soone’s death is an unavoidable situation. But if soone is already subdued and you still attack, that’s excessive defense. If you accidentally kill soone, that is involuntary manslaughter.

The difference is significant.

He understood this basic legal knowledge.

The man who’d been shot in the buttocks, sweating coldly from pain, gazed blankly at Lin Fan.

The man who had been talking with Lin Fan was similarly stunned, as if he had misheard.

"Big brother, you’re kidding, right?" he said, not quite believing what he was hearing. What did delivering them to the police station have to do with anything, and could he please not joke under these circumstances, especially when the joke wasn’t the least bit funny.

"I’m not joking," Lin Fan said earnestly.

"But this is the end of the world..."

"Mm, I know."

"You don’t understand, this is the end of the world, the apocalypse, you get it, right? It ans morals and laws have collapsed. The only imperative is to survive. As long as you’re alive, anything goes and nothing is illegal," the man said, feeling that he might really have encountered soone with a screw loose. Why would such a person exist?

"Have you read any books?" Lin Fan asked.

The man stared at Lin Fan in astonishnt, his gaze vacant. He was so baffled by the question that he couldn’t comprehend how anyone remotely normal could ask such an idiotic question.

He dropped out early but had attended a few years of school. He didn’t want to admit it though, seeing no difference between speaking and staying silent. Right now, he was thinking about how to escape from Lin Fan.

He had seen Lin Fan’s techniques.

A single sword stroke to split a man in two.

Even before one could react, Lin Fan had severed a gun-wielding wrist.

This was definitely not soone he could deal with.

He had a gun on him.

Shoot?

Don’t joke; it’s too dangerous.

Lin Fan saw him bowing his head and said no more, but he also felt so remorse for his actions. Why even ask soone if they’ve been educated?

Perhaps the man had once been poor, having to venture out early in life, ultimately ending up on the wrong path. It was pitiable, but what was done was done, and there would be a price to pay.

As long as the other party didn’t attack him first, he would not defend himself, let alone harm them.

Suddenly.

The scene fell silent.

Lin Fan quietly waited for the zombies to leave, recalling what the fireworks guy had said earlier: if there was no noise, the zombies would leave on their own.

After a long ti.

He peeked down at the street below.

Only a few scattered zombies remained on the street; the wave of zombies that had just ford had already dispersed.

Looking at the buzz-cut man whose wrist he had severed, now disfigured, his body misshapen, only a bloody handgun lay silently beside him.

"Let’s go, I’ll take you to the police station. Don’t think about ambushing , or it’ll be dangerous."

Lin Fan picked them up and jumped down from the rooftop.

In the mont they landed.

Several staggering zombies, sensing fresh flesh, launched a ferocious attack.

Thump! Thump!

Wielding Frost Mourning, Lin Fan easily dealt with them.

At this mont, the man holding the gun slowly raised it, intending to shoot Lin Fan dead, but when he made eye contact with Lin Fan, who had turned around, he just couldn’t pull the trigger.

Clatter!

"I’m relieved that you chose to surrender the stolen firearms willingly, but you guys... sigh."

Lin Fan shook his head, took the firearms, and also picked up the blood-stained handgun from the ground.

Dragging them, he headed inside the police station.

"You really can’t let us go?" the man asked in a deep voice.

Lin Fan replied, "Everyone makes mistakes. So matters don’t require calling the police, but others do, and they must face legal punishnt. Once the punishnt is over, you’ll be released. Then you’ll feel light, clean, maybe remorseful for what you’ve done, but there’s no need to dwell on it."

"You’ve killed people before, I can tell. Earlier you tried to kill at the slightest disagreent, showing that you’ve released the darkness within you due to the apocalypse, completely disregarding morals and law."

It seed like he was talking to himself, but he was actually addressing them.

The man had never imagined he’d find himself in this situation. If he had been sure of success, he would have acted sooner. If their boss had been there and heard the other’s babbling, he would have killed Lin Fan without a second thought.

Their boss had beco increasingly cruel since the apocalypse began, treating people like pigs, dogs, and ants, ruthlessly killing at will.

But honestly... they all felt sowhat exhilarated.

"You just killed that man as well..." the man said.

Lin Fan frowned slightly, puzzled, as if he couldn’t believe soone was unaware of the concept of self-defense.

"He tried to kill just now. It was self-defense, nothing more."

The man’s mouth twitched.

Self-defense?

Ha, ha!!!

...

Inside the police station.

When they were tied up there, the two n realized that Lin Fan was serious.

Lin Fan placed the two handguns in a drawer and wrote down the entire incident on paper: soone had co to steal guns from the station, I noticed, they threatened , and it ended in self-defense killing... and so on.

These things had to be done.

All the details must be recorded accurately.

In case the policeman ca back unaware of the incident, and because of incomplete records, misunderstandings could arise.

Having seen to everything.

Looking at the two criminals he had brought here.

He felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction.

This was the third ti he had brought soone in, and this ti two at once, indicating that as the apocalypse continued, the number of bad people was indeed growing.

"Goodbye."

He waved and turned to leave.

Walking down the corridor of the police station, he felt as though there was a righteousness enveloping him.

Perhaps this was positive energy.

Passing by a wall poster, he stopped for a few seconds, feeling inspired once more.

With a creak, he seed to hear a slight noise, watched quietly for a second or two; it must be the police uncle finishing his work. He didn’t want to disturb, so he quickly left.

"My ass hurts so bad."

"Damn it, I really should have shot him dead."

"My butt is killing ."

"Shut up and figure out how to untie these ropes; we need to get out of here."

"Damn it, what the hell, argh..."
