The warning sirens continued to blare across the Union’s underground base, their crimson lights flashing in rhythmic pulses along the tallic corridors. Adam stood frozen for a mont, his mind racing as the distorted voice echoed through the intercom:

"You took sothing that belongs to us. Now... we’re here to take it back."

His gaze flickered to Zero, who was furiously typing on the terminal. The holographic interface projected an internal security feed, displaying the base’s lower levels—but sothing was wrong.

The caras were cutting out, one by one.

"Damn it!" Zero cursed. "They’re using so kind of jamming tech—our security systems are going blind."

Krish slamd his fist on the table. "How the hell did they get in?! This place is locked down tighter than a vault."

Lilith, already loading her sidearm, muttered, "That ans there’s only one explanation."

Adam nodded grimly. "A mole."

The room fell silent for a brief mont. Then, the base shook violently as an explosion rocked the lower levels.

BOOM!

Sparks flew from the overhead lighting. The sound of tal twisting and collapsing sent a ripple of unease through the command room.

Phantom turned toward Adam. "They’re not wasting ti. Orders?"

Adam took a deep breath. This wasn’t just a standard attack. Whoever was behind this knew the Union’s weaknesses.

They had planned this.

"We split into teams," Adam said firmly. "Zero, keep working on restoring surveillance. We need eyes on them."

Zero nodded and imdiately started bypassing the security overrides.

Adam turned to the rest of the team. "Lilith, Krish—you two take the west sector and secure the armory. If they get to our weapons cache, we’re done."

Lilith smirked. "Sounds like fun."

Krish rolled his shoulders. "Finally, so action."

Adam’s gaze shifted to Phantom and Ninja. "You two secure the power grid. If they take it down, we lose everything—communications, lockdown protocols, defense turrets."

Phantom cracked her knuckles. "I’ll make sure they don’t even get close."

Ninja nodded silently before vanishing into the shadows.

Adam turned to Sona and Tayo, both floating beside him, their expressions hardened. "You two are with . We’re going straight for the breach point."

Sona’s wings fluttered. "We’ll keep the skies clear."

Tayo grinned. "And I’ll burn down anyone who tries to run."

Adam’s gaze hardened. "Let’s move."

The mont Adam and his team stepped into the hallway, the lights flickered, and a chilling silence settled over the area. The red ergency glow painted their surroundings in a foreboding hue.

Then, they heard it.

A faint tallic scrape against the walls.

Adam stopped walking, raising a fist to signal silence.

Sona’s eyes narrowed as she whispered telepathically, "We’re being watched."

The team moved forward cautiously. The corridor stretched ahead, branching into multiple intersections. The tension in the air was palpable.

Then—movent.

A shadow darted across the corridor ahead.

Adam’s instincts kicked in. "Cover positions!"

But it was too late .

From the ceiling vents, dozens of black-clad figures dropped down in perfect synchronization. Their movents were eerily precise—too calculated, too perfect.

Clones.

Their red chanical eyes flickered as they unsheathed energy blades.

Sona’s wings flared. "They’re already here!"

Adam gritted his teeth. "Engage!"

The hallway erupted into chose.

Adam dodged left, narrowly avoiding an energy blade that slashed through the air. He retaliated with a brutal punch, his enhanced strength cracking the clone’s helt.

Sona soared into the air, unleashing a telekinetic wave that sent multiple clones crashing into the walls.

Tayo spun mid-air, her burning aura igniting as she launched a stream of fire down the hallway. The flas engulfed three clones, forcing them to retreat.

More enemies poured in from behind.

Adam cursed. "There’s too many!"

Then—a new presence entered the battlefield.

A tall figure stepped forward from the shadows. Unlike the clones, his armor was sleek, obsidian-black, adorned with glowing blue circuitry.

His face was hidden behind a visor, but his aura was unmistakably powerful.

He raised a hand, and the clones imdiately halted, standing in eerie silence.

The figure tilted his head, as if studying Adam. Then, in a voice *distorted by a chanical filter, he spoke:

"You’re not ready for what’s coming, Adam."

Adam’s blood ran cold.

He had heard that voice before.

Adam’s pulse pounded in his ears as he faced the armored figure, his mind racing to identify him.

The clones stood motionless behind their leader, their glowing red eyes locked onto Adam’s team.

The eerie silence stretched for a mont, broken only by the faint hum of the energy blades still active in their hands.

Sona hovered beside Adam, her wings twitching as she prepared to strike. Tayo, still engulfed in her fiery aura, clenched her fists.

The mysterious enemy took a slow step forward. His black armor shimred, reflecting the crimson glow of the ergency lights. The intricate blue circuitry patterns on his suit pulsed rhythmically, as if alive.

"You’re not ready for what’s coming, Adam."

The words echoed in Adam’s mind. His eyes narrowed as he took a cautious step forward. "Who the hell are you?"

The figure let out a distorted chuckle. "It doesn’t matter who I am. What matters is that your little rebellion is coming to an end."

Adam’s jaw tightened. "You think you can just waltz in here and take what’s ours?" He clenched his fists, energy surging through his body. "Not happening."

The enemy tilted his head slightly. "We don’t need to take anything." He raised a hand, gesturing to the trapped clones of Sona and Tayo still suspended inside Zero’s containnt field. "You’ve already done the hard part for us."

Adam felt a surge of rage. They had been watching. Waiting.

Before Adam could react, the armored figure vanished—a blur of movent too fast for the eye to follow.

BANG!

A force slamd into Adam’s chest, sending him skidding ten feet back. He barely managed to keep his balance as the impact cracked the floor beneath him.

Sona and Tayo imdiately launched their attacks.

Sona sent out a telekinetic wave, aiming to crush the enemy under invisible pressure. But the figure vanished again, reappearing beside her in an instant.

"Too slow."

With a flick of his wrist, a shockwave sent Sona crashing into the wall.

Tayo retaliated, her flas roaring as she unleashed a stream of fire. But before it could touch him, the enemy raised his hand, and the flas froze mid-air. The fire flickered unnaturally, as if caught in a ti loop.

Tayo’s eyes widened. "What the—"

The enemy clenched his fist.

BOOM!

Tayo’s own flas detonated around her, sending her crashing to the ground in a heap.

Adam’s hands sparked with raw energy as he charged forward, throwing a devastating punch aid directly at the figure’s head.

But he missed.

The enemy had already moved, appearing behind him.

A sharp pain shot through Adam’s back.

Adam gasped as a surge of paralyzing energy coursed through his body. He dropped to one knee, struggling to move.

The armored figure leaned down, his distorted voice calm but mocking.

"You fight well. But you’re not ready for us."

Adam growled, forcing himself to his feet despite the pain. "I don’t care who you are... you’re not leaving here in one piece."

The figure chuckled. "Funny. I was about to say the sa thing."

Before the enemy could strike again, a thunderous explosion rocked the corridor.

BOOM!

The wall to Adam’s left burst open, sending debris flying in all directions. Through the dust and rubble, Phantom and Ninja erged, weapons drawn.

Phantom’s eyes locked onto Adam’s injured form, her usual cold expression twisting into fury.

"You dare attack Lord Adam?"

Without hesitation, she launched herself forward, her blue energy chains snapping toward the enemy.

The figure barely had ti to react before Phantom’s chains wrapped around his arm, glowing with binding energy.

At the sa ti, Ninja appeared behind the figure, his blade flashing in the dim light as he slashed downward.

The armored figure managed to break free at the last second, dodging the blade by re inches. But it was clear—he was outnumbered now.

The clones behind him shifted, as if awaiting orders.

The enemy clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Tch. I guess I’ll have to finish this another ti."

Before Adam could stop him, the enemy tapped his wrist, activating so kind of teleportation device.

A flash of blue light engulfed him and the clones—

And they were gone.

The corridor was eerily silent.

Sona and Tayo groaned as they pushed themselves up from the wreckage. Phantom knelt beside Adam, inspecting his injuries.

"They retreated..." Adam muttered, his hands still shaking from the encounter.

Phantom nodded. "For now."

Ninja sheathed his blade. "They were toying with us. Testing our strength."

Adam clenched his fists. "Whoever they are... they won’t get another chance."

He turned toward Zero, who had just arrived at the scene, his holo-screen flashing. "Track their energy signature. I want to know where they went."

Zero nodded, already working on it.

Adam took a deep breath, his mind still reeling. This wasn’t over.

Whoever this enemy was, they were powerful. Too powerful.

But Adam wasn’t about to back down.

No matter what was coming... he would be ready.
