What Xu Haishui asked about was the corpse dragon he had zombified himself. He sensed it when Tang Ye started rging with the corpse dragon and noticed that his pet had inexplicably lost control and disappeared without a trace.
There was only one possibility - Tang Ye had played a hand in it.
Tang Ye played dumb in response. The corpse dragon was a good thing. A symbol of prestige!
Now that he had assimilated it, he claid it as his own. How could Tang Ye explain this straightforwardly to Xu Haishui?
"No, I was referring to that one...
"Wait, I have other things to attend to."
Tang Ye waved him off without giving Xu Haishui a chance to finish. He glanced at him and Xu Haishui felt jittery under his gaze.
"What are you trying to do?" Xu Haishui asked.
"Nothing much, you can go out looking like this?"
"Yes!" Xu Haishui replied quickly and imdiately began to shrink. His bony spikes retracted into his flesh while his scales slowly changed from dark to light. His body shrank and at the end, he was indistinguishable from a human.
"This will do."
"No, I can make you stronger." Tang Ye shook his head. He preferred the silver-armored zombie with stronger control.
"Huh?"
"You’ll know soon."
"Are you suggesting..." Xu Haishui exclaid, he knew what Tang Ye was about to do. He had seen the zombies infected by Tang Ye which exhibited unprecedented defense capabilities.
Before he could utter any further, Tang Ye placed his hand on his head and his body quickly turned silver. Xu Haishui’s body started to shudder.
The pain of his cells being torn apart overwheld him. After half a minute, Xu Haishui had completely turned into a silver-armored zombie. He raised his hands and looked at his own skin.
"Clean up around here."
Tang Ye’s voice echoed from outside and soon, he had disappeared outside the door.
As he descended the stairs, he noticed a commotion outside. Wondering what it was about, he headed in that direction, and as soon as he appeared, a group of soldiers surrounded him, puzzling him further.
"What’s going on?"
"Chief, sothing’s wrong... Over there... Ouch!"
The soldier speaking was pushed aside and Huang Quanjiu, with a troubled look, stepped forward.
"Chief, we’ve taken over the Comprehensive Managent Area. Now, we are in charge of Qinshan Base, but there’s a problem..."
"Spit it out!"
Tang Ye had a bad feeling about this. It felt as if sothing had been stolen from him.
"We only have a few survivors, and all our production lines and most of our factories were deliberately burned down..."
As Huang Quanjiu stepped aside, soldiers behind him made way, revealing dozens of research personnel in white coats, their eyes filled with unease.
"What?"
Tang Ye frowned deeply aware of the implications of the destruction of the factories. It ant that the soldiers of Qinshan Base could only use weapons from before the Apocalypse!
Although he was now a Level 7 zombie, potentially the most powerful being on Earth, he was still just one individual. Should he die, the Peace Party would be defenseless due to the gap in equipnt.
Thinking about the various types of armor worn by the soldiers of the United District, a flicker of anger and desire flashed in Tang Ye’s eyes. Those were significant symbols of power for the United District. What was the symbol of the Peace Party’s strength?
Bang!
An idea that Tang Ye had suppressed before surfaced again. His eyes were sparkling with resolve.
"If technology isn’t an option, then I’ll take a different path! Just you wait, United District!" Saying this, Tang Ye left the scene abruptly.
Two days later, Qinshan Base was completely controlled by the Peace Party and was renad Shiwuguan Base. The surviving soldiers of the forr Qinshan Base were massively conscripted, then distributed into departnts under the managent of the Peace Party.
With everything in place, Tang Ye stopped concerning himself with administrative matters. His new title replaced the previous ’Li Songhua’ and he beca ’Commander Li’.
"Commander, there are three people outside acting suspiciously; they want to see you."
"Huh?"
Upon hearing the saluting soldier at the door announcing this, Tang Ye was puzzled, but then he quickly realised who the soldier was referring to - the Chen brothers and Gong Xiao.
"Oh, I see, they’ve finally co. Let them in."
"Yes."
After the soldier said this, there was a flurry of activity outside. It seed as though they were taken by surprise. Furthermore, the door to Tang Ye’s room was pushed open and the three people entered.
"Wow, boss, you were really promoted to Base Commander!"
As soon as Chen Zhouquan walked in, he started speaking loudly. His gaze moved in all directions; when the Qinshan Base fell into the hands of the Peace Party, Tang Ye moved the party’s headquarters into the governnt building of the Comprehensive Managent Area. The building was now known as Peace Party Building.
"You’ve finally arrived." Tang Ye said, standing up. He had been waiting for these two. Since he didn’t have the technological prowess of the United District, he decided to count on zombies!
He wanted to form a legion that others dared not even think of - a Zombie Knight Legion! He was short of manpower and needed an army commander who could manage efficiently while also having formidable battle strength. The Chen brothers seed to be a perfect fit.
"Boss, why did you call us here?"
"You’ll find out soon. For now, stay here."
As Tang Ye was about to leave, he noticed a ruckus downstairs, "Deputy Chief Ah Fu is back!" a soldier shouted.
"Ah Fu is back?" Tang Ye paused, turned his gaze to Gong Xiao and whispered, "You better find a place to hide."
"Huh?"
Gong Xiao was surprised but Tang Ye didn’t offer any explanation and went downstairs. He could hear Ah Fu’s loud voice from afar.
"You all moved here? Where are those cowardly United District rascals? I’ll kill them!"
"Deputy Chief, you don’t know? We’ve driven away the people from the United District, and the Qinshan Base has beco Shiwuguan Base!" An excited old soldier explained.
"Shiwuguan Base is ours now? I thought we were done for."
"Co on, Ah Fu, co with ." said Tang Ye
The sound echoed in the corridor. Ah Fu looked his way, his face lighting up montarily before he was swiftly taken away by Tang Ye.
