"Auntie, I’m cold~"

"Who has a blanket? Hand one over."

The truck sped along the frost-covered road. The sky was as if obscured by a thick grey cloth. As they passed a pile of bones as large as the vehicle, Ma Zhen handed a blanket to Bai Xinran.

Despite being covered by the thick blanket, there was no sign that her body was generating any warmth. Her face deathly pale, she trembled as she slowly ate.

"Auntie~ I’m still cold."

Helplessly, Qiongli saw her runny nose and intermittent coughs, dried bloodstains dotting the discarded tissues nearby.

Since getting injured last ti, Bai Xinran had been in a state of constant weakness. She spent most of her days searching for food in the lingering confines of the truck.

"There, there, auntie will hold you. You won’t be cold..."

Qiongli embraced Bai Xinran compassionately. The girl lay motionless in her arms like a corpse. As the vehicle moved, Qiongli caressed Bai Xinran’s cold hands helplessly and said to Tang Ye, "Maybe we should go find so dicine."

"Into the city center?" Tang Ye asked indifferently.

"Yes."

Whirring...

Tang Ye brought the vehicle to a halt. They had reached a city, less than 400 kiloters away from Yunchuan City. From Jinhe City, there were instances of massive road collapses and areas overrun by evolved plants. Trying to avoid these unpredictable factors had cost them a considerable amount of ti.

No one knew what they would encounter in the remaining 300 kiloters.

"We should scout the area first."

Tang Ye alighted from the vehicle and beckoned the others to join him at the bridge’s edge, looking down at the city.

They were shaken by the sight. The city streets were flooded by a teeming mass of zombies, their heads packed tightly together like jars of black caviar. It was enough to make anyone’s scalp tingle!

Two figures stood out from the crowd, over ten ters tall with bodies of iron-colored muscle, undeniable Level 5 zombies!

"Why are there so many zombies here?"

The man who had saved Qiongli, Lin Junhong, exclaid in bewildernt. But no one could answer him. While there were many zombies, they had never seen them congregate in such numbers before.

"These zombies are being controlled by sothing..."

Tang Ye murmured, his eyes narrowing to dangerous slits. He had begun to feel an odd sensation - he had previously been able to control his craving for flesh, but three days ago, he found himself salivating at the sight of Qiongli, and even little Nannan.

This unbidden hunger for flesh had erged suddenly, much like the ti he encountered a woman in a supermarket shortly after becoming a zombie. The craving kindled a voracious hunger, almost compelling him to abandon all humanity!

He hadn’t experienced such a feeling in a very long ti, and now it had suddenly reappeared, overriding his body’s stored energy and stirring an insatiable desire for flesh!

In addition to this, he found sothing else utterly perplexing – the hunger was so potent that it allowed him to sense where living organisms were!

For instance, now, a large group of humans was due east, probably the survivors’ base in this city. The direction of the forthcoming zombie tide was also towards the east!

In other words, his zombie instincts were not drawn out by his doing but sothing else or soone controlling not only him but the multitudes of zombies down below!

"Hey, look, so of those zombies noticed us!"

Ma Zhen pointed to a small group of zombies below. Tang Ye noticed a few zombies suddenly lifting their heads towards their direction and growling louder. Being unable to find a path upwards, they could only roar from directly below them.

"So you want to get so dication for the girl?"

Tang Ye asked Qiongli unexpectedly. She didn’t understand why Tang Ye asked; hadn’t she just ntioned it?

"Yes...why?"

Tang Ye’s gaze beca serious, "dicines are mostly found in hospitals, pharmacies, or clinics, which are usually in the city center. Right now, the zombies down there are sohow sensing living beings. Essentially, they know we are here, but there is bigger prey waiting for them."

"That’s impossible, right?" Qiongli was skeptical.

"Go look from the other side."

Tang Ye gestured towards the other side of the bridge. Qiongli and the others walked over to look and were shocked to find a zombie looking in their direction before they even showed their faces!

"What...what’s going on?!" Ma Zhen scread in terror!

Nothing was more terrifying than zombies knowing their location. In this situation, they couldn’t venture into the city; otherwise, they might provoke an overwhelming attack from the zombie hordes.

That terrifying scenario could send cold shivers down anyone’s spine!

But if they didn’t go to the city, how could they get dication for Bai Xinran? She was barely hanging on; her body, already weakened by malnutrition, couldn’t sustain her injury for much longer!

"What do we do?" Lin Junhong asked with a bitter expression.

But Tang Ye didn’t answer; instead, he turned his gaze to the road ahead, where the distant moans of the undead answered for him. It was ti to run!

A massive, dark horde filled the road ahead, with a few substantial figures standing prominently amidst them.

"We need to leave, now!"

Qiongli yelled, but in the next second, a giant, aty crown ca flying towards them, cutting through the air. Tang Ye unsheathed his flesh blade and cut the incoming projectile into half with a drawn-out swoosh and thud. Imdiately, tens of crowns ca flying at them, each aid at their bodies!

"Run!"

Tang Ye called out, wielding his blade and advancing forward. His powerful strike cracked the ground under him and AJ!

His horizontal sweep boiled the surrounding air, causing a hurricane to whip around them. The besieging zombies’ crowns were mostly knocked down, but no one could clearly see how Tang Ye had executed the move.

"That...that’s incredible!" Lin Junhong and Ma Zhen were stunned. They couldn’t believe that a man could possess such formidable combat power. It was too much to absorb in a mont.

However, even with Tang Ye’s fast speed, it was impossible to stop tens of those flying crowns within monts. One of the crowns headed towards Qiongli.

She raised her blade to block, but the thrower was clearly more powerful than her. Despite successfully blocking the attack, the force sent her flying like a cut-stringed kite!
