"We are going on a mission to hunt the dragon in Zhiyang Lake!"

"Dragon?"

Upon hearing this, Tang Ye was montarily at a loss, followed by profound curiosity. He had been in Lin City for a long ti, but he had never been to Zhiyang Lake. Could there really be a dragon there?

"Yes, it’s an evolved python, it looks a bit like a dragon."

"Its level should be around Level 4, and we’re tasked to hunt it down."

"But why have you guys been here so many tis?" Tang Ye turned his head to look at another soldier.

"Those who ca before all died."

"And yet you keep coming, aren’t you afraid you’ll die too?"

The soldiers let out a bitter laugh, feeling that the higher-ups in the base were more heartless than any zombie.

"By killing it, its Evolution Crystal can create a new human of at least Level 4, that’s why people co here every day, not just from our Pingnan Base."

Tang Ye understood this. The military aircraft that had flown over a few days ago bore different words: Pingnan, Xingnan, and Qinshan.

However, he had previously thought they were going sowhere for a mission. He wasn’t interested in knowing what it was until one night when he was repeatedly awakened from his sleep. This stirred up his anger and curiosity.

"I see."

Tang Ye nodded his head and said, "There’s nothing else, you guys take care."

"Eh???"

The soldiers gawked as they watched Tang Ye retreat into the horde of zombies.

"No! Don’t go!"

The soldiers’ desperate cries echoed as the zombies sward over them. Tang Ye, who was leaving, didn’t turn to look back, as he was no stranger to abandoning those who had served their purpose.

About ten minutes later, Tang Ye walked past a large iron gate. Inside was a factory, a quiet factory.

Yet, he knew it was a large-scale human gathering place, with possibly thousands of residents. Every day, people would leave to find food.

However, two months ago, a few fools had dared to extort him, only to end up thrown into the zombie horde by Ah Fu.

From that day on, no one had co out of the iron gates, and the survivors inside had to go out from other places to find supplies.

They all knew, in this place, there was a Level 3 evolution zombie!

He ran his fingers over the rubber band on his wrist, the words replaying in his mind.

It had been nearly a year, the voice that voiced the wish was still crystal clear. Like a curse etched into his heart, he could never escape from it.

Perhaps, on that day, he should not have listened to that wish.

Shaking his head, Tang Ye’s eyes darkened. He glanced at the iron gate and his face shown an inscrutable expression.

"Perhaps, I could beco the master here..."

Murmuring these words in his heart, Tang Ye continued to walk forward. He knew that if he did that, he would be unleashing another bloodbath.

Becoming master of this survivor enclave was simple - kill the original leader.

If not many supported the leader, fewer people would have to die; if many did, it would just an more bloodshed.

He no longer possessed a heart, and had long forgotten the feeling of compassion towards others.

He felt guilt, and he abhorred this feeling. This guilt heavily hindered his actions.

Perhaps... Only by becoming the leader of a survivor enclave, managing it well, could he rid himself of this guilt - the guilt created from Ning Yu’er’s wish.

Her wish was easy to fulfill. If his strength increased, he could control more zombies. This would make it possible.

But before that, he had to learn to control himself, to prevent himself from easily falling into a state of madness!

After half an hour, Tang Ye arrived at a villa. Countless zombies road around, with so water stains still visible at the doorway indicating that it had been cleaned recently.

As for why clean up, only Tang Ye knew. Since the end of the world, for the first ti, he encountered a creature that made him feel disgusted.

"Back again? F*ck!"

From a distance, Tang Ye saw sothing as large as a palm crawling on the door. He had a bad premonition, and as he approached, he almost exploded with anger!

That black creature had a pair of dark red wings on its back, revealing its brown belly. Looking closer, the creature’s many joints on its legs were enough to give anyone goosebumps.

Tang Ye didn’t dare to use his hands; not because he was afraid it would bite him, but because he found it repulsive!

It was a zombie roach!

He picked up a rock from the ground and cast it, hitting the zombie roach squarely on its belly. The impact burst a cloud of black and yellow fluid, splattering everywhere. The roach fell from the door to the ground, writhing on its back.

Its legs flailed, and from a close look, its rotting body shimred with a sickening shine, like a rotten sesa seed. To the point where it made even Tang Ye, a zombie, feel goosebumps.

"Die!"

Roar!

Snatching a wooden plank nearby, Tang Ye didn’t bother using his intimidating aura to scare it away. Whenever it approached, either Ah Fu or Tang Ye could make it freeze on the spot.

With this kind of creature, Tang Ye killed them on sight. Their very existence in this world was an insult to him!

Smack!

With a swat from the board, the zombie roach was squashed, and Tang Ye called a zombie over, ordering it to clean up the ss while he entered the villa.

To have a zombie clean up, perhaps Tang Ye was the only oddball who would do such a thing in this world.

As he entered the villa, Tang Ye saw Ah Fu sitting dumbfounded on the floor, with Nannan playing on its head.

Nannan laughed happily when she saw Tang Ye co in.

There were only the three of them here. As for Chen Chaoyang, Yan Jie, and Li Xiaoyan, they had all returned to Qinshan Base already.

Seeing Nannan, a faint smile crept onto Tang Ye’s face. His heart warms at the sight of her, a feeling like family.

He picked up Nannan. She was calling him "daddy" repeatedly. Tang Ye silently accepted the title. Even though he wasn’t her real father, it was close enough.

He had fantasized multiple tis about raising her, watching her grow and get married. But he was a zombie, and these dreams were unrealistic.

One day, she will have to return to human society. Also, Tang Ye needed to make her forget the ti spent with a zombie.

Before Chen Chaoyang left, he had thought of handing over Nannan to him, but he couldn’t bring himself to trust him and didn’t voice his thoughts.

He was looking for an opportunity, an opportunity to send Nannan back to human society where she could survive the apocalypse. Afterwards, he would go his own way.

HIs path diverges from Nannan’s. In the future, Tang Ye didn’t know what he would beco, or what Nannan would beco.

They were people from two different worlds. He happened to save her, just like Ning Yu’er.
