Tang Ye silently withdrew his "high-level will," as countless roars of zombies exploded around his ears, large swathes of undead converged, encircling the survivors.

"F*ck! Get back here! Why are you screwing us over? We haven’t done anything to you!"

"Shoot! Kill all these zombies, then drag that bastard out!"

Yi Tao was furious and alard as he watched the surrounding zombies. He harbored hatred for Tang Ye who had inexplicably summoned so many zombies to surround them!

The survivors plunged into desperation in an instant, but it’s in these desperate monts that people burst forth with all their potential!

Bullets flew, creating bloody blossoms on the zombie bodies!

Zombie roars were everywhere, the stench they emitted was so foul it made everyone dizzy.

"Kill!"

"I’ll wipe you all out! Kill!"

Da da da! Da da da! Da da...!

"I want to live!"

The survivors, ard and with bloodshot eyes, reduced the zombies before them to bullet-riddled sieves!

Just then, Tang Ye stood on the zombie-proof wall, the desperation of the survivors reflected in his eyes. They were fighting for survival, with nothing but a vague hope. Hope for staying alive!

The Level 2 zombie, which had attacked them earlier, resud its charge, shaking the ground with each step!

People repeated their old trick and pulled out six of their old, weak, sick, and disabled to throw to the zombie again. To their surprise, the zombie didn’t even spare them a glance, charging straight towards the group of survivors!

Roar!

Looking at the despair on the faces of the survivors trapped below the high walls by the zombies, Tang Ye spread his arms wide and shouted, "Welco to paradise!"

"This is my paradise, your ’paradise’ too! I quite like you guys, so take your ti to enjoy, hehe~"

Tang Ye grinned nacingly, the group of fearful survivors seeming like the most amusing ants in the world.

"Why!"

While Yi Tao continued his fight with the zombies, he challenged Tang Ye, the other survivors stared at Tang Ye with resentful eyes.

They were just one step away from escaping this dangerous Yindan Base, yet this one step was blocked by Tang Ye, who intended to take their lives too!

Seeing the hatred in their eyes, Tang Ye felt peculiarly uncomfortable.

Why were they looking at him with accusatory eyes when they were on the brink of death? Shouldn’t they be begging for rcy?

This wasn’t according to the script he had set, but Tang Ye couldn’t bother to think about it now. Given their current state, they could hold off the zombies for a little longer.

Death itself wasn’t scary, the terrifying part was the process of awaiting death!

He relished watching people await their impending death. However, considering their resentful glares, he didn’t particularly want to watch anymore.

They knew he could command the horde. These thousands of zombies were not sothing these fools could hold off. In other words, he was their only hope!

With just one word, Tang Ye could halt the zombie attack. But he intended to dash their hopes, twist the knife in their wounds!

Under countless gazes, Tang Ye laughed joyously. His back muscles began to twitch, forming two large bulges.

Splat!

The two big bulges suddenly burst open, revealing a pair of bloody-looking wings, which rapidly grew under Tang Ye’s control.

The physical structure of humans didn’t allow for flight, but with wings large enough, it could be a different story.

In just half a minute, the wings grew to an impressive twenty ters in length. But the color of the wings was quite repugnant, almost as if they were made up of blood and flesh, with blood dripping from them.

Under the horrified gazes of the survivors, Tang Ye’s aty wings flapped once. Riding an updraft, his body soared skyward, gradually drifting off into the distance.

...

"Report!"

"Co in."

Ning Tianlang closed a book titled "No Longer Human" and carefully placed it at the corner of the desk. His fingers tapped the cover three tis.

Creak.

The office door opened and in walked a soldier carrying a small bundle of docunts.

"Put it here."

"Um."

The soldier nodded, carefully placing the docunts in front of Ning Tianlang. He was cautious all the while, observing Ning Tianlang’s expressions, fearing an outburst of rage directed at him!

The demon in front of him had single-handedly killed all mbers of the "New Elephant" group, including even Level 2 New Humans!

The ans by which he killed were unspeakably cruel, and the reason? Just because the group had made so offensive remarks towards his daughter...

After placing the docunts carefully, he took a careful step to the side and anxiously watched Ning Tianlang.

Ning Tianlang glanced at him, massaged his forehead and said, "You can leave if there’s nothing else."

"Yes!"

The soldier breathed a sigh of relief and bolted out of the office as if fleeing.

Ning Tianlang opened the bundle of docunts. Reading the content on the first page, his eyes narrowed. The heading read: [Liang City Yindan Base falls; Level 4 zombie spotted!].

"Yindan Base has fallen? A Level 4 zombie..."

His fingers drumd mindlessly on the desk, while his other hand flipped through the pages rapidly, his eyes devoured every word until they landed on a photograph. Ning Tianlang’s pupils shrank.

"This is... a Level 4 zombie?"

The picture was neither blurry nor clear. It was clearly taken at night with street lights illuminating the scene. Where the light fell were bodies, zombies and humans alike!

And at the center, there was an attacking humanoid creature; its eight flesh tendrils and hundreds of bone spikes suspended in mid-air, so impaling bodies, suspending them in the air.

The corpses hanging weren’t swollen but shriveled, looking like mummies. On the ground, most of the bodies shared the sa shriveled condition, though so more than others.

"Why are the zombies evolving so quickly?"

Perhaps it was a habit honed over the years, but whenever Ning Tianlang felt flustered, he would light a cigarette to ease the tension.

Just then, voices could be heard outside the door. It appeared that soone was mocking his colleague.

The man struggled with his pronunciation in Chinese, "Mr. Zuo, your China really is a land of abundance!"

"Land of abundance" was a particularly pointed idiom, and upon hearing it, Zuo Yushan almost wished he could leap up and blow this damn Japanese fool’s brains out on the spot! But his rational side constantly reminded him he couldn’t do that.

A smug grin adorned Izaki Naruhiko’s face, evidently pleased with his clever use of the idiom!

China was indeed a land of abundance. The number and average strength of New Humans surpassed many countries, ranking amongst the top, neck and neck with other populous nations, even hinting at the top position.

However, China’s zombie population... was evolving incredibly fast. It had only been so long, and yet a Level 4 zombie had already erged?
