"Old Liu, what are you doing? Are you trying to kill ?" Zheng Minghui hurriedly raised his hand to block and asked him furiously.

"Die, why waste words?" Old Liu lifted his knife and swung at Zheng Minghui’s waist again.

Zheng Minghui nervously backed into the railing as Old Liu’s knife missed. As Old Liu prepared to strike again, Zheng Minghui spotted the green-faced dwarf zombie suddenly appearing behind him!

He stared wide-eyed, instinctively pointing behind him.

"Wait...wait! Behind...behind you!"

Old Liu paused at his words and turned around, only to see the last thing he wanted to see - the dwarf zombie.

"Run!" Zheng Minghui shouted, scrambling up a plank towards another building!

Old Liu was in a panic, noticing Zheng Minghui escaping. Realizing there was no ti for him to climb up, he decided to leap over the railing!

...

Tang Ye sat on a zombie whose brain had been removed, loading all the remaining bullets into his gun. After counting, he only had eighteen bullets left. Although he didn’t use guns often, a gun without bullets was frustrating indeed.

Bang!

A figure crashed hard into the sand, drawing Tang Ye’s attention. He squinted at the figure who was desperately running away. This area’s zombies were spread out – if fast enough, there might be a slim chance of survival!

Tang Ye studied the figure closely, recognizing him as a human, and sohow familiar!

"Who is that? Oh, right, it’s the guy who tried to hack at with a knife last ti. What is he doing here?"

Tang Ye was puzzled by Old Liu’s actions, confused about what could drive him to recklessly run towards the road. Tang Ye, without any inclination to help, watched him.

Three tis! Three tis he had tried to help others, only to be t with hostility. He wouldn’t fall for it the fourth ti. He could perhaps feel compassionate enough to save so old, young, sick or disabled people, but he definitely would not save soone who had once tried to hurt him!

His gaze followed Old Liu’s figure, while up on the rooftop, Zheng Minghui was lucky, the dwarf zombie didn’t chase him, but rather jumped down the building to pursue Old Liu!

Whoosh!

The zombie started moving at a high speed, chasing after Old Liu. As it neared Tang Ye, he felt an indescribable force pulling him, compelling him to chase after the figure.

"What the...!" Tang Ye was perplexed. As he looked up, he saw another shadow falling down from where Old Liu jumped, and then it buried into the sand pile and started chasing Old Liu at an incredible speed!

"What is that?" Tang Ye blurted out. He saw the shape clearly; it was a green-faced dwarf zombie!

The dwarf zombie was clad in a tattered black work uniform, moving at speeds around a hundred yards per second as if it was a car on a highway! It was only a matter of seconds before it caught up with Old Liu, leaving Tang Ye powerless to help, even if he wanted to.

Old Liu looked terrified under its grip, but the dwarf zombie was incredibly fast. The montum it had gained made it use Old Liu’s body as a cushion to crash into the load-bearing wall of a building.

Bang!

Old Liu’s body instantly exploded, blood splattering the wall. anwhile, the dwarf zombie started feasting on a piece of intact flesh!

Tang Ye’s eyes lit up as he watched.

"Is this another type of zombie?"

He had originally thought that zombies evolved to beco stronger and more powerful when they ate a lot, just like the previous giant zombie. But today, he encountered this dwarf zombie – fast and small – for the first ti, which piqued his curiosity.

As he wondered who would win in a fight between this zombie and the giant zombie, Tang Ye got up and walked towards it. This zombie was very formidable. If he ate it, what kind of evolution would he undergo?

The dwarf zombie’s skeletal hand hung down. Its recent evolution granted it a bony appendage after consuming Zhu Hongfan. This hand had been chopped off by Old Liu before. Its other hand was holding a bloody chunk of flesh, stuffing it into its mouth furiously.

Tang Ye: "A zombie with built-in weapons, huh?"

He sighed looking at the bony hand of the zombie, but that didn’t deter his intentions. Zombies don’t attack each other, regardless of what you do to them. Of course, if you’re human, you better start preparing your coffin!

Other zombies ca up to the dwarf zombie, tearing off a piece of flesh from Old Liu’s carcass to eat. The dwarf zombie seed to have had its fill. It turned its lifeless gaze to Tang Ye, not understanding why he was moving so slowly. Was he not hungry? But it was ti for it to leave now.

It took a mont to gather itself, then its legs began to pump like pistons, vanishing like the wind. Tang Ye watched it leave, baffled.

"Seriously, couldn’t it finish its al? Such waste." Tang Ye lanted, as if he’d just missed out on a $5 million windfall. He hadn’t expected the green-faced zombie to leave like that.

Helplessly scanning his surroundings, Tang Ye wished he had just shot it and extracted its brain. Now that would have been satisfying.

At this mont, Zheng Minghui, who had narrowly escaped the dwarf zombie just now, mustered up the courage to step out of the small bathroom. He cautiously looked at the stairs and peeked his head outside. Seeing a group of zombies in a huddle, he knew that Old Liu was dead.

Far from grieving, Zheng Minghui felt a rush of satisfaction.

"Serves him right! Trying to kill ? Serves him right. Good riddance!"

As he celebrated in his heart, his attention was suddenly drawn to a particular zombie.

"Huh? Who is that? He looks...Damn, a gun!"

Seeing the gun on Tang Ye’s back, Zheng Minghui was filled with greed. He wanted it for himself; with a gun, he would be invincible!

He wasn’t sure about the number of bullets left in the gun, but he was intent on getting the gun first!

He watched Tang Ye hesitantly as he was a strong man with a wicked look that didn’t make him seem like soone you would ss with. Especially the sight of two weapons on his back made him look like a special forces soldier!

However, Zheng Minghui’s greed overpowered his logic. He had never seen a real gun before the apocalypse, and although he wasn’t sure if the gun on Tang Ye’s back was real, the shiny and chilling weapon had him convinced that it was.

Fantasying about wielding the gun and commanding respect, Zheng Minghui noticed Tang Ye heading straight towards his building. He quickly hid behind the railing as he prepared to make his next move.

Tang Ye took a seat on a stone bench, staring blankly into the setting sun.
