After Tang Ye nodded, Dairya took a step back before turning and heading towards the innermost part of the store. Her goal was clear—it was the book called "Hepney’s Dream Forest."

Compared to her last visit a couple of days ago, Dairya was now carrying a plastic bag with her, containing so books. However, they were not fairy tale books like "Hepney’s Dream Forest," but rather, so textbooks?

It was only now that Tang Ye noticed the split seam on her backpack, which had previously been sewn up with a black cloth, had reopened. The gap had reappeared and was even larger now, extending across the entire bottom of the backpack. While it might have been able to hold so larger books before, it could now hold nothing, and everything that should have been inside the backpack was put into the plastic bag by her.

"Dairya," Tang Ye called out to her, causing her to pause and turn to look at him, a puzzled expression on her face.

"What’s up, Mr. Pillay?"

Tang Ye left the counter and went to search behind the shelves by the stairs, eventually coming out with a pink backpack that was about the sa size as the one she had.

At that mont, Tang Ye was grateful for having a store that seed to have everything.

He walked over to Dairya with the pink backpack. From his initial actions, Dairya was already stunned, and without giving her a chance to snap out of it, Tang Ye quickly snatched the plastic bag from her hand, putting all the books and various items into the new backpack.

"Mr. Pillay..."

"Don’t use that backpack anymore. Use this one."

He offered her the pink backpack, but she didn’t take it.

"But... I don’t have any money to buy it..."

"This is a gift from , no charge."

"But..."

"No buts. Do what you want to do."

After forcibly placing the backpack in her hands, Tang Ye returned to the counter. Dairya just stood there staring at him, watching as he sat down and picked up a book, finally bowing her head.

After about thirty seconds, Tang Ye heard a very soft "thank you," but he didn’t respond or say anything.

Perhaps knowing that Tang Ye wouldn’t engage with her anymore, Dairya had no choice but to turn towards the innermost part of the store, sitting on the small stool she sat on a few days ago, pulling out "Hepney’s Dream Forest" to continue reading.

The occasional breeze outside made the flowers and plants in the small garden tremble. The footsteps of passersby from ti to ti mixed unexpectedly with the music from the music box. The shop was very quiet. Perhaps not wanting to disturb this warmth, no custors ca in.

This ti, Dairya read for a long while. It wasn’t until Tang Ye finished reading the contents of his book that he noticed it was already dark outside. He glanced towards the innermost part of the shop and saw that Dairya was still there. She was so quiet that Tang Ye felt as if he was the only one in the shop.

Oh no, just a lone zombie.

Putting down his book, Tang Ye walked over to Dairya. He saw she had finished "Hepney’s Dream Forest" and was staring blankly at the last section.

Heroes of the Dream Forest, behold, your cream mushroom rolls have arrived. Please enjoy them to the fullest.

Tang Ye stood behind her for about ten seconds before Dairya finally reacted, hurriedly turning to look back.

"Ah? Mr. Pillay."

"Finished reading?"

"Finished... No, Mr. Pillay, please trust , I won’t go back on my word. I will definitely buy it, absolutely!"

"That’s not what I an," Tang Ye said, glancing at the night outside. It was probably already eight or nine o’clock, and he was very doubtful about Dairya’s parents. How could they be so unreliable, letting their child stay out so late without coming to look for her, not fearing sothing might happen to her?

"It’s getting late. I think you should head ho; otherwise, your parents might worry about you." Tang Ye said kindly to Dairya, but the other party fell silent, taking a mont before placing the book back on the shelf.

"Okay, I understand." She wore a reluctant expression as she put the book back.

"Would you like to walk you ho?"

"No need, Mr. Pillay."

"Alright then."

Dairya nodded hesitantly, eventually picking up the pink backpack Tang Ye had given her. She stood up from the stool and bowed once more to Tang Ye.

"Mr. Pillay, thank you for the gift."

"It’s nothing... But..." Tang Ye accepted gladly, but then suddenly changed the subject: "I do have one request."

"Ah? What... what request?"

"This is a gift from , but you need to take good care of it, okay?"

"Oh! I will, Mr. Pillay."

"Alright, head back, and stay safe."

Tang Ye tentatively reached out his hand. She didn’t shy away, so finally, Tang Ye patted her head and walked with her to the shop entrance. She didn’t dodge his hand, indicating she had developed a basic level of trust towards him, which was not bad.

He needed to earn her goodwill. However, Tang Ye didn’t know what to do once he had gained her goodwill. Looking at the current situation, there might not be any transformation between the worlds for a long ti, and he wouldn’t receive any instructions from Lu Xiaojie either.

After opening the shop door and watching Dairya step outside, she bowed to Tang Ye again, leaving him a bit helpless, not knowing what to say.

He watched her walk past the small garden in front of the shop to the street. Suddenly, Dairya stopped, turned to glance at Tang Ye, seemingly wanting to say sothing, but she kept her mouth shut and ran off, vanishing from Tang Ye’s sight.

Of course, Tang Ye noticed this detail, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"What did she want to say just now?"

"Forget it; when the ti is right, she will probably say whatever it is she wanted to say." He sighed, returning inside the shop, ready to face another grueling all-nighter!

While preparing night-ti activities to pass the ti, Tang Ye found himself unable to calm down, just standing outside, watching the stars roll by in the night sky, spending the entire night like this.

In the morning, he didn’t go out but watched as noisy students passed by the shop entrance. Neighbors watered their gardens in front of their hos every morning, warmly greeting the students passing by. No one noticed that a certain zombie on the second floor was watching them.

Suddenly, Tang Ye’s eyes lifted slightly. Across the street, he saw a man sitting on a bench, sipping coffee. The man had long noticed him, and once Tang Ye’s gaze fell on him, the man waved at Tang Ye to show his politeness.

Tang Ye responded with just a smile, and at that mont, he heard the sound of the door opening below. Tang Ye unleashed his senses.

It wasn’t a custor but Dairya. However, her mood seed a bit off.
