Just at the second that Brother Shi’s voice fell, a strange sound ca from sowhere, before the group could figure out what it was, the low growl of zombies was accompanied by a loud explosion, causing the entire building to shake noticeably!
"Sh*t!"
The wall beside the three suddenly cracked with nurous fissures, followed by the ground that also split open!
"Retreat!" Brother Shi shouted, instinctively reaching for Ghost Head, but even Wu Zhixiong hadn’t reacted in ti when the building shook again, this ti even more violently, causing the three to tumble down the stairs! Before they could get their bearings, the ground collapsed. Brother Shi and Ghost Head unpreparedly fell through, but at the crucial mont, Wu Zhixiong grabbed onto an exposed steel bar, using his other hand to hold onto Brother Shi.
"F*ck!"
Bang!
He cursed, perhaps angering whatever entity was involved, another explosion sounded almost deafening, making his ears itch unbearably though he had no free hand to relieve them!
anwhile, Ghost Head’s shoulder was pierced by a steel bar jutting through the wall, causing him to grimace in pain, yet seeing Brother Shi’s predicant, he gritted his teeth and forcibly pulled himself free!
He crawled towards Wu Zhixiong and Brother Shi like a newborn straining for survival.
"Ghost Head, hurry!"
"Coming!"
Reaching Wu Zhixiong’s hand that clutched the steel bar, he didn’t pause for breath, imdiately trying to pull them both up, but although he caught hold, his weakened state left him with no strength to hoist them!
At that mont, another tremor resonated around them, making the trio feel as if sothing was propelling them, as if shoved!
"What the hell is happening!" Brother Shi, suspended below by Wu Zhixiong’s grip turned pale from the unexpected turn, unable to maintain composure.
"Shh." Wu Zhixiong gestured for quiet, urging them to listen intently to the surrounding noises.
They heard the operation sounds of chs, along with continuous laser weapon and heavy laser cannon fire, zombie waves roaring, seemingly agitated by sothing.
Though Ghost Head above tried to pull them up, Wu Zhixiong dared not loosen his hold, gripping tightly as he glanced down at Brother Shi, "Hold onto my leg!"
"I’m holding on!"
Brother Shi imdiately followed Wu Zhixiong’s instructions, tightly hugging his leg while Wu Zhixiong, with a freed hand, grabbed at the ledge, aided by Ghost Head, climbing upwards. But just as they neared success, the building shook once more, causing a nearby wall to collapse heavily, exposing an apocalyptic scene!
Amidst dense waves of zombies, several chs fought desperately to break through, the chain sword on one ch’s right arm reduced to shreds! As Wu Zhixiong looked down, he saw one ch being tackled to the ground by a Level 5 zombie, the ch crashing down amidst a cloud of dust, zombies imdiately swarming, tearing open the ch, brutally killing the pilot inside!
"Ma De, hurry up!" Brother Shi shouted, gripping Wu Zhixiong’s foot tightly, sweat pouring from his forehead as the wall collapsed, realizing they were on the fourth floor of the building, not far from ground level but with many Level 4 zombies waiting below!
They had no idea where the chs ca from, causing the zombie hordes to rampage, nor cared what fate awaited the pilots struggling in the thick of it; they only hoped the chs would distract so zombies!
But they hadn’t noticed the real cause of the zombie chaos!
Lasers occasionally shot out from nearby buildings, piercing the zombie horde like swords!
"Use so force!" Hauling up Brother Shi below, Wu Zhixiong used all his strength to lift himself halfway, just as he was about to climb completely, when on the other side of the battle sothing collided with the building! Followed by a loud "bang," Wu Zhixiong looked up, witnessing a shadow crash through the building from about twenty floors up, flying several streets away out of sight with debris bursting into the air a dozen ters high!
"Holy sh*t!"
Before he could react, Ghost Head above let out a scream as the building tilted towards them, slipping Ghost Head off unexpectedly!
"Dammit!"
Brother Shi, clutching Wu Zhixiong’s foot, saw this and reached out, but failed to catch Ghost Head, watching him tumble down!
Thud!
The falling Ghost Head slamd into the debris below, sitting dazed against the cracked concrete pillar, unable to move, as zombies were instantly drawn to his presence, hungry eyes turning toward him!
Roar!
The zombies sensed the presence of living flesh on Ghost Head, surging forward, but already injured and weakened, he couldn’t react, only watching the overwhelming horde rush towards him!
"Ah, journey’s end." He murmured forlornly, resigned as he’d already co to terms with death, dying now seed inevitable.
Soon, the first zombie reached him, opening its terrifying mouth, a foul stench rushing at him!
Human survival instinct made him instinctively raise his arm, pupils constricting, but it offered no defense, watching the zombie’s maw draw closer, he shut his eyes, waiting for death’s pain.
Except... it wasn’t as expected, hearing a dull collision instead, his body untouched by zombie teeth, feeling nothing.
"What’s happening?" Ghost Head wondered, opening his eyes uneasily without the expected pain.
One look and his expression froze, eyes eting Brother Shi and Wu Zhixiong’s bewildered faces above, before him was a clear space, zombies crowded to one side, desperately squeezing between corpses for a glimpse!
And before the horde, there stood a flaming silver-armored zombie!
