Yan Jie looked at Tang Ye’s towering figure and paused. The confusion in his eyes seed to be driven away, and as if possessed, he also ran after him. He didn’t know why he wanted to keep pace with Tang Ye, but it seed like a voice inside him was guiding him.
It felt as if following this "person" was the right thing to do!
The silhouette of Tang Ye and the others disappeared into an alley. They had just killed soone, but they didn’t feel uncomfortable. The cold-hearted nature of people only hardened with the arrival of the apocalypse. What Tang Ye didn’t notice, though, was a surveillance cara in the corner silently recording everything that had just happened.
After walking for a while, Chen Chaoyang hinted to them that they were nearing their quarters. At this point, Tang Ye stopped, turned around, and looked at Yan Jie, who had been following them all this while.
He had noticed this young man following him earlier. However, Tang Ye decided not to engage him right away, assuming the man perhaps needed sothing from him. But now, after all this ti, why wasn’t he saying anything?

Anxiously, Yan Jie stared at Tang Ye, his mind running over how to face what Tang Ye would say to him.
Tang Ye’s eyes swept over Yan Jie in the darkness, and only after a long while did he speak: "What do you want from us?"
"Uh... I... Thanks for helping get revenge. But... I don’t know where I should go now. So, I can only... for now... follow you guys."
"Help you get revenge? ... Was it that guy just now?"
"Yes, that guy. He killed my brother, so I went to take revenge. If it wasn’t for you, I would have surely failed. But... don’t worry. You helped get revenge, and I will definitely repay you. I have nowhere else to go now, so I can only beg you to take in."

Tang Ye’s eyes shone with amusent. He thought this young man was a bit naive. Anyone could make promises, but how many could keep them? Especially now, during the apocalypse, promises and vows were as valuable as farts!
He didn’t want this youngster to follow him, due to his own peculiar identity. If his secret was exposed, he would beco a pri target, and all the people in the base would gang up on him. Even though Tang Ye wasn’t afraid—he was a level 3 zombie and knew his strength full well—he still believed he could escape unscathed even if the whole of Yindan base was to attack him. However, this kind of trouble wasn’t from the martial power in the base, it was from Ning Yu’er here.
He was in a dilemma. On one hand, he wanted to see Ning Yu’er, but on the other, he didn’t want her to see him here. He could wantonly slaughter the survivors here, but he didn’t want her to witness the heinous acts he had committed!

However, one condition had to be t for this. He could not find out that Tang Ye was a zombie!

"My surna is Yan, and my na is Jie." he replied.
"Yan Jie, huh..."
"Yes, that’s right!"
"You would never betray , right? No matter who I am, or even if I’m not human?"
Upon hearing Tang Ye’s last words, Yan Jie, who had been excited thinking that Tang Ye had agreed, froze. He couldn’t comprehend what Tang Ye ant by that.
"What could ’not being human’ possibly an?"
Yan Jie hadn’t yet realized the gravity of the situation, but on an impulse, he nodded fiercely in agreent.
From then on, Yan Jie climbed on board Tang Ye’s boat of deception, never to get off again.
