Purple energy rapidly crawled from Minato’s right hand onto Nagato’s right arm, interrupting his process of forming a Truth-Seeking Ball in his palm.
Then ca an excruciating pain that pierced deep into his soul.
"What is this?"
Nagato violently retracted his right hand, staring at the lingering purple energy that seed vaguely familiar.
Minato reached out to support Jiraiya, and in a flash of golden light, they instantly returned to the ground.
"I rember the last ti I had the King of Hell summoned through the Naraka Path devour your soul, Fourth Hokage."
Nagato lowered his gaze, glaring at Minato.
"After that, I could no longer summon the King of Hell."
Minato handed the injured Jiraiya over to Tsunade.
"And now, you possess the power of the King of Hell." Nagato continued, "What did you do?"
"It wasn’t ." Minato still smiled gently.
"Oh?" Nagato turned his attention to Kaito. "Then it must be you, Uchiha Kaito."
"Indeed, it was ."
Kaito stepped forward from behind Madara and gave a slight nod.
"It seems I underestimated you, to be capable of such a feat." Nagato’s voice was heavy. "Perhaps you might even save the world from the legends."
"Then I thank you for your high regard."
Kaito responded with humble courtesy.
"Cough... cough... cough..."
At this mont, under Tsunade’s treatnt, Jiraiya coughed a few tis and finally managed to speak coherently: "Nagato, what do you an by the world’s destruction?"
"Exactly what it sounds like."
White spores erged from Nagato’s body, enveloping Konan’s form.
"The Infinite Tsukuyomi is not so genjutsu that brings peace."
He released his left hand, and the spores encasing Konan fell from midair, rging into the earth.
Nagato sneered as he looked at Madara. "Even a man like Uchiha Madara was deceived by the rats hiding in the shadows."
"What’s going on, Madara?"
Hashirama imdiately turned to Madara.
"Heh."
Madara scoffed but said nothing more.
"The Infinite Tsukuyomi will summon the deities of creation and destruction."
Nagato spread his arms and proclaid dramatically.
"This world is already filled with despair for . So, let us all perish together!!!"
"Deities?"
"Is that true?"
"How could such things exist?"
"He must have gone mad!"
At this mont, the vast majority of those present could not believe Nagato’s words, instead convinced that he had descended into madness.
"Nagato."
A spatial vortex swirled, and "Obito" suddenly appeared.
"You’ve co, Obito." Nagato’s expression grew increasingly animated. "Here to question ? But it’s too late now. This is the price for your years of deception and manipulation of the Akatsuki!"
"You bastard!!!"
"Obito" roared with deep imrsion in his role. "Is what you’re saying true?"
"Indeed." Nagato looked at him mockingly. "A peaceful world constructed by genjutsu does not exist. Even Uchiha Madara has given up on it."
In an instant, he flashed in front of Obito, whispering maliciously, "So, you can never create a world with Rin."
"You damn—!!!"
Sharp wooden spikes shot out from Obito’s hands.
"How pitiful..."
Nagato waved his hand, and a Truth-Seeking Ball shattered the wooden spikes before crashing toward "Obito."
"Both you and I are the sa!"
"If that’s the case..."
"Obito" activated his intangibility, letting the Truth-Seeking Ball pass through him.
"I’ll stop you." His blood-red eyes beneath the mask glowed crimson. "No matter what you plan to do!"
"As you wish."
Nagato didn’t bother with him further, leaping into the air again to evade attacks from Hashirama and Tobirama.
"Madara." Hashirama simply ran to Madara’s side. "Why haven’t you two made a move yet?"
"Naturally..."
Madara looked up at the full moon in the night sky, a wild grin spreading across his face.
"We are waiting for the deities to appear..."
He then turned his gaze to et Hashirama’s.
"...so we can slay them."
"Hahahaha..."
Hashirama suddenly burst into laughter, grabbing his own hair.
"What are you talking about, Madara?!"
He pointed at the sky.
"That kid’s words sound like complete nonsense..."
Under Madara’s intense stare, his voice gradually trailed off. His expression suddenly changed, and he asked uncertainly, "It is nonsense... right?"
"Heh."
Madara imdiately shifted his attention back to Nagato.
"What’s really going on?"
"Why has the fighting stopped?"
"What exactly is happening?"
"Why haven’t the leaders taken action?"
In this situation, the leadership of both the Uchiha and Konoha sides understood the circumstances and refrained from acting.
The others, unsure of the reason, also hesitated to attack recklessly.
The battlefield seed to have reached a stalemate.
"Obito."
Kakashi approached from behind "Obito," calling softly.
"Obito" remained silent.
"I’m sorry..." Kakashi continued. "I failed to protect Rin."
"Obito" still said nothing, and Kakashi didn’t press further.
After a long pause, "Obito" spoke in a hoarse voice.
"My dream is shattered, Kakashi."
Under Kaito’s direction, the blood puppet attempted to help Kakashi move on from the past.
"To achieve an illusory fantasy—a peaceful world where Rin, you, and everyone else could live—I abandoned this ugly reality long ago."
Kakashi’s body trembled at his words.
"Sensei... Kushina... and Naruto..."
"Obito" turned to look at Minato’s family behind Kakashi.
"...I’m sorry. You were all part of the reality I discarded. That’s why... the Nine-Tails’ attack... was my doing."
"Obito" reached up and removed his mask, revealing a face etched with eternal scars and devoid of hope.
"My life has lost all aning." His eyes were lifeless. "In the end... I just wanted to stand in the past... to make ands for sothing..."
...
On the other side, Kaito watched coldly, his lips twitching.
This guy... is he overdoing it a bit?
Whatever.
Kaito averted his gaze, unwilling to indulge the theatrics.
At that mont.
In the sky, Nagato suddenly ford hand seals.
BOOM!!
The earth trembled and split apart.
A colossal tree crowned with an enormous bud erupted from the ground, growing at an alarming rate. It pierced through the clouds in an instant, towering like a pillar holding up the heavens.
"There are too many ants."
Nagato’s gaze swept across the densely packed crowd on the battlefield as he ford another set of seals.
Giant flowers blood from the towering tree.
Then, from their centers, equally terrifying Tailed Beast Balls shot out, raining down upon the battlefield from all directions.
"Stop them!!!"
Hashirama imdiately sprang into action.
"Wood Release: Wood Human Technique!"
"Flying Thunder God: Guiding Thunder!"
"Kamui!"
"Kurama!"
"Susanoo!"
Hashirama, Minato, Kakashi, Naruto, and Sasuke acted almost simultaneously, successfully intercepting the Tailed Beast Balls midair.
