"No way! It’s too dangerous!" Neji firmly refused. "Brother Shoyo, Sister Natsu, you two should go. Sasuke and I will leave on our own."
"What’s wrong, Neji? Don’t you trust us?" Shoyo tilted his head.
"That’s right, I don’t trust you." Neji coldly stared at him. "Step aside, or we’ll have no choice but to knock you down first!"
"Hehehe..." Shoyo tilted his head back and laughed again. "Neji is worried about dragging us into this, huh? Such a good kid."
"I said, step aside!" Neji growled.
"I’ve already made my decision." Shoyo’s expression beca serious, and his unwavering gaze intimidated Neji.
"Don’t worry about us, Neji," Natsu added, "My brother and I have already made a plan."
Neji’s face darkened. "Do you two even realize? If the Main Branch finds out, you both will be finished!"
"Maybe, but we still want to pursue a different future." Shoyo looked Neji in the eye seriously. "Perhaps, the chance to change the Hyuga clan lies with you, Neji."
"Brother Shoyo, Sister Natsu..." Neji’s expression beca complicated. "Thank you."
"No need to thank us!" Shoyo instantly grinned again with pride.
Just then...
*Swish!*
A dark figure flashed by, and suddenly Sasuke appeared behind the two siblings.
He withdrew his palms from their necks.
Natsu collapsed.
"Damn it..." Shoyo’s vacant eyes widened. "I clearly saw it..."
"You saw it, but your body couldn’t react in ti."
Neji leaped down from the tree branch and caught the falling siblings, carefully placing them on the ground.
"Let’s go."
He glanced at the unconscious pair, then jumped up again, heading south.
"Leaving them unconscious like that, won’t they be in danger?" Sasuke asked, following beside him.
Neji didn’t look back. "No, the patrol team will arrive in that area soon."
Sasuke turned to look at the two lying on the ground from a distance. "It seems many in the Hyuga branch will support you."
"Of course. Even though we’re of the sa blood, our statuses are completely different. Though we’re brothers, just being born later condemns us to slavery. Who would be willing to accept that?"
Neji sped up, his voice trembling slightly.
"I didn’t think much about it before, just wanted my own freedom... but now..."
"You can’t leave behind those who share your fate, can you?" Sasuke seed to understand.
"Yes... That’s why I must beco stronger, strong enough to reform the Hyuga clan’s traditions." Neji’s voice beca firm.
"I understand. Without strength, there’s no future. Even if you have treasures, others will try to take them." Sasuke’s tone turned cold.
"Right."
The two of them swiftly moved through the forest, adjusting their route using Neji’s Byakugan and Sasuke’s crow reconnaissance.
...
"Hey! What happened here!?"
A team of patrolling ninjas discovered Shoyo and Natsu lying on the ground.
"dic-nin!"
A female dic-nin rushed over to check on them and then let out a sigh of relief.
"They’re fine, no injuries, just knocked unconscious." She stood up. "They’ll wake up soon."
"Captain!" One of the patrol mbers asked, "Should we take them back to the camp?"
"Let’s wait until they wake up and ask them," the patrol captain stepped forward, "We’ll stay here, and you all, keep watch around the area!"
"Yes!"
The patrol mbers scattered and hid.
"Yanji, can you wake them up early?" The captain looked down at the unconscious siblings. "If they were only knocked out without being hard, it was probably Neji and Sasuke. We need to know where they went!"
"No need, Captain. This kid is already waking up." Yanji watched as Shoyo’s eyelids fluttered.
"Ugh..."
Shoyo "struggled" to open his eyes, dazed for a mont, then quickly sat up with ease.
"Little Natsu!!" He anxiously looked around, then reached out to hold the still-unconscious Natsu. "Natsu! Are you okay!?"
"She’s fine. She’ll wake up soon," Yanji reassured him.
Shoyo looked up, as if only just noticing them, and gratefully smiled at the two of them. "Thank you! Thank you for saving us!"
"Na? What happened here?" The captain remained calm, asking coldly, "Why were you two here?"
"I’m sorry, we acted on our own." Shoyo imdiately bowed. "I’m Hyuga Shoyo, and this is my sister, Natsu. After hearing about Neji’s defection, I got so angry that I rushed out with my sister."
"So, you encountered Neji and Uchiha Sasuke?" the captain asked.
"Yes." Shoyo nodded obediently.
The captain squatted beside him. "Do you know where they went?"
"No, I don’t." Shoyo imdiately shook his head. "As soon as we t them, both my sister and I were knocked out. We don’t know where they went."
"I see."
The captain said no more and stood up, shouting orders. "You all heard it! Now, carefully search the area for clues!"
"Yes!"
The patrol mbers, hidden in the shadows, imdiately reappeared and began searching the surroundings carefully.
Shoyo didn’t pay attention to their movents. He only lowered his head, looking worriedly at Natsu, still unconscious in his arms.
At that mont, the group suddenly heard additional voices.
"Everyone! What’s going on here?"
Might Guy appeared with Rock Lee, Tenten, and Shino, the four of them suddenly standing before everyone.
"Might Guy!" The captain stepped forward.
"Hello, have you found any trace of Neji?" Might Guy’s tone was anxious.
"Yes, those two, Shoyo and Natsu, encountered Neji and Uchiha Sasuke here. Unfortunately, they were knocked out and don’t know where the two went. My team is searching for clues now."
"I see." Might Guy sighed, placing his hands on his hips. "Looks like we’ve lost track of them again."
"Sensei..." Rock Lee looked at him with concern.
"I’m fine! I’m already back in high spirits!" Might Guy perked up in an instant. "Think carefully, Lee, Tenten, Shino. Which direction would Neji and Sasuke take?"
"Well..."
Rock Lee and Tenten couldn’t figure it out.
"South," Shino said confidently, pushing up his sunglasses. "If you’re asking why, it’s because all the border regions are heavily guarded by Leaf ninjas. Security is tight right now. But if they take a detour south and go out to sea, they won’t encounter too many obstacles."
