"Jianjian! I’m your mother!"
One sentence successfully made Qin Shujian pause, and quieted down the excited fans.
All at once, everyone turned their heads towards the source of the sound.
Behind the car, two elderly people stood, a man and a woman. Both were dressed in worn clothing patched in many places. The man, dark-skinned and scrawny, starkly contrasted the woman, who despite having much white hair, seed more healthy and robust.
Seeing that Qin Shujian had paused, the woman lifted her foot, moving towards Qin Shujian. The woman hadn’t reached Qin Shujian when her tears started to fall, "Jianjian, why don’t you co ho to see mom anymore? Do you know how much mom misses you?"
"Jianjian, the New Year is coming soon, will you go ho with mom to celebrate? If you don’t co ho, how will you know what’s happening at ho? Your younger brother is injured and is in the hospital fighting for his life. To save him, your father and I have sold our house... Jianjian, you’ll help your brother, won’t you?"
