Xia Wan’an froze. It took her a good while to understand what Han Jingnian was implying.

He hadn’t seen her for even a mont...Could it be that what he was responding to was her declaration yesterday: don’t see for a month?

So... after she entered the conference room, he had been using docunts to shield his face. He wasn’t really reading, but was actually avoiding facing her?

She had shown up in front of him willingly. According to typical male logic, shouldn’t he imdiately try to appease her and demand to be allowed to co ho that night? Why did he treat it so seriously?

Caught off guard by Han Jingnian’s response, Xia Wan’an felt a mixture of wanting to laugh and cry: "..."

Han Jingnian saw that Xia Wan’an wasn’t speaking. Although he was very curious about what she was doing, he didn’t sneak a look at her. Instead, he opened his mouth again: "There are still twenty-nine days and four hours and six minutes..."

Hearing this, Xia Wan’an felt an urge to explode: "..."

Calling him an idiot, was he really an idiot! He even rembered the exact ti so clearly!! And even down to the minute!!!

With that in mind, Xia Wan’an couldn’t help but retort: "Why not down to the second?"

"When I left ho, the second hand on my watch was almost at thirty. If you really want precision down to the second, there’s an estimated twenty-nine days and four hours and five minutes and thirty-two seconds left..."

Xia Wan’an suddenly slapped the table: "Han Jingnian, are you doing this on purpose? Let tell you, from now on, I am ignoring you!"

She married a man so honest he could be infuriating! She felt like it would kill her!

Han Jingnian, who was holding the docunts, trembled slightly at her words.

The conference room fell silent for a while. The voice of Han Jingnian, hidden behind the docunts, finally ca out, his tone steady but obviously nervous: "No, I didn’t an it...It’s...It’s..."

He seed to struggle to speak, pausing several tis before finally uttering the rest of the sentence: "It’s just...those twenty hours were really hard."

Being used to coming ho from work, having her by his side every night, waking up next to her every morning...the disruption of these habits made every second seem incredibly long. So long, that last night, he woke up five tis, each ti discovering it was still just a little past three in the morning.

Xia Wan’an, originally fuming at Han Jingnian, froze at his last sentence.

Those twenty hours were very difficult... Was he talking about the twenty hours after he left ho? It was too hard... Was he saying that the ti after he left ho was agonizing for him?

Though his words weren’t ant to comfort her, they were better than all the sweet talk in the world. The anger in Xia Wan’an’s heart evaporated instantly.

What’s that saying? ’Marry a chicken and follow the chicken, marry a dog and follow the dog.’ She chose the most straightforward man in the universe. He had so little experience with won that he didn’t understand the hidden anings and the ’say one thing but an another’ chanisms at the heart of girls, so now it’s up to her to figure out how to train him...

Thinking of this, Xia Wan’an turned her eyes to the docunt shielding Han Jingnian’s face. After staring for a mont, she abruptly stood up and snatched the docunt from Han Jingnian’s hand.

Han Jingnian’s body jolted. Before he could react, Xia Wan’an leaned in close to him: "Han Jingnian, have you heard of the saying...’When a girl says no, she actually ans yes’?"
