“What purpose does it serve to target the Antarctic continent with missiles? And the idea of arming nuclear weapons, isn't that a step towards contaminating the Earth's last untouched haven? Not to ntion, doesn't the encounter with the creature known as Typhon ring any warning bells for you? What if we happen to co across another entity that can consu nuclear energy? Are we prepared for that scenario?”

The Russian representative had just finished his remarks when the noble Englishman loudly retorted.

“You imbecile! Have you lost your mind from living on an isolated island for too long? How on earth could you utter such foolish statents?”

As soon as the voice of the representative from England finished, their arch-rivals, the representative from France, sarcastically chid in, “By the way, are you actually going to leave the EU or not? We in the European Union are all set and ready!”

"Our new pri minister has already taken office, and within three months we are absolutely out of the European Union, this ti we are keeping to our words!!!"

The English could never accept the mockery of the French. These two countries with an old grudge imdiately argued with each other.

“Alright, would the representatives of both countries please calm down? Ti is of the essence. Let’s talk about Antarctica.”

The representative from China quickly tried to pull the plug on their argunt.

The usually silent representative from the United States finally spoke up, breaking the silence and unexpectedly supporting the Russian proposal. “We, the United States, endorse the Russian proposition. Please take a look at this. It’s the combat data from when Typhon appeared in the Pacific Ocean, involving our U.S. Pacific Fleet.”

This ti, the representative did not hesitate to share their valuable information.

“First of all, this is the route and speed of Typhon’s advance as predicted by experts. If no one stopped it, Typhon would have landed on the west coast of the United States in two days and left many cities destroyed in its path. It’s thanks to the U.S. Pacific Fleet’s battle that slowed down Typhon and bought us enough ti.”

“In other words, human weapons are not completely useless. At the very least, when facing these sowhat comprehensible monsters, we could hold it back with our firepower to an extent.”

The expert argued his point of view with all sorts of data, causing the audience to nod their heads as they watched. They thought that the Aricans were not acting as blindly as before and had placed in enough hard work..

This shift in perspective was largely due to the ergence of various mythological creatures, which had led humans to gradually gain so understanding about these beings. Additionally, the Aricans were genuinely frightened by the disaster caused by Typhon's landing on the West Coast during the previous incident. As a result, they had beco even more cautious when dealing with these creatures.

“But what’s the point of just delaying?”

The English representative couldn’t help but ask.

“Of course, there is a point!”

The Arican representative affird, “As long as we can stall for a certain amount of ti and prevent it from reaching civilization, we will be able to ask for help from the supernatural forces!”

The representatives from other countries were montarily taken aback upon hearing the words of the Arican representative. These usually self-assured Aricans seed to have beco smarter, no longer insisting on being the world's policen to maintain global peace. Instead, they had learned to seek the help of the more powerful players, while they themselves stood behind, cheering on like spectators!

However, many countries were also secretly nodding their heads. They felt that this was truly the most ideal situation.

What followed after was a vote, and the Arican proposal was unanimously approved by all mbers. The countries would contribute manpower and effort when a monster appeared. They would use human weapons to block the monster temporarily and request help from supernatural forces as much as they could to solve things.

Unconsciously, the countries of the world had gotten used to relying on supernatural powers, and the power of the gods. The planet seed to have changed rulers under subtle influence.

Just as the eting was about to be adjourned, the representatives of five permanent mbers of the United Nations as well as Germany, Japan, and Australia all looked aghast as they received a ssage at the sa ti.

Seeing everyone's silence, the representative from China cleared his throat and addressed the perplexed representatives from other countries, “I have unfortunate news to share. Not long ago, satellites from various nations detected an abnormal disturbance in the Pacific Ocean. A massive vortex has ford at sea, and this is the image captured by our satellites. Before looking at this photograph, I urge you all to be prepared.”

The representative of China placed a picture on the screen, and the many representatives who didn't know what was going on rushed to look at it, only to see that there was a latitude and longitude on the picture, which was exactly 6 north latitudes and 160 east longitudes. This was the vicinity of Pohnpei Island in the western Pacific Ocean.

In the image, the once calm and tranquil Pacific Ocean had been engulfed by an incredibly eerie storm. Erging from the sea was an imnsely colossal whirlpool with a diater spanning tens of thousands of ters. This vortex seed to have hollowed out the surface of the ocean, revealing a vast expanse of enigmatic land beneath. Within this land lay an exceptionally eerie city, distorted and asymtrical, utterly at odds with human aesthetics, and radiating an otherworldly aura!

And in this city above the vortex, there seed to be the shadow of a huge disgusting octopus-like monster.

When everyone saw the monster, their brains were shaken and dizzy. There were even so who got a nosebleed.

The people hastily averted their eyes and the representative of China also quickly removed the image. The representative covered his head with his hand and spoke in a pained voice, “I think the United States should be aware of what this monster is, right?”

“That’s right. We naturally know what it is.”

The United States representative groaned in pain as his complexion turned pale, “That monster once appeared in the Pacific Ocean and turned an ocean freighter into a ghost ship. That freighter was rediscovered by your country.”

“Oh God, why did this monster appear? Why is it on Earth? Although that thing shouldn’t be the original body, it's still no ordinary monster. It’s an evil god, none other than the famous Great Old One, Cthulhu!”

“And the city that appeared under the sea is most likely the legendary R'lyeh!!”

The representative of the United States seed to know a lot about the Cthulhu mythology. He forced himself to endure the pain in his head and roared loudly, “According to our satellite tracking, Cthulhu is currently moving toward the Antarctic!! There seed to be sothing attracting it there!!”

Upon hearing this, everyone's gaze fixated on the screen displaying the region of the Antarctic continent. None could predict what events would unfold in that uninhabited land, yet a pervasive sense of fear gripped each individual. The possibility of any issue arising in Antarctica, leading to a rise in global sea levels, weighed heavily on their minds — a catastrophe capable of claiming countless lives.

“Notify the Antarctic research station, let everyone evacuate! Anyone facing this monster would just go crazy with a single look. Humans are simply insignificant beings in front of these monsters. It’s useless to keep many people there!”

“China and Japan should see if you can get in touch with those two supernatural beings and obtain their support. The Holy Son should have also left behind an earthly angel before returning to heaven. The Vatican should see if the great holy angel knows anything!”

The Aricans, perhaps used to being the leader of the world, were still calling the shots at this point.

But no one cared, because this was a world crisis. This was not the ti to quarrel and fight for power.

Facing the Great Old One, even if it was just a shadow or a dream, a single step from it was enough to drag the whole planet into the abyss!

This planet was getting more and more chaotic. Many people were even using their brains to see if they could colonize Mars.
