Holding her phone, Su Yue used its built-in flashlight to navigate. The beam didn’t reach far, but she continued slowly into the depths of the dim woods, calling out as she went.

"Whoa..." Not watching her step, Su Yue tripped on the undergrowth. If she hadn’t been quick enough to grab a nearby tree, she would have fallen flat on her face.

After steadying herself, Su Yue called out again, but there was no response from within the dim woods. Even the agonized pig squeal she had heard earlier was gone.
In that mont, the only sounds were the soft whisper of the wind and the rustling of leaves.

RUSTLE... RUSTLE...
With no one else around, the sound of the leaves rustling in the wind was enough to make anyone’s heart race in the dim surroundings.

Just as Su Yue was about to call out again, soone suddenly tapped her on the shoulder. She snapped her mouth shut and spun around frantically to look behind her.
"Su Yue, didn’t I tell you to wait in the car? What are you doing in here?" Lin Li said with a smile. "Don’t tell you wanted to sneak a peek while I was taking a leak!"
The mont she saw it was Lin Li who had tapped her shoulder, Su Yue let out a sigh of relief. She had been terribly anxious, worried that he’d been attacked by a wild pig and that sothing awful had happened to him.
She had been about to laugh out loud with relief, but Lin Li’s joke made her mood sour instantly. Annoyed, she reached out and pinched him hard on his ribs.
Lin Li, who was completely unguarded against Su Yue, could only watch wide-eyed as she launched her surprise attack, claws out.

When Lin Li saw Su Yue walking out of the dim woods, he hurried to catch up. "Right, why did you co in here anyway? Didn’t I tell you to wait in the car? Did you need to use the bathroom too? If you have to go, now’s the ti."
Su Yue glanced at Lin Li walking beside her. "I heard an awful squealing sound from in here while I was in the car," she said. "I was worried you’d run into a wild pig, so I ca to find you. It’s not because I needed the bathroom."
"..." Lin Li, who had still been grumbling internally about Su Yue’s unprovoked attack, froze for a mont when he heard what she said.
Then, any lingering frustration he felt vanished in an instant.
Lin Li raised a hand to rub his nose. He didn’t say anything else, simply falling into step beside Su Yue as they walked out of the dim woods together.

Things unfolded more or less as Lin Li had expected. After escaping the dim woods, the young man and woman who had been attacked by the Wild Boar Beast told the roadside bystanders what they had been through.
So of the more experienced onlookers imdiately deduced that the wild pig the pair had encountered was likely a Wild Boar Beast.
The young man and woman were shocked to learn that the wild pig they had just encountered was actually a Mutant Beast. Their hearts, which had only just begun to settle, started pounding in their chests all over again.
