In the dim forest, sunlight was blocked by the dense canopy, with only a few rays of light piercing through the gaps in the leaves.
A young couple slowly made their way deeper into the woods.
"This should be far enough. Why don’t you just go here?" the young man said to his girlfriend.
The young woman glanced back and said to her boyfriend, "We’re still not far enough from the path. How about we go a little deeper?"
"Oh, co on! Let’s not go any deeper. The farther in we go, the darker it gets, and the harder it’ll be to see the path.
This spot is fine. Don’t worry about anyone seeing you. I’ll stand guard. If anyone cos, I’ll block them..."
"But..."
"No buts. Holding it in for too long is bad for you. Just hurry up and go! I’ll keep an eye out..."
The young man cut his girlfriend off, then turned to face the way they ca, looking out of the forest.
"Alright, fine! But you have to keep a good watch for . If any strangers co by, you have to stop them," the young woman said.
"I know, I know! Just hurry up!" the young man said, completely exasperated. He was at a loss when it ca to his girlfriend’s indecisive nature.
The young woman could hear the impatience in her boyfriend’s voice, so she didn’t say anything more. She walked a few more steps forward and squatted down behind a clump of tall grass.
In the dim forest, many areas were impossible to see clearly. They were pitch-black, giving one the unnerving feeling that sothing was hiding within the shadows.
Just as the young woman was relieving herself behind the grass, a figure began to slowly approach her from nearby, but she remained completely oblivious.
Phew...
Feeling a sense of total relief, the young woman let out a long sigh and stood up.
Just as she was about to call out to her boyfriend, a distinct sound suddenly ca from behind her, and the words she was about to say caught in her throat.
She whipped her head around to look behind her. Instantly, an expression of pure terror filled her face.
"Aaaah...!"
When the young woman saw the creature behind her, her rosy complexion instantly turned deathly pale, and an ear-piercing scream escaped her lips.
Had she been out in the open, her shrill scream would have carried a long way. But here, the forest’s trees were too dense and lush; her scream was muffled and couldn’t travel far beyond the woods.
The only person who could hear her scream was her boyfriend, standing just a few yards away.
"What’s wrong?" Hearing the scream, the young man who had been standing guard turned to look at his girlfriend and asked.
"A Pig... a wild boar," the deathly pale young woman stamred to her boyfriend.
She was completely frozen, her eyes wide as she stared at the black wild boar only about thirty feet away.
The wild boar wasn’t particularly large, only about four feet long.
However, for a girl who had lived in a big city her whole life and had never seen a wild animal this close before...
...staring at the sharp tusks protruding from its mouth, it was a miracle she hadn’t collapsed in fear.
"Get over here! Don’t just stand there!" The young man now saw the wild boar in front of his girlfriend, and his face instantly turned just as pale.
But he was much braver than she was. After shouting once and seeing her still frozen to the spot, he imdiately ran toward her.
He grabbed his girlfriend’s wrist and pulled her into a run toward the edge of the forest.
The couple were just ordinary people, so of course they couldn’t tell whether the wild boar in front of them was a Mutant Beast.
Their first instinct was to treat it as a regular wild animal; the thought that it could be a Mutant Beast never crossed their minds.
In a way, this was for the best. If they knew the wild boar before them was a Mutant Beast, they might have lost the courage to even run.
After all, compared to ordinary wild animals, Mutant Beasts are far more ferocious. A regular wild boar that becos a Mutant Beast is at least twice as fierce.
"SNORT..." Seeing the two humans flee, the pitch-black Wild Boar Beast let out a grunt and imdiately gave chase.
Its running speed was much faster than that of an ordinary wild boar. It was also clever, taking a detour, clearly intending to get ahead and cut the two humans off.

In the dim forest, the poor light made it impossible to see the ground clearly.
In this overgrown environnt, the desperate couple didn’t get far before they were tripped by sothing they couldn’t see on the ground, and both went tumbling down.
"Are you okay?" With the wild boar hot on their heels, the young man scrambled up from the ground, asking with concern as he helped his girlfriend to her feet.
"I-I’m okay," the terrified girl replied, trembling so hard she could barely speak clearly.
"Don’t be scared. We’re almost out of the woods. Once we get out, there are so many people around. That wild boar won’t dare to chase us out or do anything to us..."
Seeing how terrified his girlfriend was, the young man offered words of comfort, even though he was just as scared himself.
"Okay." The comforted girl nodded, then she gripped her boyfriend’s hand tightly.
