He didn’t know who this “Alchemist Wan” the servant ntioned was, but judging by the tone, the person clearly wasn’t simple.
Though he felt indignant, the young man fell silent.
He knew his own status wasn’t particularly high.
Seeing this, the servant snorted arrogantly and turned to look for other herbs.
Xu Zimo chuckled lightly as he watched the servant walk away.
“Alchemist Wan… I wonder if it's the sa person I rember.”
...
To go from the first to the second floor of the Myriad Treasures Pavilion, one needed a silver token.
This token was only granted after spending a certain amount of spirit stones on the first floor.
After paying five hundred spirit stones, Xu Zimo followed the servant into the second floor of the Myriad Treasures Pavilion.
Once inside, the servant, clearly familiar with the place, walked straight to a counter.
He said to the attendant in front of him, “Give three stalks of Purple Heart Grass.”
“Wait, I’ll take all of this Purple Heart Grass,” Xu Zimo stepped forward and placed a hundred spirit stones on the counter.
The attendant looked at Xu Zimo with so hesitation.
“What are you doing?” the servant glared coldly at Xu Zimo. “I asked for these first.”
“What’s that got to do with ?” Xu Zimo replied calmly.
“You didn’t pay, so they don’t belong to you.”
“Kid, I suggest you back off,” the servant said coldly. “These herbs are for Alchemist Wan.”
“What kind of bullshit Alchemist Wan? I need this Purple Heart Grass today no matter what,” Xu Zimo said disdainfully. “If he's that important, tell him to co talk to .”
“Do you think soone like you can just see Alchemist Wan?” the servant sneered. “You must be new here. Never heard of Alchemist Wan’s na in Dragon City?”
While the two were arguing, Manager Long from earlier ca up from the first floor.
“What’s going on now?” he asked impatiently, frowning as he walked over.
The attendant quickly went over and explained the situation.
“This guest looks unfamiliar,” Manager Long looked at Xu Zimo and asked mildly.
“Doesn’t matter who I am. I’m getting that Purple Heart Grass today,” Xu Zimo replied indifferently.
“Sorry, but we can’t sell it to you,” Manager Long shook his head.
He said, “That herb was reserved in advance by Alchemist Wan.”
“Don’t care, didn’t ask. You got two choices,” Xu Zimo said calmly. “Either you give the Purple Heart Grass, or I tear this whole place down.”
Hearing this, the servant sneered.
Manager Long narrowed his eyes and said, “It’s been a long ti since anyone dared speak to the Dragon Clan like that. You’d better apologize and make satisfied. Otherwise, you’re not leaving this pavilion today.”
Xu Zimo didn’t reply. He just chuckled and raised his foot, then kicked Manager Long directly.
Spiritforce surged around him. The mont his foot touched Manager Long, the latter realized what was happening.
With a loud “boom,” waves of energy rippled from the impact.
Manager Long’s body was sent flying.
“How dare you cause trouble in the Myriad Treasures Pavilion!” Manager Long shouted angrily as he stood up.
Then he crushed the jade pendant at his waist.
The space in front of them rippled, and an old man tore through space and descended.
The old man wore a green robe, and both sides of his hair were white.
An Imperial ridian Realm aura surrounded him, and the back of his robe was embroidered with a dark green dragon.
“Pavilion Master Long,” Manager Long quickly greeted the elder.
“An intruder?” the old man’s eyes scanned the second floor, finally landing on Xu Zimo.
He couldn’t see through this young man at all.
“Soone is causing trouble,” Manager Long pointed at Xu Zimo.
“Who are you?” the old man asked Xu Zimo calmly.
Xu Zimo smiled and took out the token of the Holy Son of the True Martial Sacred Ground.
The old man’s expression changed the mont he saw the token.
He studied it carefully, then respectfully handed it back.
“So it’s the Holy Son of the Sacred Ground. Dragon City welcos you. If we failed to receive you properly, please forgive us,” the old man said quickly.
The fear left behind by the True Martial Sacred Ground was sothing the Dragon Clan still hadn’t forgotten.
Back when Grand Emperor Zhen Wu ushered in a new era, the Dragon Clan were made to serve as re half-beast slaves.
When the tide of that great era swept in, all resistance was aningless.
The Beast Race suffered heavy losses during that upheaval.
The Dragon Clan nearly went extinct.
It was only after barely surviving and many generations of developnt that they managed to rise again.
Hearing the old man’s words, both Manager Long and the servant were left speechless.
“The Holy Son of the True Martial Sacred Ground!”
It was sothing neither of them had ever imagined.
“My apologies, Holy Son. I failed to recognize you,” Manager Long quickly apologized.
“Pack up the Purple Heart Grass for ,” Xu Zimo turned to the servant.
Then said calmly, “Now, can you take to see Alchemist Wan?”
“But my master rarely ets guests,” the servant replied with so hesitation.
“That’s irrelevant. I’m eting him whether he likes it or not,” Xu Zimo answered.
The servant paused for a mont, then nodded reluctantly.
...
Leaving the Myriad Treasures Pavilion with the servant, Xu Zimo was led through a hidden alley.
Alchemist Wan was renowned in Dragon City.
Everyone in the city knew a great alchemist lived here.
But in truth, few had ever seen him.
As a master alchemist, many begged for him to refine pills.
But Alchemist Wan was extrely low-key. He rarely refined pills and was more interested in creating new pill formulas.
After winding through several turns, they finally stopped in front of a secluded courtyard.
Before even entering, the scent of pills had already wafted out.
The fragrance was thick. The servant took a deep breath and said, “Looks like Alchemist Wan is in a good mood today.”
The two of them pushed the door open and entered.
At the center of the courtyard stood more than ten alchemy furnaces.
Each one was wrapped in blazing flas.
Above the furnaces, several round and translucent pills floated.
At the center, a man in a gray robe, hair ssy and face dirty, stood.
He was controlling all of these furnaces.
One man managing over ten furnaces with ease, it looked completely effortless.
Xu Zimo and the servant’s arrival didn’t even seem to register.
It was as if, in the man’s eyes, only the furnaces and the pills existed.
