When it was ti to get off work, Feng Yonglin looked at Li Xiang, who seed to have nothing to do, and told him to leave first.

He wanted to help, but there really wasn’t anything he could do right now, so he just went with the flow and headed ho.

His mindset was great; he knew that being in the task force ant listening, observing, and learning a lot. He didn’t have any arrogant idea that he’d solve cases just because he had so "cheat codes."

Professional tasks should be entrusted to professionals.

Fighting, now that’s his forte.

Just as he was about to take a cab at the entrance of the police station, Li Xiang saw a red Panara pull up in front of him. The window rolled down to reveal Lin Feifei’s delicate face: "Off work? Get in."

"Is this your car?"

Li Xiang looked the car up and down; he had to admit, it was indeed beautiful and matched Lin Feifei’s vibe perfectly.

The most expensive car he had ever ridden in before was Sun Zhidong’s BMW, but compared to this one, the BMW suddenly seed less appealing.

"Co on, let’s grab dinner tonight!"

"Oh."

Li Xiang opened the door and sat in the passenger seat, which had a light scent of gardenia.

"Did you ask the unit to put in the task force today?"

Seeing Lin Feifei again, Li Xiang couldn’t help his curiosity and asked.

"Yes, I don’t trust the others."

"Do you trust that much?"

"Mm, because you trust too."

Lin Feifei tilted her head with a cute smile.

"Anyway, I have to thank you. This is an opportunity—an opportunity for to go permanent. Rest assured, I will clear your na."

Today’s clues, while not clear enough yet to prove that agent Wu Jie and He Qian’er conspired to murder Yue Zheng, at least pointed in a direction, bringing them one step closer to the truth.

"If you want to thank , make it real and treat to dinner. I’ve been waiting so long I’m starving."

"Okay, what do you want to eat?"

Li Xiang had an assignnt, and although he couldn’t reveal case details to Lin Feifei, he could ask her about Yue Zheng’s wife and his agent, potentially uncovering so insiders’ information.

"How about frogs? It’s been a while since I last had them."

They found a popular Frog Store.

"This place looks nice, pretty crowded; the food should be decent. Let’s go here."

"Okay."

As soon as they entered the store, Li Xiang heard soone calling his na. He turned around and saw Sun Zhidong dining with his girlfriend, Xiaoi, while waiting for their food to arrive.

"Sun Zhidong, you’re here too!"

"Damn, Xiang, when did you get a girlfriend?"

Sun Zhidong was like he’d discovered a new continent. Usually teasing Li Xiang for being single, this tactic seed obsolete now.

His girlfriend, Xiaoi, was so excited upon seeing Lin Feifei that she stood up in a hurry, practically pointing at her, exclaiming, "Lin..."

Quick as a whip, Li Xiang rushed forward to cover Xiaoi’s mouth.

The Frog Store was crowded; if Lin Feifei’s na got out, they would never finish their al today. After all, Lin Feifei had been trending recently, and almost everyone in the country knew her na.

"Hey, let go, Xiaoi is my girlfriend."

Sun Zhidong, clueless as ever, hadn’t realized Lin Feifei’s identity. Or maybe from his angle, Lin Feifei was just perfectly blocked by Li Xiang.

Seeing Li Xiang "laying hands" on his girlfriend, Sun Zhidong couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous.

"Fine, then you co over and cover her mouth, make her quiet down a bit."

"Why cover her mouth?"

Though he didn’t get why, Sun Zhidong earnestly prepared to cover his girlfriend’s mouth.

Xiaoi gave him an eye-roll and swatted his hand away.

By now, she had cald down and realized her actions were a bit off.

But she couldn’t contain her shock.

Who was Li Xiang?

A lowly auxiliary cop, no house, no car, monthly salary of just 2,800 yuan. Though she joked about setting him up, when push cos to shove, what girl would really go for him?

Yet today, Li Xiang was out dining with her idol singer. How could this not shock her?

"Those two concert tickets, you asked Li Xiang for them, right?"

Xiaoi finally figured it out. That day at the concert, when she noticed how amazing their seats were, she realized these weren’t just any tickets. It seed quite likely that Li Xiang had helped them get them.

"How did you know?"

Sun Zhidong asked instinctively; he had never ntioned the ticket source, maintaining an air of mystery.

"I’m not blind."

Sun Zhidong looked puzzled but at that mont saw Lin Feifei behind Li Xiang and suddenly understood: "What’s going on between you guys?"

Throughout, Lin Feifei watched them with a smile, presenting herself graciously. Hearing Xiaoi’s words, she finally understood that those two at the concert had co to see her performance.

She felt both disappointed and pleased.

Disappointed that the concert tickets she gave him, he didn’t attend and gave them to soone else. Pleased he still hadn’t found a girlfriend.

"Everyone, sit down, everyone’s watching; it’s not good for image purposes."

Li Xiang quickly got them to sit down before explaining: "Nothing much, Feifei doesn’t have many friends in Jinghai, so we just planned to grab a al together."

With Lin Feifei around, Xiaoi appeared overly excited: "Feifei, you’re my idol. I’m your biggest fan, Feibao. Rest assured, this ti, all of us Feibaos stand by you. We believe you."

"Thank you, with you saying that, I’m not as scared."

Lin Feifei smiled gently, maintaining her composure exceptionally well.

With outsiders present, she couldn’t brush off her celebrity persona, unlike when she freely ate hot pot the day before.

"Hey, when do you have a shift? I want to switch shifts with you. I’m thinking of visiting Xiaoi’s house on the third day."

Sun Zhidong needed to work on the third day, and now wanted to swap shifts with Li Xiang.

"Afraid not, Zhao called earlier, putting on the task force. Now, I’m working every day."

"Task force? Which task force?"

"What else is there, the Yue Zheng one."

"Damn, you’re like a phoenix landing atop a branch."

Sun Zhidong showed surprise; they agreed to laze around together, but there he was, catching thieves one minute, chasing fugitives the next, and now joining a task force. In ti, his epaulets were sure to change.

The group chatted over dinner, keeping the atmosphere lively.

Li Xiang and Sun Zhidong, the lively pair, cracked jokes and lifted the mood, delighting the two girls.

With Sun Zhidong and Xiaoi present, Li Xiang couldn’t conveniently inquire about Wu Jie and He Qian’er’s affairs, so he’d have to wait until the al was done to chat on the way back.
