The familiar warmth of the won’s shelter enveloped Lyse as she stepped through the front door. The air was filled with the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the gentle murmur of conversations. It was a stark contrast to the sterile environnt of the hospital and the cold emptiness of her apartnt.

A wave of relief washed over her. This was where she needed to be. Surrounded by the warmth and support of these won, she felt a sense of belonging, a sense of purpose that had been missing from her life for so long.

The mont she entered, a ripple of excitent spread through the room. The won, many of whom she had worked with before she left, rushed towards her, their faces lighting up with joy.

"Lyse!" they exclaid, their voices filled with warmth and affection.

She was enveloped in a flurry of hugs, the genuine warmth of their embrace a stark contrast to the coldness she had experienced from her own family. It was a welco change, a reminder that she was still loved, still valued.

"We missed you so much!" one of the won said, her eyes filled with tears of joy.

"We were so worried about you!" another added, her voice laced with concern.

Lyse smiled, her heart touched by their outpouring of affection. "I have missed you all too," she said, her voice sincere.

"But why are you here? Shouldn’t you still be on your honeymoon?" One of them asked with a mischievous smirk.

"Co on, Lyse can’t abandon us just because she got married. Don’t tease her." Another of the won scolded her.

"What am I supposed to think, she has not even co once to see us ever since she got married." The woman continued with a glimr in her eyes.

The won gathered around her, eager to hear about married life. They asked about her health, about.

Inevitably, the conversation had turned to Levi. Lyse had expected that.

"So, where is that handso husband of yours?" one of the won asked, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. "We haven’t seen him around lately."

Lyse hesitated, a wave of sadness washing over her. She was not ready to share the news of her separation, not yet. She didn’t want to burden these won, who were already dealing with their own struggles, with her personal problems.

"He is... busy," she said, her voice carefully neutral. "He has a lot of work commitnts at the mont."

The won nodded understandingly, accepting her explanation without question. Lyse breathed a sigh of relief. She had managed to avoid the topic for now.

When the furor settled and Vanessa was helping Lyse to her room, Lyse began to notice so changes in the shelter. The space looked brighter, more welcoming than she rembered. There was new furniture in the common area, a fresh coat of paint on the walls, and a brand-new play area filled with colorful toys for the children.

"Wow," Lyse exclaid, her eyes widening in surprise. "This place looks amazing! What happened? Did you get a new donor?"

Vanessa smiled widely, her face lighting up with pride.

"Yes!" She said. "A very generous one. He has been such a huge help."

"He completely renovated the place," she continued. "New furniture, new appliances, even a new security system. It feels like a completely different place, he asked what we need and just does what needs to be done."

Lyse was impressed. The changes were significant, transforming the shelter from a basic, functional space into a warm and welcoming haven.

"That is so wonderful," she said, her voice sincere. "This is going to make such a difference for the won and children here."

Vanessa nodded in agreent, her faces filled with gratitude.

"It has," she agreed. "We are all so grateful for his generosity, it has made the load of running this place lighter."

Lyse felt a warmth spread through her chest. It was heartening to see the positive impact of this generous donation. She had always believed in the importance of this shelter, and she was thrilled to see it thriving.

When they got to the room and started taking her things out of the box, Lyse turned around with a frown.

"I have not seen Janine since I ca, is she okay?" Lyse asked, guilt creeping over her voice.

Her life had been too chaotic and she had not checked on Janine, now she feared sothing might have happened to her.

"Actually, Janine Alvarez has gone ho." Vanessa explained.

The frown on Lyse’s brow deepened. "What do you an gone ho? How?"

"It’s all thanks to our new Donor." Vanessa said, "He got an immigration lawyer who helped her sort her issues."

Noticing Lyse’s crestfallen face, Vanessa took a step closer to her and spoke in an assuring tone. "Don’t you worry, he had promised that she will be back soon."

"Who is this new donor?" Lyse asked, curiosity in her eyes.

"Don’t worry, you are going to et him soon." Vanessa assured her with gleaming eyes.

"Now, hurry so we can go and join the won." She urged and turned to continue helping Lyse unpack.

As she spent the rest of the day at the shelter, helping out with various tasks and reconnecting with the won, Lyse felt a sense of peace she had not experienced in a long ti. The weight of her personal problems seed to lift slightly, replaced by a sense of purpose and connection.

She knew she still had a long and difficult road ahead of her, but for now, she had found a safe haven, a place where she could heal, rebuild, and find the strength to face whatever the future held.

The warmth and support of the won at the shelter, combined with the positive changes she had witnessed, gave her a flicker of hope, a small but significant reminder that even in the darkest of tis, there was still light to be found. It all inspired her, and she started thinking of what she wanted to do for her Golden Fleece competition.
