Irus was laughing maniacally. The Princes watched him as he held his stomach, uncontrollably laughing as he watched the giant mark on the mountain that his attack left.
"Irus," Death sighed. "Even your laugh is giving chills. And they said I was the evil one. anwhile you erased those people out of existence."
"He’s just the sa as before," Leviathan said. "The only person allowed inside the throne room apart from the Guards."
Irus shrugged. "I just feel free as before. A bigger portion of my power had returned although it’s not even half as before. But it’s alright like this."
Death shook his head with an amused grin. "Let’s go to the Purple Palace now. I saw that the Purple Knights have arranged a defensive plan."
"These beasts aren’t even sentient," Mammon said. "Are they capable of doing that?"
"They have locked the King inside the throne room and stationed Knights, Guards, Phantoms, and even Mages there," Death said. "This is going to be harder than I thought, but this will be nothing."
"How exactly did this realm amplify the powers they took from my siblings?" Irus asked. "I know that the six magic of my siblings are scattered across these Palaces, but I don’t know why you’d get so worked up with it?"
"It’s like there are two Forsaken Guards in each Palace," Death said. "One is worth from the number of their army and the other is worth of the King itself."
"That’s why the Kingsguard were so hard to fight," Saitan pointed out. "One of them is equal to one Deathly Prince or Sin already."
"What?" Death scrunched his eyebrows. "You fought the Kingsguard?"
"Before," Irus replied. "We had a hard ti fighting them because they could easily par our strength."
"Then the Palace is making them stronger," Death said. "Let’s go now before it would absorb more magic from the ground and make it even stronger."
As the demons flew out of Solaguer and to the direction of the Purple Palace, Frederick’s team was reunited with Elliot’s team. They greeted each other and the latter explained everything that Locraine told them.
"It would be more suitable for you to wear those, I agree," Frederick said. "Among us, your group has defeated more villains than any of us. You deserve to have those pendants."
"Alright," Elliot said. "But we can only wish for this want to be over quickly. We still have another one to finish."
"We can’t rush anything in this world," Locraine said. "Elliot, you have to go through the process and defeat Death with the help of Irus and the others."
"What if Death catches on to Irus?" Elliot asked. "He will kill them."
"He won’t," Locraine said. "He still thinks that Irus was the sa as before."
"The sa as before?" Elliot asked. "Madam Locraine, what do you an?"
"In the Abyss, Irus was known to be a scum," Locraine said. "He is the most vile among all of the demons and there are several demons whom hated him so much. His na alone was infamous that he was the one that stands between the Paragons attacking the Forsaken’s Den."
"The Paragons," Elliot whispered. "They’re scared of Irus?"
"So much that the Paragons begged for a treaty as long as Irus does not attack them," Locraine explained. "Nobody knew of that deal except them. The Paragons still have their pride, so they made sure that the Forsaken and the Guards, along with Irus, made it seem like the Paragons are formidable."
Elliot scrunched his face. "And why would the Forsaken agree to that? He can just attack the Paragons and then kill them without the deal."
"Because Irus, too, was afraid of his siblings’ safety," Locraine replied. "If he attacks, the Paragons swore that they would not go down alone. They said that they would take down at least one Sin with them. Irus did not want this to happen, that was why he accepte their offer."
"This is why Death believes that Irus wants to save his siblings," Isabelle suddenly said. "I have read a book or two about this and once the demon had died, there can never be turning back, even in cases like this."
"That’s because Death thinks that he could still trick Irus and the others," Locraine said. "His original plan is to take the energy and then harness it to repair the rift of space and ti in the Abyss and the Forsaken’s Den."
"He’s thinking that he’s tricking the demons when in fact, they know what was happening?" Elliot asked, to which Madam Locraine answered with a nod. "That’s wild."
"Death has very low perception. It’s a good thing that he was the one who was awakened instead of the others," Locraine said. "He’s currently the strongest Guard, but his mind is slow to catch up to things."
"You’re exploiting his stupidity," Frederick laughed. "I don’t even know if that’s funny or sad. Alright, what do we do now?"
"Wait for his signal," Locraine replied. "Once Irus tells us that it’s okay to go out of his realm, we can go out and fight. But until then, we have to stay here to be safe."
Madam Locraine was rather calm when she was sitting on her table and drinking her tea. She even offered them so, but they politely refused.
"Irus was really ruthless?" Elliot asked Locraine when the two of them were left to talk as the others engaged in their own conversations. "I don’t see him as such."
"He showed a mory of it before," Locraine said. "And he told that I should share this with you, the ti where he t Terrans in the palace."
"You have that mory?" Elliot asked rather excitedly. "Show ."
"Here," Locraine placed her hand on Elliot’s temple. "Take a look."
Elliot was shown the mory of Irus in the Forsaken’s Den. He thought that the Den was filled with filth and blood, but it was cleaner than he expected. It was like a castle but had a matte black color. Everything was clean and barren, but not dirty.
"Hey!" Irus called a human. "What’s your na and why are you here?!"
The man grinned, sothing that piqued Elliot’s interest. It was familiar to him sohow.
"Hello," the man bowed and introduced. "My na is Reginald, the handso cutie of Pentos."
