Kael’s gaze lingered on him for a while, as he noticed the stance of his. A grin appeared on his face, his hand travelled towards the blade as he caught it smoothly.
But the mont he caught it, a massive surge of aura swept across the room. The scattered remnants of the man’s lingering aura were blown away in an instant.
"Your stance is sloppy," he said calmly. "Why don’t you try it again?"
Kael let go of the sword’s blade, crossed his arms once again, and stood there casually.
The man’s gaze shifted towards his blade; he gritted his teeth and took a few steps back. Once again, he repeated the sa thing that he did earlier.
But this ti, Kael didn’t even bother to block the attack himself. His mana spread around him, swirling through the air before gathering in front of his body.
In an instant, a gigantic hand made entirely of mana materialized before him, effortlessly blocking the incoming strike. The attack crashed against it with trendous force, yet the mana hand didn’t move an inch.
"Again," Kael muttered, eyes locked onto the man.
Finally, the man’s morale had started to waver. Sweat started to cover his face entirely, grip on the sword loosened.
His gaze shifted to the ground as he remained standing in the sa position for a while. Silence fell inside the room, but he finally spoke. "I can’t win against you, whatever I do... the outco of it would be the sa." He lifted his gaze and looked directly at Kael before continuing, his voice firm. "But I won’t die before giving it my best."
Kael looked at him for a second before giving a slight nod in appreciation of the man’s spirit as a warrior.
"A warrior’s determination like yours is worthy of honor. For your final strike, I’ll take it seriously."
The man took a few steps back and grabbed the hilt with both his hands. He closed his eyes, allowing his aura to pass freely; it covered his blade entirely.
But it didn’t remain limited to the blade. The aura instantly spread throughout the man’s body, flowing through every limb. His eyes began to glow as a magnificent blue aura covered them, sharpening his vision and allowing him to see through his opponent’s movents with clarity.
"His aura is far greater than the strikes he perford earlier... so he decides to give his best for this strike."
A smile spread across Kael’s lips as his mana covered his hand entirely. A small portion of it flowed toward his palm, settling there before gradually taking the form of a sword.
The man dashed towards Kael, raised his sword in the air, and struck it down, aiming it towards Kael’s neck.
His sword was just about to reach its target when Kael’s blade intercepted it. Having already anticipated the man’s move, Kael blocked the strike with effortless precision.
But the man didn’t stop; he raised his leg and kicked right into Kael’s abdon. He jumped backwards, making quite a distance between them.
He dashed forward once more, this ti fully utilizing his speed. He sprinted across the room, circling Kael before slipping into his blind spot. The mont he reached Kael’s back, he lunged forward.
His grip on the sword shifted as he angled the tip toward Kael, aiming for a precise thrust.
But Kael reacted instantly. Turning around, his hand slid along the blade before redirecting it away from himself.
In the sa motion, Kael’s hand shot toward the man’s neck. He grabbed him without giving him a chance to react and slamd him onto the ground. The man’s sword slipped from his grasp and clattered onto the floor before him.
Without saying anything, Kael walked towards the man. His gaze lingered on him for a while, as he said. "Your instincts as a knight are impressive. You’re also quite proficient at adapting to unconventional tactics."
"I shall grant you a fitting end. You may die with your honor intact, as a true knight."
Kael lifted his hand, his blade radiating a powerful aura. With one clean strike, he brought it down upon the man’s neck.
The slash was so swift that the man’s head separated from his body before anyone could fathom the movent. Not even a single drop of blood touched the ground.
"You’ll die without feeling any pain; it’s the most befitting end for your spirit," Kael muttered.
The mont he said that, his gaze turned towards the high priest, who remained standing there performing the ritual that he had earlier.
A thought lingered inside Kael’s mind. "He doesn’t care that one of his n died? Or is he not in a sane situation to fathom what’s happening around him?"
He started walking closer towards the man, while walking, his eyes kept shifting from one child to another.
"These kids don’t seem to be unconscious. It’s sothing else."
A small sigh left through his mouth as he muttered. "Cursed beings."
He kept walking towards the priest, his steps remaining unhurried. But when he reached next to the priest, his eyes widened as a vein popped through his temple. "What?"
