As night fell, Gu Ren and Ye Zhi walked into the room.

Gu Ren walked to the window, raising his hands to close the curtain. When the curtains draped over the glass, it blocked the light outside.

Ye Zhi walked over to the bed and turned on a small lamp by the bed. The lights dimd and the surroundings darkened. Ye Zhi rembered that the bedside light was also turned on that day.

After Gu Ren and Ye Zhi replicated the scene, they laid side by side on the bed. Ti passed quietly, and soon, it was eleven o’clock in the evening.

They looked at each other and interlaced their fingers.

It was then eleven thirty in the evening.

Ye Zhi took a deep breath, “I’m a little nervous.”

Gu Ren held Ye Zhi’s hand tightly and said in a low voice, “No matter what, I’ll be by your side.”

One minute before the stroke of midnight, they placed their wedding rings together and clung to each other.

After a while, a ‘tick’ sound suddenly sounded in the air. The very soft sound broke the silence with such clarity, it felt like so form of foreshadowing.

Gu Ren and Ye Zhi looked at the clock on the wall. At this ti, the hour and minute hands pointed to the north, signalling the arrival of early morning.

They imdiately lowered their heads, staring intently at the wedding ring in their hands.

An incredible thing happened. At this ti, the diamonds on the wedding ring glowed, and amidst this dark night, the bright light beca even more obvious.

The light continued spreading like a fla that suddenly sparked alive, igniting the dark night.

Gu Ren and Ye Zhi raised their heads as they both saw surprisent in each other’s eyes.

Just as Ye Zhi wanted to speak, she realised that her head felt so drowsy to the point where she was so powerless that she couldn’t speak at all.

However, Ye Zhi smiled, because before she ca to this world, she also felt the sa grogginess.

Gu Ren felt the sa way as Ye Zhi. He closed his eyes, slowed his breathing and let himself sink into the silent darkness.

The light on the wedding rings continued to spread, making the fingers of the duo beco colder and paler.

As the light grew, the darkness dissipated.

At this mont, the dazzling light went out in an instant as darkness returned to the room.

Outside the window was the faint moonlight. The night wind entered and the curtains floated slightly. The moonlight shone and illuminated the corner that was in front of the bed.

The air was still silent as Gu Ren and Ye Zhi left.

While Ye Zhi and Gu Ren were in a coma, Nie Jiqing would co to Gu Ren’s house every day to see the couple.

In the end, the housekeeper directly helped Nie Jiqing arrange a guest room.

As long as Nie Jiqing missed Ye Zhi, she could imdiately go to see her in the room. In this way, Nie Jiqing’s anxiousness could beco a little more settled.

Not only Nie Jiqing, but also Senior Master Gu and Gu Ren’s parents ca diligently. They visited frequently, looking forward to the day when they would wake up, walk around the house full of their usual exuberant laughter.

Sheng Yu also kept coming to visit. If it weren’t for the fact that the company needed his services, he would have chosen to stay in Gu Ren’s house as well.

In the morning, Nie Jiqing opened her eyes. She wasn’t fully awake yet, but she subconsciously began to count the days.

The number of days that have passed since Ye Zhi and Gu Ren were in a coma. She counted again and it’s been exactly one week as of today.

Nie Jiqing sighed and got up again. After washing up, she didn’t even eat her breakfast before walking straight to Ye Zhi’s room.
