The next morning, before the roll call, you had entered General Li Zhengfeng’s commander’s tent. When you ca out, you and the Death Squad vanished from everyone’s sight. No one knew where you had gone, even the watchtower guards only saw a series of dark shadows rushing out of the camp, disappearing into the sandstorm between heaven and Earth.
The battle quickly erupted. The two armies collided once again, causing a deafening chaos with blood everywhere.
Just as the Tang Army began to show signs of defeat and the Qin Army surged forward to attack, an abnormal noise suddenly arose from behind the Qin lines. At that ti, atop the high ground behind the Qin forces, a handso man on horseback looked into the distance. About two thousand ters directly in front of him flew the commanding flag of Li Zhengfeng.
"General ng, this Li Zhengfeng is nothing impressive. Under your mighty command, the Tang Army is still being forced to retreat step by step. In just a few more months, the Tang Army will completely collapse, and then the splendid rivers and mountains of the Tang Empire will belong to our Great Qin!" A middle-aged general said to a handso man standing under the commander’s flag, laughing loudly.
The handso man, roughly the sa age as Li Zhengfeng, bore a dignified presence.
His face also bore a radiant smile, reflecting the recent series of victorious battles. Although the Qin Army had suffered significant losses, the casualties of the Tang Army were even higher, and their morale had been broken. As the deputy general by his side had said, it wouldn’t be long before the Tang Army completely disintegrated. By then, the Tang Empire would be like a woman stripped of her clothes, lying in bed, waiting to be ravaged by the Great Qin.
"I have had a divine connection with that Li Zhengfeng for a long ti and understand his military tactics very well, yet our Qin Army still suffers great losses. The Tang Army should not be underestimated either," the handso man said with a smile. However, at that mont, he suddenly felt an unnerving sensation. He imdiately furrowed his brows, his hand also covering his rapidly beating heart.
"General, what’s wrong?" The deputy general, seeing this, hurriedly supported the handso man with a worried expression. It was well known that this man was ng Yi, the son of the Great General ng Wu of the Qin Empire. At a young age, ng Yi had already beco a general of the Great Qin, with boundless prospects ahead.
"I don’t know why, but I suddenly felt a wave of panic," ng Yi looked up at the position where Li Zhengfeng was located, his expression growing even more somber.
Just then, a series of abnormal uproars ca from behind the Qin forces.
"What’s happening?" ng Yi turned to look, only to see about ten soldiers running up in a frantic hurry.
"General! It’s bad! There’s suddenly a very formidable Hundred-man Team that has appeared in our rear!"
"Nonsense, it’s just a small Hundred-man Team. Simply send troops to eliminate them. Such trivial matters shouldn’t even disturb the General!" the deputy general scolded loudly, but ng Yi raised his hand to stop him, asking in a deep voice, "Are they attacking our granary?"
"Yes, one-third of our granaries have been destroyed!"
"What about the granary guards?"
"They’re all dead! Two thousand granary guards are dead. Those were our Black Flag Army!" the soldier almost cried, referring to the Black Flag Army as a special combat unit of the Qin Army with two to three tis the fighting strength of regular Qin soldiers, known for their bravery, "And now, they are heading towards another of our granaries!"
anwhile, ng Yi noticed a change on the battlefield ahead. As he turned his head, he saw that the Tang Army was in full retreat!
"This isn’t good. It’s a trap!" ng Yi reacted imdiately, quickly issuing several orders to have the frontline Qin soldiers hold their positions, no longer needing to pursue the Tang Army; he also called the Archer Team, Long Spear Team, and Sword and Shield Team to head out and annihilate that formidable Hundred-man Team.
"Burn it, leave not a single grain of rice for the Qin Dogs!"
After burning one granary, you led the Death Squad again towards another granary. Early in the morning, you had found Li Zhengfeng and explained your purpose. Your strategy was simple, Li Zhengfeng would draw all of the Qin Army’s attention from the front, while you led the Death Squad to raid and burn their supplies from behind, and if possible, to pick off the Qin Army’s chief commander, ng Yi.
However, ng Yi was among the large army, so your Death Squad had no opportunity to assassinate him then; therefore, you charged directly towards the granary.
"Husband, the Qin Army has a large force coming our way, we’ll be surrounded in less than a quarter of an hour!"
With the elevation of her realm, Wu Zhao’s strength had also risen to a whole new level.
At that mont, she was like the Death God from Hell, releasing ten arrows in one go, with no one in the Qin Army able to escape her deadly attack, each hit was fatal, sparing no one.
Now Wu Zhao seed like a completely different person from usual. Normally, Wu Zhao was the epito of a gently charming and virtuous lady, but once on the battlefield, her sharp eyes could penetrate hearts, her ruthless deanor fully revealed.
"Shi Kai, you and Chang Zhi take care of this granary. Light it up and then pull back imdiately!"
"Yes!"
You grabbed Wu Zhao’s hand, and both of you with swift taps of your feet, shot towards the third granary. The distance of over five thousand ters was covered in just the ti it took to count on one’s fingers. However, having received the news earlier, the Qin Soldiers had already heavily guarded the last granary, forming a protective circle nearly a thousand ters wide.
"Zhao’er!" You and Wu Zhao understood each other’s intentions with just one eye contact. With that call, Wu Zhao nodded, her body suddenly soared high, slowly shrinking in midair until it turned into just a dot, before she began to descend.
Then, you suddenly roared, "Open Gate," "Resting Door," "Shangn," all three doors opened at once, your muscles bulged explosively. When you were less than fifty ters away from the Qin Army Sword and Shield Soldiers, you suddenly charged forward, plunging your right hand into the earth beneath your feet.
"Fire arrows!"
Imdiately, a rain of arrows enveloped you, unavoidable.
"Rise!"
Accompanied by your shout, the imnse Immovable Dragon Pole erupted from the ground. At that mont, the Immovable Dragon Pole was over a hundred ters long and had a diater of over thirty ters, a sight so daunting from afar. Yet, you lifted it effortlessly and swept it across the Qin Army Sword and Shield Soldiers before you, knocking them down like sweeping leaves in an autumn breeze, leaving them in total disarray.
"Zhao’er, it’s your turn now!"
After clearing a path through the Qin soldiers, you shouted loudly to the sky; then, you hurled the Immovable Dragon Pole toward the granary a kiloter away. Just then, Wu Zhao fell from the sky, her smaller figure steadying perfectly atop the Immovable Dragon Pole. At this point, you were surrounded by Qin Soldiers, but a cold smile appeared on your face and your body suddenly vanished, leaving a residual image as you broke through the encirclent, speeding towards where the Immovable Dragon Pole was about to land.
Turning to Wu Zhao, she stood on the Immovable Dragon Pole, having discarded her bow and arrow, and incredibly posed as if she were shooting an arrow from thin air. Under normal circumstances, soone would certainly mock Wu Zhao, but in that mont, absolutely no one would!
