"So now, how are you going to get out?"
Wei Yingyue sat on the floor beside you, looking at you with concern. Due to the surrounding darkness, she couldn’t clearly see your face, but amidst the darkness, she could see your eyes filled with determination.
"Move back a bit, give more space."
Wei Yingyue nodded, quickly struggling to stand up, and walked several ters away.
Seeing Wei Yingyue had moved away, you who were originally prone started to retract your legs slowly. "Boom!"
The concrete slab slamd heavily onto the ground, slightly changing the structure above. A large mass of fragnted debris rained down, turning the area where you and Wei Yingyue previously were into a wasteland.
After temporarily escaping danger, both of you sat down simultaneously. You found a small desk students used in class and two small stools, sitting face to face.
After a mont of silence, Wei Yingyue asked you, "What should we do next?"
The surroundings remained pitch black, trapped underground, with no idea of what it was like outside or what ti it was.
You touched your nose, speaking in a slightly low tone, "We can only rely on the people outside now, hoping they can be quicker."
Wei Yingyue remained silent, lying on the desk instead.
You stood up, searching for sothing around you. Wei Yingyue didn’t speak; she was sowhat lazy to open her mouth at this mont. She knew that if you found sothing, she would know imdiately, and if not, asking was aningless. For now, the best approach was to rest and conserve energy.
After so searching, you finally found a searchlight among the broken bricks and turned it on.
As the once dark world was illuminated by light, Wei Yingyue instinctively squinted her eyes, and once adapted, she saw you again searching for sothing in the corners.
Unable to resist curiosity, Wei Yingyue asked, "What are you looking for?"
"Water and food." Without turning back, you searched while speaking, "We have no idea how long it will take before they can dig through the rubble. The building structure might have been completely destroyed. We’re sowhat lucky; at least we have space for two rooms. Above us is likely a pile of debris and chaotic tal and concrete."
"I’ll help you find it."
Wei Yingyue intended to stand up, but you declined her offer: "No, you should sit there and rest. Your energy is heavily spent. You haven’t eaten since morning. Now, it’s unsuitable for you to be active; conserve your energy as much as you can."
"But aren’t you tired?"
Wei Yingyue knew that you had been running around for half a day. Earlier, you both went down to rescue people and didn’t have anything to eat. She worried you would be worn out.
You turned to look at Wei Yingyue, your voice still calm, but Wei Yingyue could hear a hint of care in it: "I’m fine. I’ve encountered much worse situations than this. Not just one day; even three consecutive days wouldn’t knock down."
At this point, you had searched every corner of the room fruitlessly, not even finding a single candy.
Fortunately, there was another room. Holding the searchlight, you entered the other room to continue searching.
Your departure plunged Wei Yingyue’s world into darkness once again.
Unlike before, despite you being in the next room searching for items, amidst seemingly endless darkness, Wei Yingyue felt a creeping fear and worry that you might not return.

"We’re rather lucky; these should be the midday snacks prepared for the children at the kindergarten." You placed the food on the table and directed the searchlight at the ceiling, illuminating the entire room.
