Chapter 400: Extraction
“Reporting to you live here at Daily News, I’m your host, Adam. Just this afternoon, the artificial intelligence developed by Omni Corp — God’s Blade officially connected to the North Arican law enforcent network. At the sa ti, the Robocop, EM-208, and ED-209 robots have also fully taken over the law enforcent agencies, but have triggered opposing demonstrations of an unprecedented scale...
“There have been multiple clashes between the protestors and Omni Corp in countless states all over the country. More than a hundred thousand people have been arrested so far. The arrests have only further escalated things and inspired larger protests and riots.
“There’s an underlying issue with politicians and capitalists of this country. Why should a law enforcent agency be ruled by a profit-motivated company? Why is a company allowed to freely formulate law enforcent rules and why are the police force reduced to re tools of these companies? Will there ever be justice and fairness in this country so long as this corporation is allowed to freely reign above the law?
“We have to address this issue, address... What?
“Oh d*mn, there’s been a recent developnt. The robots are now rebelling. They’re now massacring people on the streets. Oh my god, tens of thousands of people are dying, what is Omni Corp trying to do!
“Run, everyone! Hurry up!
“...”
A week later, Chen Chen sat beside the tunnel opened by the USB drive. He silently inspected the footage and other docunts brought back by the Black Knights from the other end of the tunnel.
“These are the footage we discovered that’s the closest to the ti of doomsday.”
Little X notified, “What we currently know is that — after Omni Corps’s developed artificial intelligence connected to the global law enforcent network, the robot started to rebel. So of them hypothesized that the cause is a bug stemming from the artificial intelligence thought process protocol. This makes it so that the robots see humanity as a whole as a cri and decides the right move is to destroy human civilization.”
“Sounds like the typical artificial intelligence thought process...”
Chen Chen nodded. “But I agree with this host nad Adam. If a corporation is allowed to ride above the law, will there ever be anything resembling true justice in the world? He made a good point.”
“This is an ongoing debate between the Namibians as well.”
Little X reminded. “Outside of the dia outlets that we have a stake in, several private dia outlets are publishing these opinion pieces. They claid that our Blacklight Biotechnology is riding above the law and dominated a majority of the country’s sectors which includes military affairs, airlines, electronics, and biopharmaceutical industries.”
“Don’t bother with these dia outlets. If they do sothing out of line, I’ll have the Namibian governnt take care of them. You only need to control the narrative among the people, that’s what you’re good at.”
Chen Chen remarked, “In that case, what about the technology obtained from the Robocop 2014 dinsion? Will it be able to help Jas Watson recover?
“We’ve acquired the technology. The brain restoration technology is very elaborate. It’s derived from a nano-level electrode technology that replaces the damaged area of the brain. Essentially, it’s an AI chip with a customized algorithm.”
A figure serving as visual-aid appeared on a holographic projection as Little X explained, “The chip is implanted into the defective area of the brain where hundreds of thousands of nano-scale electrodes connect to the brain’s nervous system. This chip then receives the brain’s nerve impulse signals to override control of the brain’s damaged region.
“However, there are three potential issues with reenacting this technology in the real world. The first is the nano-scale electrode and chip, these are extrely difficult to replicate in the real world.
“The second issue is the surgery itself. The practice of implanting a hundred thousand nano-scale electrodes into the brain greatly surpassed the average accuracy of human beings. This can only be done with specialized equipnt.
“Finally, there’s the issue of AI calculation. Depending on the damaged region of the brain, the AI will have to write customized programming sequences while also avoiding affecting the user’s ability to formulate thoughts. This will be the hardest condition to achieve in usual circumstances, but it will be a non-issue for .”
Little X explained, “Which ans that realistically, there are only two problems we need to address.
“The first problem will not be difficult to address. We can just directly extract the required chip from the movie.”
Chen Chen considered. “So what we need is the dical equipnt for implanting this chipset.”
“The problem is that it has been several centuries since the destruction of human civilization in the movie dinsion. The post-nuclear aftermath has mostly subsided. The city ruins are nearly completely erased by overgrown plants and weather conditions over the years. The only remnant of human civilization is the handful of military bases. It took the Black Knights an entire week to find sparse clues.”
Little X beca frustrated as she said this, “Forget about humans, even the rebelling robots have long since perished and rusted away.”
“That’s problematic.”
Chen Chen began to look for alternatives. “If we cannot find the appropriate technology for implanting the chip, then our only option is to design a specialized nano-scale surgical equipnt ourselves. X, will the manufacturing of this equipnt be feasible?”
“It’s worth a shot.”
Little X answered, “Not only that, do you rember the surgical robot developed by Neuralink? This machination is also known as a tailoring machine that has been developed to its third generation and is now capable of implanting micron electrodes. If I modify so parts and operate it myself, implantation of nano-scale electrodes will be possible.”
“In that case, get one of those as soon as possible. I’ll put you in charge of this.”
Chen Chen said confidently, “In that case, we have most of the preparations underway.”
As he said this, he closed the passage to the Robocop dinsion and deleted the movie. After that, he inserted another copy of Robocop and booted it up in the first mode of the USB drive.
After that, Chen Chen switched to the fra where the protagonist Alex was looking at his reflection in the mirror. Inside the fra, three chips the size of fingernails could be seen exposed in his skull.
Chen Chen gently poked his hand into the screen and picked up the three chips...
When Chen Chen retracted his hands, three chips appeared in his hand. Their surface was glossy like glass. Countless tiny probes could be spotted protruding from its rear, they seem almost unnoticeable...
“These nano-scale electrodes are usually invisible to the naked eye, but due to the sheer volu they beco slightly noticeable and achieve this unique visual effect.”
Little X comnted on the nature of the extracted chip. After that, a Black Knight approached Chen Chen with a container filled with disinfectant and handed it over.
Chen Chen placed the instantiated chips into the disinfectant solution. This was an effective way to prevent the electrodes from being damaged or contaminated.
Chen Chen decided three chips were not enough. After brief consideration, he deleted the movie before replacing it with yet another new copy from the desktop. He opened it again and extracted the sa chips again.
Chen Chen repeated this process until he had instantiated nine chips in total when he finally decided it was enough. He unplugged the USB drive and put it back into the charging room.
After that, Chen Chen left the Spire Experintal Base and called Felix.
Within a week, Felix had everything arranged and a private jet chartered to relocate Jas Watson to Namibia and into the central hospital of Eco Science City.
On the other end of things, Musk also delivered the surgical robots along with the blueprints. Since these surgical machines designed to implant electrodes were very similar to sewing machines, they were also known as tailor robots.
To follow up, Chen Chen had a large host of architects in the industrial park committed to the project and modified the surgical robot along with Little X.
