Chapter 432: Chapter 429 – Purple Mist and Shadow Wave

The thick purple mist engulfed them the instant they stepped through the glowing giant portal. The outside world, filled with the spirited shouts of adventurers, the clash of weapons, and victorious cheers, vanished completely in the blink of an eye. It was as if a door to another dinsional hell had slamd shut behind them, leaving only a suffocating, oppressive silence. The heavy dinsional pressure imdiately bore down on their shoulders and chests like thousands of kilograms of invisible weight, making their bones feel like they were about to shatter and their lungs struggle to expand.

The air inside felt thick, damp, and bone-chillingly cold. Breathing it was like trying to inhale icy water mixed with sharp ancient energy particles. Every breath left a rusty tal taste on the tongue and an irritating tickle in the throat. The stinging ozone scent mixed with a strange, sickly-sweet rotten aroma like honey fernted for thousands of years inside an ancient tomb, blended with decayed bone dust and blood that had dried since primordial tis. The purple mist was not ordinary fog; it moved as if alive, shifting slowly like the breath of a giant creature sleeping deeply in the darkness.

Hssssssss...

The sound of the shifting mist ca from all directions, as if whispering forbidden secrets that humans were never ant to know. Sotis the whispers sounded like cynical little laughs, other tis like endless groans of pain.

Sylvia landed gracefully on the slippery, cold stone surface, her knees slightly bent to absorb the impact. The mist was so dense that her visibility was limited to only three or four ters. The faint silhouettes of sharp rocks and scattered ancient ruins looked like broken bones of primordial giants. The ancient energy here crawled across her skin, making her hairs stand on end not from fear, but from a familiar sensation that reminded her of old battlefields she had once traversed.

Stacia. Alicia, she called through telepathy. Her voice remained cold, calm, and controlled as always, even though the situation had changed completely.

I’m here, Stacia replied quickly. Her voice was clear in Sylvia’s mind. About a hundred ters to your right. This mist is disrupting my vision and slightly interfering with my mana flow. I need to be more careful with my spells.

I’m separated too, Alicia added, her tone remaining light despite a hint of hidden tension. But not too far. I can sense both of your positions quite clearly. Let’s try to move closer slowly. Don’t use full power yet. We still need to maintain our disguise as ordinary Rank A adventurers.

Sylvia nodded slightly in her mind. She began walking carefully across the slippery stones covered in dark purple moss. Her right hand gripped the rapier hilt tightly, while her left hand was ready to draw the spare throwing knives hidden in her belt. Her true powers Chains of Abyss and Death Fla had to be suppressed deep inside. Releasing them now would be the sa as blowing their cover.

After just ten steps, the ground beneath her feet trembled faintly. The vibration grew stronger, rising to her calves, then her thighs.

GRRRRR...

A low, hoarse roar echoed from the depths of the mist, as if coming from hundreds of throats at once. Then another. And another. The roars multiplied, getting closer.

GRRRRR... GRRRRR... GRRRRAAAAHHH!

From behind the thick purple mist, black shadows began to erge. Wolf-like shadow creatures of large size, their bodies translucent with pulsing veins of darkness like living arteries, eyes glowing red like hellfire, and long claws made of pure darkness capable of cutting through steel. There were not dozens, but hundreds of them. They appeared from all directions like an endless tidal wave of darkness, greedily surrounding the area.

"Monsters!!! First wave!!!" a desperate adventurer scread in the distance. His cry was followed by panicked shouts, the violent clash of weapons, and brief but horrifying screams of pain as lives were taken in an instant.

Battles erupted everywhere simultaneously.

Sylvia drew her rapier with a sharp, cold SHIIING! The slender blade glead for a mont before the mist swallowed it again. She could no longer rely on her true strength. Now, she was rely a Rank A swordswoman depending on pure swordsmanship honed through years of endless battles.

The first shadow creature leaped toward her at high speed, claws slashing ferociously. Sylvia stepped forward gracefully, her athletic body spinning elegantly like a deadly dance. Her tight black tank top began to cling to her skin as cold sweat started to form. Her rapier slashed with lethal precision, severing the monster’s neck exactly at the vital point where the dark veins were thickest.

SCHLAAAKKK!

The black shadow exploded into thick, foul-slling purple smoke. But almost instantly, two more monsters replaced it from the sides. Sylvia dodged by a hair’s breadth; the claw that passed in front of her face left a bone-chilling gust of wind. She countered with a thrust, her rapier piercing the second monster’s chest accurately.

STAB!

The creature roared and retreated, but it wasn’t completely destroyed. Just seconds later, it attacked again alongside its companion, even more fiercely. There were too many of them. Every slash had to be perfect. There was no room for even the smallest mistake.

This is going to be a long test, Sylvia thought as she continued moving nimbly between attacks. Sweat began to soak her back and stomach, making the black tank top cling even more tightly to her tense, athletic curves. Her cropped jacket felt increasingly heavy and sticky.

On the other side, Stacia was also surrounded. Her sharp daggers spun rapidly in her hands like silver flashes. Her eight black wings could not be released. Her mass-destruction spells had to be held back. She relied only on her speed and the precision of her highly trained, agile movents.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Stacia danced between three shadow creatures, her daggers severing their dark tendons with surgical precision. Her gray jacket began to grow damp with sweat, her breathing slightly labored. Her long hair stuck to her forehead. This is so annoying, she muttered through telepathy, her voice irritated but still controlled. They regenerate too quickly if we don’t hit the vital points.

I’m fine, Alicia replied. But their numbers are insane. We need to regroup as quickly as possible.

Alicia, although also holding back her full power, still had the advantage as an all-rounder mage. Her simple wooden staff spun nimbly, releasing Fire Arrows and Wind Blades in rapid succession. Small explosions BOOM! BOOM! briefly illuminated the purple mist, destroying several shadow creatures at once and turning them into black dust. Her long silver hair swayed wildly with every spell she cast, and her white-silver tank top clung tightly to her voluptuous figure as her sweat flowed more heavily.

Sylvia slashed two monsters at once with one beautiful circular motion. SCHLICK! SCHLAAAKKK! Black smoke exploded in front of her, but almost imdiately five new monsters erged from the mist, their red eyes burning with hunger and bloodlust.

Sweat soaked Sylvia’s face. She quickly wiped it with the sleeve of her cropped jacket, which was already torn in several places. The rapier in her hand was becoming slippery from the thick black fluid of the exploded monsters. The fishy, rotten stench grew stronger.

GRRRRAAAAAHHH!!!

A larger shadow alpha monster with sharp curved horns and a body twice the size leaped from the thick mist toward her. Its claws slashed with terrifying speed. Sylvia dodged narrowly, but the claw still tore through her cropped jacket’s sleeve, leaving a long gash and a shallow cut on her smooth shoulder skin. A thin line of blood flowed warmly, but it stopped almost imdiately due to her powerful natural regeneration.

This is getting troubleso, she said through telepathy while countering with a fast thrust that stabbed the alpha’s eye. STAB! The creature roared in pain and retreated, but instead let out a loud roar that summoned even more of its kin.

In the distance, increasingly desperate human screams could be heard. "Help! There are too many of them!" Agonized cries, the thud of bodies falling onto stone, and death roars echoed faintly through the mist. The large expedition group’s formation had fallen into complete chaos. Several small teams had already been wiped out, their mbers becoming victims of this first wave.

Stacia was now surrounded by six monsters. Her daggers spun like a small storm, but her movents were beginning to slow due to pure physical fatigue. The muscles in her arms felt hot and heavy. Sylvia, I need a little help. There are too many here.

I’m trying to get closer, Sylvia replied as she faced three monsters at once. Her rapier moved like silver lightning in the thick mist. SHING! SHING! SHING! Every slash was followed by bursts of eye-stinging black smoke, but the enemies kept increasing endlessly.

Only Alicia remained relatively stable. She raised her staff high and released a mid-level Wind Storm. Fierce winds spun violently, temporarily blowing the purple mist aside and creating a fairly wide temporary corridor. The faint light from the spell explosions illuminated her sweating face and sharp, focused eyes.

Now! Alicia called out.

Sylvia and Stacia imdiately moved toward the corridor at full speed, leaping over rocks and the monsters that had turned into smoke. But the shadow creatures seed enraged by the interference. A new, even larger wave ca from all directions, their roars thundering GRRRRAAAAAHHHH!!! until the ground shook violently.

The battle grew increasingly intense and brutal. Sylvia slashed without pause, her breathing becoming ragged, the muscles in her arms burning as if on fire. Every swing of her rapier required more effort because the mist interfered with movent. Stacia fought fiercely beside her, her daggers spinning rapidly, occasionally throwing knives that returned to her hand with simple spells. Alicia continued to support them from dium range with a barrage of small Fireballs, Ice Spears, and Earth Spikes that erupted from the ground to impale the monsters from below.

This is a good test for us, Sylvia said through telepathy while thrusting forcefully into the heart of a shadow alpha. But we need to fully regroup soon. I don’t like fighting while separated like this. Our coordination is disrupted.

They continued advancing, fighting tirelessly in the middle of the increasingly dense purple mist. Sweat poured down their bodies. Sylvia’s tank top was completely soaked, highlighting the lines of her tense abdominal and chest muscles from her rapid breathing. Her cropped jacket was torn at the shoulders and waist, exposing her white skin and monster fluids. Stacia breathed more heavily, her gray jacket sticking to her agile, slender body. Alicia, though still strong, had her silver hair disheveled and her tank top clinging perfectly to her curvaceous figure.

Wave after wave of shadows ca without end. Roars, weapon clashes, spell explosions, and the increasingly sparse screams of other adventurers ford a symphony of death within this misty dinsion. The three sisters continued to fight, slowly drawing closer to one another, pushing the limits of their abilities while disguised as ordinary adventurers.
