Chapter 402: Chapter 398 – The Death Storm at the Transford River

GRRRROOOAAARRRR!!!

The rank 8 monster’s roar thundered like thousands of lightning bolts exploding at once, shaking the entire riverbank until the roots of the stunted trees trembled violently and dry leaves flew everywhere like black rain. The dinsional rift above the river widened savagely, its dark purple-black light blazing like an open wound from hell, spewing poisonous wind that stung the nose with the thick tallic stench of blood and sulfur. The once-clear river had completely vanished, replaced by a swirling vortex of thick black poisonous water that churned wildly. Every splash corroded the grass, stones, and even the air with a horrifying SPLASHHH SSSSSTTT!, leaving trails of rising black smoke.

Sylvia stood at the center of this storm of darkness. Her black cloak fluttered wildly like living wings of death. Her red eyes blazed brightly like two blood suns in the middle of the night. The fla in her chest that two nights ago had only been a small spark from the grilled fish bonfire had now transford into an unstoppable ocean of death. Every gust of wind carried the thick tallic scent of monster blood, making her lips curve into a thin, cold, hungry, and passionate smile she hadn’t felt in a long ti.

"This... is truly worthy," she murmured softly, her voice nearly swallowed by the roar, yet every word felt like an inescapable promise of death.

Noir growled ferociously GRRRRRRR ROOOAARRR! Its thirty-ter-long giant body leaped with terrifying power. Its jet-black scales glead under the flickering skill lights. Its undead fangs sank deep into the monster’s shoulder CRUNCHHH CRRRAAACKKK! Obsidian scales cracked and shattered, shards flying like broken black glass. But the rank 8 monster simply shook its head once SWOOSH BOOOOMMM!!! and the wind from its massive horns sent Noir flying like a rag doll. The zombie dragon’s body soared far and crashed into the ground with an earth-shaking THUDDD CRASHHH! The damp grass split apart, leaving a large smoking crater.

Stacia flipped the pages of her thick grimoire with hands trembling from adrenaline WHOOSH! "Chronospace Dominion – Temporal Acceleration Maximum!" A wider silver-purple wave of light exploded. The space around Sylvia, Noir, Sofia, and Alicia beca like leaping between seconds every movent felt light and fast as lightning. anwhile, the space around the monster turned into sticky, heavy dinsional mud. "Sylvia! Your movents are now five tis faster! I’m holding the rift for now, don’t let its shoulders co out fully or we’ll be overwheld!"

Alicia spun her silver staff with elegant yet deadly movents. Her transparent spirit body glowed even brighter, like bloodthirsty soul shadows. "Soul Eclipse Shackles – Overdrive Fracture!" Invisible soul chains shot out like ghostly snakes, wrapping and piercing straight into the monster’s spiritual core CRACK-CRACK-CRACK WHIIIRRRRR! The monster’s vitality and soul power were drained dozens of tis faster. Its giant body jerked stiffly as if its soul was being torn apart from within. The monster roared in agony KRRRAAAAAHHH GRRRROOOAAARRRR!!! This ti its voice mixed with a heart-wrenching soul scream, its movents slowing drastically like a puppet with cut strings.

Sofia flew higher. Her ten golden wings spread wide, illuminating the entire battlefield with blinding holy light. "I’ll protect all of you!" Her golden light collided with the monster’s dark aura ZIIINGGGG! KABOOOMMM!!! creating an explosion of light and darkness that shook the air and cracked the black defensive layers around the monster’s body like shattering glass.

Sylvia didn’t waste even a single second. UNIFICATION was still active, boosting all her stats by six hundred percent for the precious ninety seconds. Her body glowed with increasingly powerful and terrifying pitch-black light. She leaped using Death Step – Eternal Mirage! vanishing like a ghost and reappearing directly above the monster’s head. Reaper Claw! The absolute death claw slashed with overwhelming power SLASHHHH!! CRRRAAASHHH! BOOOOMMM!!! One of the giant horns cracked deeper, the fracture spreading like a black spiderweb CRACK! SNAPPP! CRASHHH! A tree-sized chunk of horn fell into the river SPLASHHH SSSSSTTT! creating a poisonous wave that sprayed high into the sky.

"Infectious Devour!" Sylvia’s entire body transford into a wider and more ferocious field of death infection. Thick black mist spread like invisible spiderwebs without needing physical contact, devouring both the monster’s soul and body at once SSSSSSSSSSTTTT!! HISSSSS! CRACKLE! The obsidian scales on its jaw, neck, and shoulders peeled off rapidly. The flesh beneath rotted black, lted, and evaporated into thick black smoke that rose into the sky.

The monster roared in even more horrifying agony KRRRAAAAAHH!! GRRRROOOAAARRRR!! BOOOOMMM!!! its voice shaking the back mountain of Nocturne until large boulders cracked and landslides occurred. Its massive shoulders that had begun erging from the rift pushed even harder KRRRRRRAAAKKK CRRRAAASHHH!!! The rift widened drastically, and now the monster’s chest started to beco visible. Its body was truly colossal, far larger than even the enlarged Noir. The blazing rank 8 energy began pulling other high-level monsters from different dinsions. Shadows of giant wyverns, small demon lords, and even rank 7 figures started slipping out from the rift’s cracks. Their wings flapped violently in the poisonous air.

Sylvia felt every second of this battle like a breath of life she had long lost. The fla in her chest burned brighter than when she had grilled Demon Wyrm at over the small bonfire two nights ago. The Death Spiral from the Eternal Formation chains spun faster WHIRRRRRRR! WHIRRRRRRR! WHIRRRRRRR! massively draining the monster’s HP and MP. Thick black blood sprayed everywhere SPLASH SSSSST CRACKLE! every drop instantly rotting the riverbank soil into poisonous black mud.

"Noir! Attack its shoulders!" Sylvia shouted, her voice cutting sharply through the roar.

The giant zombie dragon rose again with a roar full of rage GRRRROOOAAARRR! Its body was covered in gaping wounds, but its undead regeneration made it tireless. It leaped onto the monster’s erging back, claws and fangs attacking relentlessly CRUNCH CRUNCH SLASHHHH BOOOOMMM! Although each attack was like a mosquito bite to the rank 8 monster, Noir’s undead wounds refused to heal and continued spreading like an incurable plague.

Stacia kept flipping grimoire pages with adrenaline-shaking hands WHOOSH! "Chronospace Dominion – Temporal Compression Maximum!" The space-ti around the monster was compressed to the extre, making every movent feel like wading through thick frozen mud. "Sylvia! The rift is starting to destabilize! If its shoulders co out fully, the rank 8 energy will summon even more monsters!"

Alicia pushed her debuffs to the limit. Her transparent spirit body beca clearer and brighter. "Soul Eclipse Shackles – Soul Fracture Overdrive!" The soul chains pierced deeper into the monster’s core CRACKKK! CRACKKK! SCREEECHHH! cracking its giant soul and making the monster roar again with a heartbreaking soul scream.

Sofia lowered her wings, forming a large holy shield around the group SHIIINGGGG!! KABOOOMMM! protecting them from the poisonous geysers spraying from the monster’s mouth like hellish fountains. Her holy light also touched Noir’s wounds, slightly accelerating its undead regeneration.

Sylvia didn’t stop. She spun through the air, slashing again and again with Reaper Claw. Every cut left deep black gashes that could not be healed by the monster’s natural regeneration. Eclipse Rend followed, erasing layers of the monster’s existence. More small cracks appeared in the space around the giant head, as if reality itself was tearing apart.

But the rank 8 monster still refused to surrender. With one final roar that shook the sky GRRRROOOAAARRRR! KRRRAAAAAHHH!! BOOOOMMM!!! its massive shoulders and chest pushed out even further. The dinsional rift widened dramatically KRRRRRRAAAKKK! CRRRAAASHHH! BOOOOMMM!!! and from the gap, dozens of shadows of other high-level monsters began to erge, drawn by the rank 8 energy: giant wyverns with spiked wings, small demon lords with flaming horns, and even a rank 7 darkness wolf that imdiately leaped out and charged toward Sofia.

Sylvia took a slow breath, her red eyes still blazing with pure exhilaration. "Good... the more the better." She raised her Mortis Form claw once more. "Stacia, don’t close the rift completely. Let them all co out. Tonight... Nocturne will bathe in blood."

Stacia laughed breathlessly even as she panted, her grimoire still flipping rapidly. "You’re really crazy, Sylvia! But I like it! Chronospace Dominion – Maximum Acceleration!"

Alicia smiled faintly, her spirit body becoming more transparent from continuously pumping debuffs. "I will break all their souls one by one."

Sofia nodded firmly, her golden wings shining even brighter. "I’m here, Sylvia. Always."

Noir growled with satisfaction GRRRRRROOOAARRR! despite its body being covered in gaping wounds, ready to leap back into the storm.

Sylvia stepped forward once more into the increasingly chaotic center of battle. Her black cloak was soaked in monster blood, but her pale face looked more alive than ever before. The once-clear river that had been the site of their small bonfire and grilled fish was now a battlefield she herself had invited and she was enjoying every single second of it.

Phantom Bloom blood throughout the space around the main monster and the newly arriving ones. Pitch-black flowers sucked souls from within, making the giant wyverns that had just erged roar in pain before falling into the poisonous river with SPLASHHH CRACKLE!

Sylvia activated the next stage of her Original Skill: CHAIN TECHNIQUE – ETERNAL FORMATION. Pitch-black chains spread even wider, forming a web of death that connected all enemies within a hundred-ter radius. Every monster touched by the chains felt its vitality being drained into Sylvia’s body, giving her additional strength that made her Reaper Claw even sharper.

Attack after attack continued without pause. Noir bit the neck of an approaching wyvern and tore its wings off. Stacia hurled Temporal Compression at a group of small demon lords, making them move as slow as puppets trapped in ice. Alicia bound the rank 7 darkness wolf’s soul with increasingly thick soul chains, forcing it to collapse with a heartbreaking scream. Sofia fired continuous holy beams, clearing the area around the rift so the smaller monsters wouldn’t overwhelm them.

Sylvia herself stayed at the front line. She moved like a shadow of death appearing, slashing, vanishing, then appearing again. Every Death Step brought her to the rank 8 monster’s weak points. Infectious Devour continued spreading, turning large parts of the monster’s shoulders into rotting, lting flesh. Black blood sprayed like hellish fountains, soaking her cloak, but she didn’t care. Queen’s Flesh regeneration worked nonstop, closing every minor wound in an instant.

The battle grew more intense. The once-clear river had beco a churning sea of black blood and poison. The bonfire had completely disappeared. Only the light from their skills illuminated the increasingly thick and oppressive darkness of Nocturne. The rank 8 monster’s roars, Noir’s growls, Stacia’s shouts, and Sofia’s light explosions blended into a terrifying yet beautiful symphony of chaos in Sylvia’s ears.

But the night was still long. The rift kept widening. More shadows of high-level monsters slipped through. Sylvia raised her claw high, her red eyes blazing brighter than ever.

"Co," she said softly, her voice filled with an inescapable promise of death. "All of you."

GRRRROOOAAARRRR!!!

The rank 8 monster’s roar echoed once more fiercer, hungrier as if calling the entire dinsion to co and fight together.
