Chapter 346: 345. Want to touch now_1

On the Island.

The pirates, having their ship stolen, fell into terror.

Not only could that man control a terrifyingly fearso beast, but he could also make the ship move on its own.

Had he mastered extraordinary powers?

Those pirates were powerless to confront him and could only look for other ways.

The big ship was gone, but there were still small boats, and the Island still had trees, which were completely sufficient to build anew.

The remaining people, after half a day of muddled confusion, gradually found their purpose.

They got busy.

Until, a figure arrived at the edge of the village.

That person was wrapped in a multitude of bandages, with only one red eye visible, emitting a faint glow.

Upon seeing this person, the pirates shivered subconsciously.

If the earlier Lu Ban was a terrifying person, then this fellow could only be described as a terrifying monster.

“I can sll her scent, have you seen a woman before, dressed in red and white clothes, about this tall?”

Lei Ting from the Foreign Domain inquired.

“They stole our ship!”

One of the pirates imdiately cried out.

“They? Who else?”

Lei Ting realized there was a problem.

“There’s another man, he had a monster with him, that monster was like a dog, only…only much more terrifying!!”

Another pirate said imdiately.

Judging from the words and actions of this Bandaged Person, it seed he held a grudge against those who had stolen the pirates’ ship; the enemy of an enemy is a friend, they needed to get on good terms with this guy.

“It seems to be the Chosen by Gods… A monster like a dog, not sure what creature, perhaps it was that thing that sank our ship…”

Lei Ting always prepared and planned ahead; after his teammate Flash got killed due to his rashness, he even more appreciated the importance of being steady.

If he had not been prepared, he would probably have been devoured by the shadow in the sea, just like the other sailors.

“We can help, he took our ship, and we want revenge!”

A pirate shouted.

“You can help?”

Lei Ting laughed.

“Well, thank you for that.”

No sooner had he spoken than his bandages unraveled, revealing an almost black, mist-like body beneath.

The mist spread rapidly, enveloping a pirate in no ti.

Before the pirate could even cry for help, he withered rapidly, ending up like a mummy that had been left out for years.

As the mist spread, screams echoed, and before long, not a single pirate was left alive on the Island.

Lei Ting reverted to his original form, the bandages winding back around his body, only this ti, his physique was even more robust, as if he had consud a large amount of nutrients.

“They’re moving fast; I need to find a way to catch up.”

Finding a small boat used for shallow water transit, Lei Ting got on board, so of his bandages unwound, and the mist ford oars, propelling the boat at high speed.

As he moved forward, Lei Ting took out a coin from his bandages.

Tossing the coin, he checked the face that landed in his hand.

“Lucky.”

He smiled.

“According to the sea chart, we should be approaching Changfeng Island ahead, which ans we are getting close to Qiushan Island.”

Under the moonlight, Lu Ban looked at the sea chart, estimated the distance they had moved with a pen, and felt pleased.

Yet Amber seed sowhat worried and preoccupied.

In recent days, she often gazed out at the ocean, lost in a kind of lancholy that made others around her feel disconsolate.

“Shouldn’t you be happy, you’re about to see the others soon, at least you can have a proper bath at the port, and sleep on a solid bed.”

Lu Ban suggested.

For a girl, going without a bath was difficult to bear, and bathing in seawater only made the body stickier and dirtier, so Amber had only bathed once in fresh water these days.

As for Lu Ban, he had herbs for cleaning, so it was not a big problem for him.

“Yes.”

Amber nodded but there was a flicker in her eyes.

“Do you think, I really should beco the Chief Priestess?”

She asked, her question seeming more directed at herself than at Lu Ban.

“These days, although life has been hard, it feels relaxing, without burdens, better than the tis of training. This kind of life actually seems nicer.”

It was like a studious student, who had always been told by parents to focus solely on exams and studies and nothing else, suddenly got a long break, no need to study, just ti to play, eat and sleep. To Amber, life at sea was completely different from before, it was liberating.

“These past few days, I’ve been thinking about this, we don’t have to go to Harmony Island, we can go sowhere else, anywhere. Find a small island, build a couple of houses, fish a bit, raise so animals, and just live out our lives that way.”

She said this and then suddenly realized what she had said, hastily correcting herself.

“I don’t an that, I don’t want to spend a lifeti with you…”

“I know.”

“No, that’s not to say it’s not possible…”

“Hmm.”

“Sigh, anyway… I don’t want to be a shrine maiden anymore.”

Amber gave up on explaining.

Lu Ban, however, understood Amber’s feelings very well.

To put it simply, she just wanted to escape.

This really had nothing to do with Lu Ban, it was just that Amber, who had always been so tense, now had an excuse to relax, to breathe, to not strive anymore.

For the past decade or so, Amber had always been instilled with the ideal of becoming the Chief Priestess to save the world, and it was hard to say if these ideals were genuinely hers since she had never had a choice in the matter.

Now that she had a choice, having tasted a world of freedom, Amber felt that the duty of saving the world was far too burdenso.

Indeed, how could you possibly convince a teenage girl that she is the hope of the world, that the world couldn’t do without her, that she must give up her future freedom to sit in the Great Shrine of Harmony Island shooting arrows every day?

Qin Tiantian, who had a figure similar to Amber’s, live-stread video gas every day, slacking off, living a carefree and happy life, so why should Amber be caged and bound?

Lu Ban himself couldn’t quite understand it either.

However, his mission was to escort Amber to beco the Chief Priestess, so if Amber backed out now, the mission would be incomplete.

“How about this, let’s go to Changfeng Island first, don’t reveal your identity, we stay there for two days, experience the life of ordinary people, and then make a decision, what do you say?”

Lu Ban decided to sort it out after landing.

“Hmm.”

Amber nodded, her indecision evident.

Although Lu Ban could tell her with greater power cos greater responsibility, in the end, this was just an idea imposed on her by others.

Watching Amber walk away, Lu Ban exhaled.

He hadn’t expected to have to help a teenage girl plan her future career.

Looking at the beautiful moonlight, a thought suddenly flashed through Lu Ban’s mind.

He reviewed the mission.

[Mission Requirent: Escort the Shrine Maiden to the Great Shrine of Harmony Island]

[Mission Requirent: Witness the birth of the new Chief Priestess]

In here… it doesn’t seem to specify that it has to be Amber?
