Chapter 920: Chapter 921: A Cry of Wuhu, The Whole Place Takes Off

Li Xiaobai and Hu izi found a spot slightly closer to the center of the mountain top and sat down cross-legged.

Thunder Peak had been reprocessed and refurbished, with the entire mountain polished to smoothness, and every ten ters, a huge step three to four ters wide was carved out for cultivators to sit on, thereby multiplying the number of cultivators the peak could accommodate several tis over.

In the center of the mountaintop was a large circular platform with a spatial vortex floating above, containing a microcosm within.

At this mont, the passage was already open, yet Master Wuhu had not made an appearance. Li Xiaobai looked around, and what he saw was a sight of cultivators utterly entranced, their eyes glazed and expressions intoxicated—obviously, they had just descended from the Transmigration Ladder and were yet to adapt to the overwhelming effects of the Power of Faith.

“Look, your senior brother should be here. With such a grand occasion, I’m sure he wouldn’t miss it easily!”

Li Xiaobai said to Hu izi.

“There are too many cultivators here; it’s hard to even walk. How could I see my senior brother?”

Hu izi craned her neck and looked around but to no avail. Heads crowded everywhere, making it impossible to distinguish anyone.

“Could he have already been converted?” Li Xiaobai suddenly thought.

“No way, my senior brother is very strong!” Hu izi dismissed the idea with confidence in her senior brother.

“Dang!”

A bell chi rang out over the mountain top, deep and lodious, carrying with it an ancient air that quenched all impure thoughts in the heart.

“Silence!”

A senior monk appeared atop the mountain seemingly out of nowhere, his shout reverberating in the ears of the cultivators, a testant to his formidable power.

“Amitabha, this old monk Juejuezi greets the benefactors. I thank you all for honoring us with your presence today to discuss the Buddhist scriptures with Master Wuhu. In today’s lecture, there shall be no taboos. The benefactors can speak freely and express what is in their minds. Master Wuhu will resolve everyone’s doubts one by one!”

The elder monk spoke slowly, his voice not loud, yet it clearly reached the ears of every cultivator present.

“Excellent!”

“Many thanks, Master, for enlightening us!”

“We are sincere in seeking teaching!”

The cultivators imdiately returned the gesture, speaking with reverence and piety. Most of those present had been converted, their thinking shifted to that of the Buddhist Sect, and with a master about to begin a lecture, their hearts were filled only with gratitude and admiration.

As for the few who remained lucid, they were rely waiting to see what the Buddhist master looked like for themselves, rely to gain so insight.

Li Xiaobai followed suit with the crowd in paying respects. He recognized this monk as the old monk he had t on the Transmigration Ladder earlier, nad Juejuez,i who must hold a high position in the Great Thunderclap Temple given his ability to climb to such heights.

“Amitabha, then this old monk will not delay the benefactors’ ti any further. Please welco Master Wuhu to open the lecture on Buddhist Law!”

Juejuezi brought his hands together in prayer, uttered a Buddhist chant, and turned to sit cross-legged on a cushion to the side, waiting for Master Wuhu to arrive.

Everyone held their breath, their eyes unblinkingly fixed on the vortex passage.

“Thump, thump, thump!”

Footsteps sounded, dense and successive, and then a figure erged from the vortex passage, draped in a kasaya of red and yellow, his whole body gleaming with golden light—yet, this figure was unusually short, and to everyone’s surprise, it had four feet on the ground and was completely covered in fur. Could this be a dog?

This dog was pure white, strolling forward with a feline grace, its mouth curved in a smug smile almost reaching its ears, exuding an undeniable sense of anthropomorphic triumph.

Li Xiaobai stared at the little white dog clad in a kasaya, utterly dumbfounded. Wasn’t this damn creature Ergouzi?

Since when had he transford into Master Wuhu of the Buddhist Sect?

Earlier, Ergouzi had sneaked off, but who would have thought he would actually slip into the Western Continent and even beco a master?

At this mont, his heart felt as if ten thousand alpacas were stampeding through it. Thousands of cultivators present just to heed the master’s teachings, and to cap it off, out cos a dog? What the hell was that all about?

Moreover, this dog was of the highly unreliable sort.

However, with the enlightennt of the Transmigration Ladder, most cultivators didn’t react too extrely. Only a few who kept their wits about them ignited a stir, obviously feeling screwed up inside when they realized the master expounding the Buddhist Law was actually a dog. They felt as though their intelligence was being rubbed in the dirt.

“What’s going on, why did a dog co out?”

“Who is that dog? I’ve never heard of it before. Does the Buddhist Sect now have a Divine Beast?”

“That can’t be right. There has never been a precedent of the Buddhist Sect taking in a Demonic Beast. Where did this dog co from?”

“I rather think this dog isn’t Master Wuhu. The real Master Wuhu should still be in that minor world and hasn’t co out.”

The few clear-headed cultivators discussed Ergouzi’s origins amidst various speculations.

But what happened next shattered their fantasies completely. The dog on the stage suddenly stood upright, smoothly and adeptly lit a Huazi, took it into its mouth, and took a light puff before saying indifferently, “Amitabha! Life is like a dream, an illusion, like dew, and like lightning!”

“Swoosh!”

Golden light twinkled in the void as the rit Value appeared above its head.

“rit Value: 500,000!”

The string of golden numbers assaulted everyone’s eyes—500,000, a whole 500,000 rit Value! How many years of reciting scripture and what kind of great deeds would one need to accumulate to reach such a level?

This was a genuine major rit and not sothing achievable through re chanting. At the least, it must have been due to actions similar to saving a city; otherwise, there was no way such an amount of rit could have been amassed.

To know, even several of the esteed masters at Great Thunderclap Temple barely accumulated tens to hundreds of millions. This dog had nearly matched, or even surpassed them.

“It’s a high monk of great virtue!”

“Amitabha, thank you, master, for the enlightennt!”

The believers’ eyes were filled with fervor and piety. No explanation necessary — 500,000 rit Value was more convincing than anything else. This was a true master of the Buddhist Sect, regardless of it being man or beast.

“500,000 rit Value, am I seeing things?”

“With such rit Value, indeed worthy to preach the Buddhist Law to us. No wonder he has beco a high monk of the Buddhist Sect. It seems the sect has been discarding many trivial formalities lately, becoming more enlightened!”

“How did it cultivate, though? How can it possess such an extent of rit?”

The cultivators were hit by a surge of shock, even more astonished than when they first discovered that Master Wuhu was a dog — a dog with 500,000 Sin Value? This damn thing needed to be worshipped!

On the high platform.

Ergouzi ignored everyone’s reactions, took a few puffs until the cigarette was but a stub, then crushed it out. With aloof and disdainful eyes and pulling his voice into a throaty squawk, he bellowed, “Wuhu!”

Atop the mountains, tens of thousands of cultivators, almost simultaneously put their hands together, and with wide eyes, they bellowed just as angrily, “Take off!”
