Chapter 234: Chapter 221: One of the Four Fundantal Forces—Electromagnetic Force! (Please Subscribe)

After pondering for a mont, Lynn looked towards the boatman and spoke again.

“What about the dispute within the royal family? Have you found anything out about that?”

The boatman dared not hide anything, recounting all the information he had gathered in recent days.

“King Basel’s two sons are nad Harold and Hattar. Not long ago, during the King’s birthday celebration, Harro presented a life-sized glass mirror and finished glass artifacts we made, overshadowing the event and garnering the fervent support of nurous nobles…

There are rumors that the Grand Prince Harro also offered another round mirror to Cardinal Losak.

Now, the entire kingdom is abuzz with talk that Harro has gained the Church’s support and will soon be established as the heir to the throne…”

Though their ti in the Kingdom of Hadlata was brief, through the convenience of selling glassware, they had already ford connections with so nobility.

This news was widely circulated within noble circles and was no secret, hence they had a very detailed account.

Lynn listened to this gossip about the royal conflict as if it were nothing serious.

Lynn was quite surprised by William’s choice to back Harro, and from the information Laud and others had gathered, it appeared that William’s decision was not a sudden whim but that he had taken sides since the dispute over the heir’s selection began.

But wasn’t the Grand Prince inclined towards the Church?

Lynn was montarily startled but then quickly ca to an understanding.

William had indeed been smuggling supplies for Helram in the past, and in order to conceal his identity, he needed a cover; cozying up to Harro was no doubt a smart move as it not only reduced the suspicion on him but also provided nurous conveniences.

Of course, that was before. Now, William’s restless attitude has turned this into a new problem.

“Additionally, we’ve also heard so news about Wizards in the capital…” the boatman cautiously reported.

“Go on,” Lynn nodded, not at all surprised by this developnt.

Despite the ongoing pursuit and suppression of Wizards by the Church within the Sekas Empire, there will always be those in the world who seek power.

So Wizards with exceptional talent can even cast so of the most basic spells without the need for study.

So no matter how the Church hunted them down, the community of Wizards would always exist, only more secretly than before.

“Just last month, the Church discovered three Wizards in the capital. The aftermath of the battle between them destroyed several houses and there are rumors in the neighborhood that those Wizards seed to be able to wield the power of lightning…” the boatman spilled everything he knew.

“Oh? Are you sure?” Lynn suddenly beca interested.

Ever since replicating the electromagnetic cannon with the “True Mirror”, Lynn had been very interested in utilizing Lightning Magic and had made a number of attempts.

After all, electromagnetic force is one of the four fundantal forces, present in everything, and holds an extrely terrifying amount of power.

But with his current level of perception, he couldn’t detect the existence of electric charge, let alone control an electric current.

Lynn had thought it was perhaps due to his own insufficiency, or maybe only a great Mage with the ability to decompose and create tal elents was qualified to delve into this domain.

It seems that it’s not the case after all; there are wizards within the kingdom capable of summoning lightning, which undoubtedly overturns his previous conclusion.

Lynn did not believe that the captured one was any grand wizard, for otherwise, during the battle, it would not just be a few civilian houses that were destroyed, but likely half of the capital would be in ruins.

When Lynn asked about it, the boatman hesitated to answer, because all this information was gathered by them through spying, and none had personally witnessed those wizards using lightning magic.

Seeing he could not get much information, Lynn did not make it difficult for the other party. With a wave of his hand, he let the boatman leave, but then his expression suddenly froze— the ring he left with Laud had been activated!

Three minutes earlier, in the Kingdom of Hattar, within a remote street.

Laud, who had disguised himself, was walking with a limp and a cane down a narrow alleyway, casting glances at the round mirror in the palm of his hand, using its reflection to observe the scene behind him.

He had been followed for two whole days, but Laud could not confirm who was tracking him. It might have been from the Church, or it could be one of William’s ploys.

Laud was aware this could not continue, as tomorrow was the day to transport the ores back to Yeyeta. To ensure nothing went wrong, he had to deal with this tail first.

Thinking of this, Laud’s face took on a more sinister hue. He had scouted this area beforehand; usually, no one would co here, but he had to make it quick to avoid attracting the city guards!

As he thought this, a high wall already stood in front of him—clearly, this was a dead-end.

Laud imdiately discarded his disguise; his leg was no longer limping, and he ceased leaning on his cane. Taking advantage of his pursuer’s delayed reaction, he sprinted forward and with a high jump, his hands grabbed the protrusions on the wall and deftly flipped over it.

The entire set of movents was flawlessly executed, more adept than even a fully able-bodied person could manage such an elegant climb.

Laud’s tracker, Mage Abel, was stunned and took a mont too long to cast a spell, helplessly watching as the limping man disappeared before his very eyes.

“Damn it, it’s a trap…”

The next second, Abel ca to his senses and his face drastically changed. It was obvious that the other’s injured leg was deliberately feigned to lure him into the alleyway.

However, by the ti he realized this, a sense of alarm had already risen in his heart, and then the solid earth wall at his side burst open. Abel only had ti to turn his head before he saw a ferocious beast claw swinging towards him.

Mage Shield

Almost instinctively, a magic barrier shimred to life around Abel, and then he was sent flying, tumbling several tis before crashing heavily against a wall…

Fortunately, the Mage Shield absorbed most of the impact, and despite the fine cracks that appeared on it, Abel barely had ti to sigh in relief before he saw a half-lion, half-human creature rushing towards him.

A magical beast? Or a shaping wizard?

No, it could also be a bloodline knight…

Abel could not afford to think further. With his hand on the ground, he cast a second-level spell—Spiky Barrier.

Unending magic power flowed into the smooth ground, and just as the half-lion, half-human creature reached within two ters of him, Abel’s eyes hardened. Countless sharp spikes suddenly erupted from the earth, piercing through the creature’s body…
