When Zayne heard that, his whole body jolted.

"Incredible."

Zayne raised his thumb at Double J without hesitation, genuine admiration written all over his face.

He had thought that Double J peaking as a Womanizer by targeting the wife of the Old Shipyard Port Investigation Bureau’s deputy director was already the limit.

Turns out he had underestimated him.

Double J was even more fearless than Zayne imagined, bold enough to set his sights on Astrachior’s wife.

Such courage. Whose subordinate was this?

That was Astrachior, the man who calculated everything without fail.

Going after his wife was like turning on a light in a restroom just to look for death.

"Don’t remind . Back then I was young and arrogant. I thought no one could catch with my speed. I heard Astrachior’s wife was a peerless beauty, and I couldn’t help myself."

"I climbed over the wall into his courtyard, and before I even saw what his wife looked like, I was already pinned to the ground."

Double J let out a gloomy sigh, clearly full of regret.

"Astrachior was kind enough not to kill . He said as long as I worked for him for thirty years, he would let live. He also promised not to interfere with my normal life during that ti. Thinking about it now, I was lucky it was Astrachior. If I had ssed with anyone else, I would have been a corpse a long ti ago."

Zayne fell silent.

He gave Double J a strange look.

This was a textbook case of soone being sold and still helping count the money.

With Astrachior’s strength, he had probably foreseen Double J coming long ago. The rumor about his wife being stunningly beautiful might have been deliberately released by Astrachior himself. Even that indenture contract was likely prepared in advance.

Zayne said nothing. He quietly took the indenture contract from Double J and signed his na in the employer slot.

A free worker was still a free worker. And Double J’s speed was truly terrifying. He would be extrely useful in certain situations.

The mont the contract was signed, Zayne felt an invisible connection form between himself and Double J. If he focused, he could even sense Double J’s current condition.

"Sigh. What a miserable life. Still have to work another twenty years."

Double J sighed endlessly.

"Then how about we tear up the contract and go back to how things were, and I castrate you instead?"

As Zayne spoke, he withdrew Necrotic Dominion.

"Absolutely not. I’ll work. I love working. I really do. Boss, you point east, I will never go west."

The mont castration was ntioned, Double J imdiately swore loyalty.

Zayne ignored him and walked straight to Astrachior’s side.

"Forbidden Spell: Extre Frost Coffin."

Zayne raised his hand and released the Forbidden Spell.

Extre Frost Coffin was an ice type Forbidden Spell. At the cost of one of the caster’s arms, it sealed the enemy inside an ice coffin that would never lt, erasing all signs of life.

At this mont, Zayne was using it as a coffin crafting spell.

Ice blue light spread rapidly beneath Astrachior like blooming crystal flowers.

A bone chilling cold filled the air, as if ti itself had frozen.

The ice blue glow condensed into a crystal clear coffin around Astrachior, as though carved from the purest blue ice. It was smooth, flawless, and radiated intense cold.

Astrachior lay quietly inside. If not for the complete lack of color in his face, he looked as though he were rely asleep.

"Teacher, I’m taking you ho."

Zayne stepped forward, lifted the ice coffin onto his shoulder, and retraced the path they had taken.

Just like before, the Old Shipyard Port inside the Gate of Apocalypse was utterly silent, without a single sign of life.

"This place is really weird. Wasn’t the Gate of Apocalypse supposed to be full of treasures? Why is there nothing here?"

Double J muttered.

"This place is probably beyond what we are capable of exploring right now."

Zayne also looked up and took a deep look at the world around them.

This trip into the Gate of Apocalypse had already given him more than enough. At the very least, he finally understood why he possessed an immortal body.

As for the deeper secrets of the Gate of Apocalypse, he could return for them once he was stronger.

Right now, the most important thing was to let Astrachior rest in peace.

Soone who could calmly face death for the sake of all humanity did not deserve to be disturbed even after death.

When they walked out through the stone gate, a sharp pain suddenly tore through Zayne’s abdon.

The Apocalypse Ancient Key burst out of his stomach on its own, flew back into the Gate of Apocalypse, and vanished without a trace.

Imdiately after, the massive stone gate began to dissolve, slowly fading away until it disappeared completely.

The next ti the Gate of Apocalypse and the Apocalypse Ancient Key would appear, no one knew when or where that would be.

Zayne carried the ice coffin out of the valley.

Without Astrachior’s guidance, their luck ran out quickly. After only a few steps, a massive claw slamd down toward them.

A level 34 Dragonblood Troll.

"Fireball."

Zayne raised the Raging Fla Staff and sent a Fireball flying, instantly killing the Dragonblood Troll.

Then he activated Endless Devour.

"Devoured level 34 normal monster tis one. Gained water, fat, protein, carbohydrates, minerals, and a trace of extrely diluted dragon bloodline."

"Gained lifespan 424 years, experience 340 points, Strength plus 6, Agility plus 2, Spirit plus 1."

Zayne froze slightly.

The rewards from devouring monsters seed different from devouring humans. There was an extra dragon bloodline.

"Dragon Bloodline. Current concentration 0.00001 percent. Effect unknown."

Zayne killed and devoured another monster, but this ti the dragon bloodline concentration did not increase.

"It should only transfer what the target itself possesses."

Zayne murmured.

Endless Devour clearly had many more aspects waiting to be explored.

But he had no ti to think about that now.

He carried the ice coffin and slaughtered his way back, cleaning up the battlefield with Endless Devour as he went.

The monsters around Old Shipyard Port could not withstand Zayne going all out.

Monster bodies were far tougher than human bodies, so each devoured monster greatly boosted his Strength.

By the ti he returned to Old Shipyard Port, Zayne could clearly feel how much stronger his physical body had beco. He could even engage low level monsters in close combat without using any Forbidden Spells.

That was utterly unbelievable for a Forbidden Spellcaster.

The ice coffin that had felt heavy on his shoulder now felt much lighter.

Zayne carried it to the entrance of Astrachior’s small courtyard, took a deep breath, and knocked.

The door opened quickly.

When Nia saw who was standing there, her face lit up with joy, her beautiful eyes filled with excitent.

"Shadowcaster. You’re finally back. Where’s my father? Did he agree to take you as his disciple?"
