"Boss, what’s our next move?" Lin Jiao asked as soon as she saw the mbers of the Gray Wolf rcenary Corps bow their heads in submission.

Lu Feng opened his holographic computer, glanced at the yellow dots on the screen, and asked the driver, "What’s your na?"

"Guo Zhen!" the driver answered at once.

Lu Feng nodded and gave an order. "Guo Zhen, take so n and bring out all the survivors."

Guo Zhen nodded at once, his face lighting up with joy.

He knew his new boss was about to give him an important task. After acknowledging the order, he imdiately went over to the other rcenary Corps mbers. "You all, co with to get the people."

The rcenary Corps mbers didn’t react at first. Only then did they realize the situation had changed, and they quickly followed Guo Zhen.

Before long, Guo Zhen returned, herding the base’s survivors before Lu Feng.

There was a large number of them—several hundred at least—and every one of them wore an electronic shackle around their neck.

The n were all gaunt and haggard, clearly malnourished and in a miserable state.

As for the won, the unattractive ones were just as thin and starved, but the prettier ones with good figures had much healthier complexions.

All in all, the survivors reminded Lu Feng of real-world refugees.

Still, the sheer number of survivors genuinely surprised Lu Feng.

The survivors, in turn, stared at Lu Feng with expressions of awe and fear.

They had already been told the base was under new ownership.

In their eyes, Gray Wolf had been terrifying enough, but now, the man standing before them had killed him.

"Boss, everyone’s here. What are your instructions?" Guo Zhen hurried to Lu Feng’s side, speaking with utmost respect.

Lu Feng looked at the survivors and asked directly, "I’m sure you already know this base now belongs to . So, what I want to know is this: what did you all do for work before the apocalypse?"

Guo Zhen didn’t understand why his new boss was asking these questions. Seeing the survivors just standing there in a daze, he imdiately barked, "What are you all gawking at? Didn’t you hear the boss?"

Seeing this, Lin Jiao, Chen Hao, Chen Tao, and Xu Bin exchanged a glance before all turning to look at Guo Zhen.

’This one seems awfully eager to impress.’

However, Guo Zhen’s shout snapped the survivors out of it. One person stepped forward and said, "Before the apocalypse, I was an appliance repairman. I can fix all kinds of electronics, and if I have the materials, I can build them from scratch!"

Lu Feng’s eyes lit up at his words. He glanced over at Cheng Yaoyao. This survivor could clearly help Yaoyao with the electromagnetic rice cooker technology.

Once the first person spoke, others quickly followed suit.

"I was a master mixologist before the apocalypse! I know recipes for all sorts of cocktails and the popular hard seltzers from the bars!"

"I was a mobile ga designer! I can program all kinds of gas and crack the code for any mobile ga!"

"I was a researcher..."

"I was the CFO for a cloud networking company."

"..."

One by one, the survivors announced their pre-apocalypse professions.

As they continued their reports, Lu Feng realized he had a lot of talented people on his hands. This was a welco developnt, as he had been planning to establish a post-apocalyptic research base right here in Zhuangyuan District.

With that in mind, Lu Feng instructed Guo Zhen, "Go have soone prepare a al. Let them eat well. From now on, make sure they get enough to eat every day!"

’I value talent, and I can’t have these people starving.’

’Even the unskilled ones are useful as free labor, and they need to be well-fed to have the strength to work.’

His words made Guo Zhen freeze. He said anxiously, "Boss, I don’t know the exact count, but our base has limited food. In the past, even us combat personnel could only eat until we were half-full. If we have to feed several hundred people until they’re full every day, our supplies won’t last long at all. The strain on our food reserves will be imnse."

Hearing about the food problem, Lu Feng just smiled. "I’ll solve the food problem. From now on, everyone—the survivors and all of you—can eat three full als a day. No one goes hungry."

’A food problem? Is he kidding ?’

’Food is a serious problem in this apocalypse. Even the Gray Wolf rcenary Corps only ate until they were half-full. This makes food the perfect tool to buy loyalty and win these people over.’

Just as he expected, Lu Feng’s words caused a stir among both the survivors and the Gray Wolf rcenary Corps mbers.

"We can eat until we’re full every day?"

"Three als a day?"

"Is this for real?"

"..."

The survivors found it hard to believe. They were wearing electronic shackles, making them little more than slaves. No one would treat slaves this well, not when food was so scarce in the apocalypse.

The mbers of the Gray Wolf rcenary Corps also had expressions of joy. While they’d received food rations every day before, it was rarely enough to feel truly full.

They knew exactly how great the strain on the base’s food supply was. Otherwise, the Gray Wolf rcenary Corps wouldn’t have needed to constantly scout for other survivor settlents to raid.

Lin Jiao, knowing her boss had no shortage of food, imdiately said to Guo Zhen, "What are you standing around for? The boss said he’d solve the food problem, and he will."

Hearing this, Guo Zhen didn’t dare hesitate. He imdiately turned to a Gray Wolf rcenary Corps mber beside him. "Quick, tell the kitchen to start cooking! Make sure everyone eats their fill today."

The rcenary Corps mber imdiately ran off to deliver the order.

At that, the survivors and the rcenaries seed to finally believe it. They couldn’t help the looks of joy and anticipation that appeared on their faces.

’If he can really keep us fed every day like he says, then maybe having him in charge is better than Gray Wolf after all.’

Clearly, his food policy was having an excellent effect.

And for Lu Feng, food was no problem at all.

"Show around," Lu Feng then ordered Guo Zhen.

Guo Zhen imdiately began to lead the way, giving Lu Feng a tour of the base.

First, they visited a production line for sothing called Pulse-Fracture Chips, which included the equipnt used to implant them.

Guo Zhen had no idea where the production line and equipnt ca from, only that Gray Wolf had acquired them from sowhere. It was with these chips that Gray Wolf had controlled everyone.

The electronic shackles, on the other hand, had been purchased from the City East Alliance.

For the mont, Lu Feng didn’t comnt on the Pulse-Fracture Chips or the electronic shackles. Such was the reality of survival in the apocalypse.

Next, Lu Feng followed Guo Zhen to another production line.

Lu Feng’s eyes lit up the mont he saw this one.

He could tell at a glance that the line was producing firearm components and dense rows of ammunition.

n always have a special interest in this sort of thing.

In the apocalypse, these weapons might not be as good as laser guns, but if taken back to his original world, they would undoubtedly be far more advanced and powerful.

Guo Zhen quickly explained, "Boss, this production line is what we used to produce and restock the Gray Wolf rcenary Corps’ weapons. The line is flawed and can’t operate automatically, so we’d usually have the captured survivors work here to manually assist with production."

Lu Feng nodded and walked over to a table where finished bullets were laid out in several different types.

He spotted two familiar types of ammunition, imdiately went over, picked them up, and used his ga’s inspection skill on them.

[Firearm Ammunition. Deals imnse damage when fired. Compatible with old-model Tokarev pistols!]

[Firearm Ammunition. Deals imnse damage when fired. Compatible with Czech-made pistols!]

’So this really is ammunition for those two handguns,’ he thought, reading the descriptions.

He had used up a lot of ammunition for those two handguns when killing the Gray Wolf rcenary Corps mbers and had been wondering how he would get more.

He never expected the problem to be solved so easily.

With a re thought, Lu Feng stored the handful of bullets in his inventory space. He then grabbed two more handfuls and stored them as well.

’Can never hurt to have extra.’

Guo Zhen watched this with absolute astonishnt. He had just witnessed yet another one of his new boss’s abilities.

’So the new boss has more than one power.’
