"Let’s leave, Master. We need to get you sowhere safe," Frenrir said urgently.
Leon frowned. "What do you an? I thought you two were close. And now you want to leave her behind like this?"
"Close?" Frenrir looked surprised. "Noira is my sister. We’re twins."
Leon’s eye twitched. His gaze shifted to Frenrir’s rugged face and mountain-like muscles.
Then to Noira, who had just risen to her feet in the distance.
Back and forth.
’From which angle?’ Leon couldn’t help but wonder.
One looked like a walking fortress made of muscle, while the other was an extraordinary beauty. How could they possibly be twins?
But just then...
Boom!
Noira’s fist slamd into the demon’s chest and sent it hurtling across the cavern once again.
"."
’Never mind. I guess they really are.’
Seeing Leon’s expression, Frenrir thought he was still.not convinced. "Don’t worry, Master. She’s buying ti for us. Once you’re safe, she’ll leave imdiately, too."
"How?" Leon asked. "The demon isn’t just going to let her walk away."
"No, it won’t." Frenrir nodded. "But rember what I told you earlier? Every Glacial Wolf possesses a unique innate ability."
Leon listened attentively.
"Noira’s specialty is Void Manipulation. She can tear open space itself and travel from one location to another almost instantly. Unless a special restriction separates the two places, escaping is effortless for her."
Leon’s eyes widened. "She has a power that cool?" Looking at Noira’s way, he couldn’t help but feel excited just thinking about the power. "Damn. That’s freaking aweso."
Then he looked at Frenrir. "And what’s your ability?"
Frenrir shook his head. "We can talk about that later, Master. Right now, we need to leave."
Leon glanced toward the distant battle again. Noira was still exchanging blows with the demon. ’I don’t think he’d make up a story just to get out of here. And he doesn’t look like the kind of person who would abandon his own sister.’
After a mont of thought, Leon nodded. "Okay."
Without wasting another second, Leon and Frenrir turned and sprinted toward the staircase leading out of the cavern. It didn’t take them long to erge from the cave.
The foothill stood behind them.
As soon as they erged from the cave, a trace of emotion appeared on Frenrir’s face.
’How long has it been since I last breathed fresh air?’ He slowly inhaled the crisp air. ’Hundreds of years? Perhaps even thousands.’
His gaze drifted toward the distant horizon.
’If Master hadn’t sealed us away back then to wake up in this era, even our fossils would have turned to dust by now.’
anwhile, Leon glanced back at the mountain.
"I think this is the Third Layer of the tower," he said. "Who would’ve thought sothing like that was hidden inside the Delvan Tower?"
’Tower?’ Frenrir’s eyes narrowed slightly. ’Aren’t we in Nexar? Why is Master calling it a tower?’ Countless questions surfaced in his mind. However, he didn’t voice any of them.
Instead, he silently followed behind Leon.
The two continued running.
Before long, they arrived before the sa gate Eira had used to bring Leon into this layer.
The mont Frenrir saw it, his eyes widened. ’A transportation gate? What in the world is going on? Why is a transportation gate standing in the middle of nowhere?’
Before he could ask Leon anything or warn him, Leon had already stepped through the gate.
Whoosh!
His figure vanished instantly.
Frenrir could only sigh helplessly before following after him. ’It’s fine. Noira will know how to find .’
A mont later, Frenrir erged onto the island alongside Leon.
Leon didn’t stop. He imdiately continued running toward the second gate located on the opposite side of the island. Without hesitation, he stepped through it as well once he got there.
Whoosh!
The world shifted once again.
Finally, they arrived at the First Layer.
Leon quickened his pace and headed straight toward the main exit.
After almost fifteen minutes, he stepped through the final gate.
The familiar tallic gate stood before him.
At last, they had returned to the entrance of the Delvan Tower. Along the way, not a single monster had attacked them.
anwhile, outside the Delvan Tower...
A large number of hunters had surrounded the area, their eyes fixed on the tower’s entrance.
"It’s been almost eight hours now. When is that assassin planning to co out?" Jessica asked impatiently.
She and her grandfather had arrived at the Bowen estate shortly after Leon left with Eira. And now, both of them were here.
"Can’t say," Archie replied.
He stood beside Jessica and Stanley Cooper, his gaze also locked on the entrance.
Stanley’s expression remained calm, but his thoughts were anything but. ’To think he managed to take down all those assassins on his own. I knew that boy was special, but I never imagined he was special to this extent.’
A sigh escaped inwardly. ’If not for the regulation prohibiting us from assigning a rank to soone whose mana cannot be asured, I wouldn’t have been forced to send him to the military for his license.’
The more he thought about it, the more worried he beca. ’Once the military discovers his talent, there is no way they’ll let him leave easily. The military should be a place that nurtures heroes. Unfortunately, not everyone there thinks the sa way. There are too many sches, too many people chasing personal interests.’
A trace of concern appeared on his face. ’I just hope he doesn’t end up as a lab specin instead of being recognized as a national hero soday.’
Countless possibilities ran through his mind.
’But first... I hope he can make it out alive.’
Stanley briefly considered entering the tower himself. However, he quickly dismissed the idea.
’I don’t even know which layer they’re currently in. And if my interference pushes that assassin into a corner, she might resort to desperate asures.’
anwhile, on the opposite side of the tower...
Oliver stood guard, his massive fra resembling an immovable mountain. His thoughts were also occupied by Leon.
’That boy... He has more tricks up his sleeve than anyone I’ve t in years.’
Oliver folded his arms.
’He’s not an S-Class hunter yet. But I don’t know why I am having this hunch that he will soon beco one. Faster than anyone can imagine.’
A determined look appeared on his face. ’I have to recruit him into my guild no matter what. Just don’t die in there, boy."
anwhile, back inside the cavern...
The demon and Noira stood face to face. Noira’s expression looked horrified. "Y-you are...." She stamred. "A rank three demon?"
