[His little tricks won't work on me. He can say whatever he wants, but I won't follow his rhythm,] Feng Che sent a silent telepathic message to Mewtwo. [Though, I have to admit, this Heatmor is quite impressive.]

Pokémon: Heatmor Gender: Male Aptitude: Epic (Cyan) Ability: Flash Fire Level: 58 Type: Fire

Dark Status: Hungry (Extremely irritable; prone to bursting into flames if provoked.)

Feng Che analyzed the data. While the lava field provided a 200% power boost to Fire-types, the Flash Fire ability made Heatmor immune to Fire attacks. Sending out Incineroar or Niales would be useless.

"Go, Flygon!"

"Flygon?" Blaze raised an eyebrow. "I expected Gyarados or Greninja. Water is usually the reliable choice against me."

"In this heat, a Water-type would be suffocating," Feng Che replied, shaking his head. "Even Rain Dance would struggle to activate here."

"Heatmor, Fire Lash! Yank that Flygon out of the sky!" Blaze commanded. A whip of searing flame lashed out toward the dragon.

"Flygon, use Earth Power!"

Golden orbs of energy rose from the bubbling magma, hurtling toward Heatmor. Heatmor's fire whip sliced through the first few, detonating them mid-air, but it wasn't enough.

"Flygon, Bug Buzz!"

The vibration of the wings emitted a high-frequency screech, the sound waves shattering Heatmor's follow-up fire s. Suddenly, Heatmor stumbled and fell.

"What happened?" Blaze looked down. "Where did those rocks come from?" He realized that Flygon's Earth Power hadn't just been an attack; it had subtly altered the terrain, creating jagged protrusions that tripped Heatmor. "Clever use of Earth Power."

"Flygon, Earthquake!"

The entire lava field shook violently. Heatmor, trapped on the ground, took massive damage.

Heatmor: [So annoying! So frustrating!]

In its rage, Heatmor's internal temperature spiked. It began absorbing the ambient heat from the surrounding lava. In seconds, the liquid magma turned into cold, black volcanic rock. Heatmor's flames shifted from red to a terrifying, incandescent white.

A blast of white fire shot toward Flygon. It missed, but where it hit the ceiling, it burned a massive hole through the reinforced structure.

"Oh my god," Blaze muttered, his face pale. "Agatha is going to kill me for the repair bill. The League is already in a deficit; I'm going to be poor for the rest of my life."

Feng Che ignored Blaze's financial crisis. "That flame is at least 6000°C. Flygon, kick up the dust!"

Flygon used its enhanced connection to the Earth God Crystal to grind the newly formed volcanic rock into fine black sand. Within moments, the lava field was a churning Sand Sea.

"Heatmor, Flamethrower!"

As the white fire surged, Flygon used the sand to cocoon Heatmor in a dense sphere.

"Wait... dust... fire..." Blaze's eyes widened. "Get out of there!"

BOOM!

A massive Dust Explosion occurred. The sulfur-rich black sand, when ignited by the 6000°C flame in a confined space, created a blast that rocked the entire headquarters. When the smoke cleared, Heatmor lay charred and bleeding, its white flames extinguished. It coughed out a puff of black smoke and collapsed.

"How... how was the explosion that powerful?" Blaze asked, stunned.

"The magma here is rich in sulfur," Feng Che explained. "Flygon ground that sulfur-rich rock into a fine powder. When you combined that with a high-temperature flame in a confined sand-orb, you triggered a textbook dust explosion."

Blaze sighed. "Defeated by science. Your Flygon's talent to turn any rock into sand is terrifying. I lose, fair and square." He tossed a glowing red stone to Feng Che. "Take this. It's a Fire Gem—the first one I obtained after becoming an Elite. Carry the will of fire, and use it to protect Kanto."

The Ice Platform

Feng Che moved through the Frozen Path until he reached a crystalline arena. There stood Lorelei, the veteran Elite Four member. She wore gold-rimmed glasses, her sharp gaze contrasting with her elegant, form-fitting dress. Her crimson hair flowed over her shoulders as she crossed her arms.

"Welcome, Feng Che," she said, her voice as cool as the air. "Let's see if your heat can survive my absolute zero."
