"Return, Incineroar, Greninja, Corviknight."

By now, Mewtwo had already swept the rare ores associated with the Heart of Steel into its subspace. Feng Che recalled his Pokémon and, with Mewtwo's help, used Teleport to return to the surface.

Incineroar, Greninja, and Corviknight are actually capable of taking on Elite-tier Pokémon individually, Feng Che mused. Even though we mostly caught Hagen off guard, they still have massive room for growth. The inheritances from Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza make them fundamentally stronger than ordinary specimens.

He estimated his current level to be somewhere between a Gym Leader and a Pseudo-Elite. If Hagen hadn't been so arrogant and had deployed his full team of six, the fight wouldn't have ended so quickly.

Below Ground: The Core

"Elite Hagen, are you alright?" Warden Dorus asked, trembling as he looked at the stunned Elite.

"I just received word from Headquarters. Team Rocket is laying waste to the Plateau," Dorus continued frantically. "President Goodshow has ordered an immediate recall of all forces!"

Hagen's Steelix had begun to recover. Though badly scorched by Incineroar's white flames, its high Special Defense and the minerals it was devouring from the cave walls allowed it to slowly regain its strength.

"Pursue them! I must get that Heart back!" Hagen roared, his eyes bloodshot with rage. "I was careless. I won't make that mistake twice."

"Dorus, your Reuniclus can track spatial distortions. Find out exactly where that brat went. Now!"

Dorus knew his career was on the line. He released his Reuniclus.

Reuniclus is a Pokémon encased in a pale green, protective liquid membrane. Its core resembles a human fetus with large arms made of specialized psychokiic fluid capable of crushing boulders.

The Reuniclus emitted a blue telepathic pulse, attempting to lock onto the residual coordinates of Feng Che's Teleport. Suddenly, the Pokémon let out a shrill scream and plummeted to the floor, unconscious.

"Its mind was crushed... it hit a psychic wall far stronger than its own," Dorus gasped, his face pale. "That boy... he's a Master-tier Psychic. He left a trap in the spatial wake."

Outside the Prison Gates

"Interesting," Mewtwo's voice echoed in Feng Che's mind as they moved through the spatial tunnel. "A little insect tried to follow us. I pinched its spirit."

Thanks for the assist, Mewtwo. I couldn't have secured the Heart so cleanly without you.

[Mewtwo: Hehe. It's nothing. We are partners, after all.]

They emerged on the outskirts of the prison. The entire facility was engulfed in flames. An Arcanine, Camerupt, and Magcargo were locked in a desperate struggle against two former inmates.

"Damn it! Who are these people? How are they this strong?" Elite Blaze muttered, his face grim as his three main Pokémon were held at bay.

Just then, his communicator buzzed.

Goodshow: Blaze, abandon the prison! Return to the Plateau immediately! The main headquarters is under siege and we are being overrun!

Blaze gritted his teeth. "Cowardly old fool! He's ordering a retreat now?"

But he knew he was tied to Goodshow's fate. "Return, Camerupt! Magcargo! Arcanine!" He summoned a Talonflame and soared toward the Plateau.

"Why is he retreating? He had the advantage," Augustus said, confused, as the fire Elite vanished into the clouds.

"I can answer that," Feng Che said, walking toward them. "Boss Giovanni has launched the final offensive. They've breached the main headquarters, and Goodshow is panicking. He's recalling everyone for a final stand."

"Well then," Augustus grinned. "Let's go up and join the party. I want to be the one to knock the teeth out of those League dogs."

Indigo Plateau: League Headquarters

"Where are they?! Blaze and Hagen should have been here by now!" Goodshow paced his office like a caged animal. "The prison doesn't matter anymore! If this building falls, everything is over!"

He clutched the three Poké Balls on his belt—his final insurance. He didn't want to use them unless the situation was truly dire.

Outside, Giovanni watched the chaos with a triumphant smile. "It's going smoother than I imagined. The Elite Four are still nowhere to be seen, and the League's internal defenses are as brittle as glass. We haven't even needed the Triple-Birds yet."

The North-Eastern Ridge

The "Pallet Town Special Ops"—Red, Blue, and Green—were crouched in the brush, watching the unfolding war. Beside them stood Professor Oak, flanked by his Champion-tier Dragonite and Kangaskhan.

"I have no love for Goodshow's corruption," Oak said gravely, "but the Indigo Plateau is the face of Kanto. I cannot let Giovanni raze it to the ground. The blow to the region's spirit would be irrecoverable."

"Should we move in, Professor?" Red asked, his hand on a Poké Ball.

"Not yet. We wait. We strike when Rocket is at their most exhausted and complacent—at the very moment of their 'victory.' We only need to hold them until the Elite Four's legions arrive."

Viridian City

Lance watched the live feeds from the front lines. "Goodshow is a failure. He let them walk right through the front door."

"Should we move in?" Lorelei asked. "If the Plateau falls, our reputations will suffer regardless."

"No. I want to see Goodshow's hidden cards first," Lance replied coldly. "Deploy our legions near the Plateau, but keep them in the shadows. We wait for him to reveal his hand. Once he's desperate, we move in to 'drive away' the Rockets. Remember: Team Rocket is the enemy of the League, and the enemy of our enemy is a tool we can use."

"And the Great Families?" Lorelei asked.

"My men are already cleaning them out," Lance smirked. "They're wearing Rocket uniforms and using non-signature Pokémon. To the world, Rocket is purging the elite; to the elite, we are the heroes who arrived too late."

Rocket Front Lines

Feng Che arrived and met with Giovanni. "Feng Che, you've done exceptionally well. Now, stay close. I want you to witness the birth of a new era."

"Augustus, welcome back. I won't force your friend to join us if he has no interest," Giovanni added, glancing at Feng Lu.

Augustus just laughed. "Let's just get to the fighting, Boss."

Giovanni released the three Legendary Birds. With every flap of their wings, the League's remaining defenders were blown away like dust.
