At the sa ti, Sol led his team forward.

All along the way, not to ntion Beastn, even their traces were nowhere to be found.

Sol wondered if the opposition had taken the opportunity to flee when they had split their forces?

No sooner had the thought crossed his mind than it was dismissed by Sol.

The three directions north of the forest had been secured by their three teams respectively; if they had fled, it would not have gone unnoticed, and the only possible direction they could have escaped was to the south.

But the south was the territory of the Human Clan Kingdom; it was impossible that the group of Beastn would choose that direction.

Having clarified this point, Sol steadied his mind and continued forward.

Just because Sol was thorough in his thoughts didn’t an that the rcenaries following him could think as clearly.

After all, having walked for so long and under such highly strung conditions, they truly began to feel a hint of fatigue.

If there had been so gains, it would have been all right, but with not a single find, they really couldn’t muster any enthusiasm.

Many among them thought that the Beastn, seeing their large numbers and superior strength, had chosen to flee.

Otherwise, how could they explain that they had spent so much ti and still hadn’t spotted a trace of the Beastn?

Most importantly, based on their experience in dealing with Beastn, these creatures simply did not possess the patience to wait for an opportune mont to strike.

Fight or retreat.

Since they hadn’t faced them head-on, that ant they had retreated!

With such thoughts in mind, so of the rcenaries progressed with a certain carelessness.

And their attitude fit perfectly with Lucas’s intentions.

If these humans were all resolute in searching for them, it would have been a trouble for them too.

In that manner, Sol led his team to press on continuously.

Soon enough, they had arrived at the big pit that Lucas and his group had dug.

As Lucas and his companions held their breath in anticipation, they watched as Sol and his group unconsciously stepped forward.

Watching them enter, Lucas felt a flicker of joy in his heart.

Success!

This trap had also been learned from the residents of Hope Village.

The best traps were those that could deceive a group of people; therefore, when targeting the majority, the traps had to be half genuine and half fake.

The real part was to make those who stepped on the trap feel nothing out of the ordinary until, without any preparation, the trap suddenly beca effective. Only then would the trap achieve its utmost optimization.

Two, three, ten... nineteen, twenty-three...

As the numbers increased, the trap Lucas and his team had set was clearly reaching its limit.

At this point, adding just one more person could trigger a radical change.

And while Lucas waited for this catalyst, Sol at the forefront had already sensed that sothing was amiss.

The ground beneath his feet seed to be getting softer.

How could normal ground be soft?

Sol turned around to take a look, only to see that the queue behind him was perceptibly shorter than before—the center part of this tract of land had already sunk downwards!

Sol’s pupils constricted, and just as one person was about to step on this area, he shouted loudly, "Don’t move."

That single sentence froze many in place.

But it was too late. The foot of the man who had been lifted was already planted on that patch of ground, and even because of Sol’s warning, he had lifted his other foot as well, and though he remained motionless, the entire weight of his body was now bearing down on that ground.

With a thunderous collapse, the ground gave way.

The few dozen people above had no ti to react and were sent tumbling down.

Bangs and crashes resounded at the scene.

Sol managed to extract himself swiftly but before he could inspect the situation at the bottom of the pit, a large Tiger-man burst out from one side, hurling his fist straight at Sol’s face. As Sol dodged, the Tiger-man moved to his rear.

Forced to turn around, Sol recognized the Tiger-man attacking him in that instant; it was the sa one who had previously provoked them.

Old grudges and new, Sol didn’t hesitate to draw a huge sword and thrust it at O’Neill.

After narrowly evading, O’Neill imdiately closed the distance, his fist slamming into the arm with which Sol held his sword.

A twinge of pain caused Sol’s grip on the giant sword to nearly falter, but as the pain subsided, he didn’t hesitate to make an inward slash aid right at O’Neill’s forehead.
